A 17-year-old Colorado boy was shot in the face Tuesday after he and a friend went to a home to ask permission to take homecoming photos on the property. The shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. at a home on Pleasant Park Road in Jefferson County, the sheriff's office said. When deputies arrived, the 17-year-old was "bleeding heavily from his face, as a second juvenile applied pressure to his friend's wounds with a t-shirt," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday. The teen is recovering from his injuries. Brent Metz, the boyfriend of a woman who lives at the home, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was booked on charges of first-degree assault, felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. It’s not clear if he has obtained an attorney. The sheriff's office said the woman, who was not at the home, had called deputies before the shooting to report two trespassers on her property. She also called Metz, who drove over to the home and allegedly blocked the teen's car from leaving, according to NBC affiliate KUSA of Denver. Metz then got out of his vehicle and allegedly fired one round through the windshield of the teen's car, the news station reported. The 17-year-old told deputies that he and his friend went to the home because they wanted to take pictures there. He said they parked outside the gate, hopped the fence and walked up the driveway to look for the homeowner, the sheriff's office said in a news release. When they could not find anyone at the residence, the boys "walked around the property trying to locate a homeowner" and then got back in their car, the sheriff's office said. "They returned to their car and began writing a note to the homeowner, asking permission to use their property to take pictures," authorities said. "While they were doing this, a man they had never seen before pulled up next to them, exited the truck he was driving, and fired a round through the windshield, striking the 17-year-old driver in the face." A sheriff's office spokesperson told KUSA that the teen's intent did not seem "malicious or criminal." According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the news station, one of the teens said they heard Metz say, "Oh s---, my gun just went off," after the shooting. Metz tried to help the 17-year-old but his friend pushed him away, the affidavit says. Metz, 38, is a council member for the town of Mountain View, according to KUSA. The town administrator declined to comment when contacted by NBC News on Thursday.

Years ago I purchased a Google home hub. It is almost exclusively used to play music while I am cooking. First I used Google music or YouTube music (I forget which) then Spotify. I now have left Android and Spotify behind. In the Google home app I do not see an option to use tidal music. And when I try and share audio from my iPhone the hub does not appear on Bluetooth or WiFi devices. Even when using Spotify I would have to start the music on the hub then open the app on my phone to put on the music I wanted. Is there a way to keep using the hub? Or should I get another HomePod?

Every Monday morning I get a spreadsheet from one of my distributors that lists all items I have on pre and back order. I download that file, and then do my spreadsheet sorting. However, since I started to use the ProtonMail app on MacOS (vs in Safari) when I download the file, it gives an error that there is already a file by that name. When I save with Safari it adds a number to make it unique. I am unsure if this is a MacOS issue, or a ProtonMail app issue.

Not only does the credit bureau max out their password length, you have a small list of available non-alphanumeric characters you can use, and no spaces. Also you cannot used a plused email address, and it had an issue with my self hosted email alias, forcing me to use my gmail address. Both Experian and transunion had no password length limitations, nor did they require my username be my email address. Update: I have been unable to log into my account for the last 3 days now. Every time I try I get a page saying to call customer service. After a total of 2 hours on hold I finally found the issue, you cannot connect to Equifax using a VPN. In addition there is no option for 2FA (not even email or sms) and they will hang up on you if you push the issue of their security being lax. Their reasoning for lax security and no vpn usage is "well all of our other customers are okay with this".

I moved my business into a new building, and there is a doorway i want to put up a door in it. However the doorway is about 1/4" narrower at the bottom, than the top. Neither of the top corners are square. I am looking for the easiest way with the least amount of work and knowledge needed to hang this door. It is only a barrier, it is not for security. It will be closed most of the time, so i am not worried if it is going to naturally swing open or closed. Also, the cuts for the hinges on the door and the frame do not line up. I am fine with buying a new door, but I would rather not replace the frame of i can avoid it. Any suggestions?

I have always been real good about ensuring my business and the surrounding businesses (and other locations) are up to date in Apple, Bing, and Google Maps. I just started looking at OpenStreet Maps and see it has not been updated in over 3 years (and 2 locations ago). I updated the address, but the marker did not move. I do not see a way to move the marker to the correct location. I am guessing I need to move all of the info (most of it is inaccurate) to where my business is currently located and then mark the old location as closed, or is there a better way to do that?

I live in rural NM, and getting physical comics is a trek. I used to use Comixology, but missed physical books so much I opened a comic and game shop in my small town. The comic side of things failed, my game sales were financing the comics. So after just over a year i cancelled my comic account to focus on the games. Since then Amazon took over comixology and moved shopping for comics onto Amazon, which after three days of trying to find titles I have decided to explore other avenues. I know when I was selling comic books marvel had their own app, do all of the publishers have those? Or is Amazon the only name in the game? I am looking to catch up on Dynamite’s Red Sonya, Marvel’s Conan, Elfquest, anything X-Force, X-23, and probably Firefly. I have not read a comic since my last order came into the shop in January 2020. The news of the new X-23 series is what started to pull me back in again, I did manage to get a subscription to that on Amazon.

I need to replace the iPad I use in my shop as my register. Unless I replace the stand (Square Stand) the newest I can get is an iPad Air 3rd, or iPad 9th gen. Looking at the specs it appears they are basically the same, with the Air having a better display (the antireflective coating sounds nice, but I could just get a matte screen protector), but the iPad having a better processor, and it is newer so it will get iOS updates for roughly two more years. It is used to stream music, run the Square app for my register, and I use Safari to look up items on the web for customers. The iPad I am using now is running slowly, and swapping between apps takes too long. Which would you choose? (It looks like the Air is available renewed with 64gb at $175-199, while the iPad is new with 64gb at $249) If anyone personally has experience with the new Square Stand I have some questions about it. Edit: called square to ask my questions about the new stand and they were unable to answer them. Waiting to hear back from a higher up hardware person, then I will make my decision on the new stand or keep the old one. It looks like I will go with the 9th gen iPad if I keep the old stand.

Lately I have been getting system notifications with no X on them to dismiss them. They are not going away on their own, I cannot move them. The only way that I have found to get rid of them is to restart my MacBook and then the dismissal X appears. Does anyone know how to dismiss these without the reboot?
