Same for me. I asked on Mastodon and people were saying it doesn’t work for them anymore. Very strange.

I've been considering a switch since my instance has a lot of issues with overloading. I like that yours doesn't censor words. Does lemm.ee have issues with too many people joining and overloading the server?

For example, I tried to recreate the Powerlifting community here and it's completely dead lol. It's just me posting a couple times per week hoping someone else joins me. There are around 50 subscribers but they only upvote my posts.
The APRS SMSGTE service was supposed to have gone down a month or two ago, but it has been working for me the entire time, at least when I message myself or my wife. I've chatted with others on others forums and other people have said it's not working for them. Just curious, is it working for anyone else?

Yes. I think it's because I'm a monthly supporter though. It seems to have a big psychological effect in that I want my money's worth, and I want Lemmy to succeed. So I comment and post quite a bit to help keep communities active.

I was only able to hit 96% on squat, 92% on deadlift, but got a 3% increase on bench, from 270# (122 kg) to 280# (127 kg). I did take a two week trip during training and had an SI joint tweak around the same time that made me train easy for a while, so that may be it. I’m surprised about deadlift though because I recently pulled 460# (208 kg) off short two inch blocks. Maybe I just had a bad day? Now I’m not sure which attempts to take at the meet. Thoughts?
Maybe just a few more pixels between them?
Im not sure if it’s the Lemmy.no instance having a hiccup or Memmy, but I haven’t been able to vote since yesterday. It appears to go through, then I get the message saying the vote couldn’t be submitted. Then shortly after that, it says it went through. However, it doesn’t actually go through. I have to try a few times. Anyone else have this experience? If so, I’ll make a big report on GitHub. I’m running the latest 0.0.2 (6).
I’m going to shul and will be playing games with my wife. I’m going to start rereading Heschel’s The Sabbath too. How about you?
I’ve been a huge fan of the movies since they first came out but didn’t read the books until the beginning of this year. I just wasn’t a reader until recently. I’ve been yearning for some more fantasy but haven’t been able to find anything similar. I tried The Silmarillion but it reads too much like a textbook to me. What are some other great fantasy books that I might like?
I just made this post and it already showed I had two upvotes, which likely isn’t true. I’ve noticed this every time I’ve made a comment lately. Not sure if it happens with posts.
My in-laws are visiting for a week at the end of next month and they like to visit until late in the evening. However, I typically go to bed at 7 PM because I have to get up at 4 AM to train for my sport before work. I'll have just finished a competition and will be beginning training for another one when they're here. What's the best way to set boundaries with them without coming across as an asshole? My wife will probably want to stay out later while they're here, so I'll have to figure out a way to compromise. To make it more interesting, what are some things your in-laws do that annoy you when they visit?
I have my final test day before my meet coming up on Sunday and I'm looking for some really heavy/hard music to listen to during my attempts. What is your go to music for this? To start it off, here are three of my favorites: - [Soreption - Reveal the Unseen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mTb7xXTN3U) - [Slayer - Postmortem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HYqiPAEO2k) - [Dark Angel - The Burning of Sodom](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyyLvR09pvM)
I have a test day coming up on Sunday and will be treating it as a mock meet (my meet is 23 July). My knees and lower back feel a bit beat up still. My program gives me about a week of deload sessions before testing so I'm good with that, but I'm wondering what I can do to help my knees and back. Any suggestions?
My wife and I are in the mood to watch something terrible. We just watched the langoliers ~~and hackers~~ so something in that vein would be fun. What are y’all’s favorite shitty movies? Edit: I have been corrected: hackers is a great movie. I'm sorry everyone.

I'm going to go with [Scientific Principles of Strength Training](https://www.jtsstrength.com/product/scientific-principles-of-strength-training/). A lot of good stuff in there. I have Boris Sheiko's book but haven't started it yet. I've heard it's not so great but I love his programming so picked it up anyway. What are some others that are good, informative reads?
If it’s not too muddy, I plan on going out to a nearby park and operating portable on emergency power by myself or maybe with a buddy. If it is muddy, I’ll try setting up in my backyard. I’m hoping to get a lot of good CW practice in! What is everyone else doing?
I've tried https://lemmy.ml and just lemmy.ml as the server but I can't sign in. It has been this way ever since I downloaded the app last week. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm currently struggling to find my home. I have an account here at lemmy.ml, where most of my posts are, and one at kbin. Why do you think your instance is the place to be?
Title. I plan on deleting my account soon but want all my comments to point people to lemmy. I know there are several ways to do so but I can't remember what they are. I did a search here before posting but nothing related came up. I'm planning on changing my comments to something like: > Edit: Moved to Lemmy but is there something better I can say?

Has anyone else had the upvote/downvote buttons, along with the post & comment toolbars disappear when using the darkly theme? They're still there, because if you click in the right spot you can get where you want, they just seem to be black on black. You can still see them if you switch to lightly or lightly red. I'm using the latest version of Edge if that matters. Edit: Switching the theme setting around seems to have fixed it, actually.

Over the past two years, I've run a webmap called Packet Radio map. You can see the locations of packet radio nodes across the world, and view information about them. This is useful because it will help you "hop" across digipeaters to get to where you want to go. I figured this community might find it useful. [Here's the backend scraping code if you're interested in how it works](https://github.com/minorsecond/mh-stats) https://www.packetradiomap.com
I created the [Powerlifting community](https://lemmy.ml/c/powerlifting) on lemmy.ml but I'm not seeing any of the mod actions listed here when I click the ellipses under a post: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/users/04-moderation.html Does this instance have those disabled?

In the mlem community, I clicked on this post: https://lemmy.ml/post/1223230 I was shown the title and post abouta protest taking place at Reddit HQ and in Ireland. You can see in the screenshot, the post doesn't really match the community and you can see it was posted to the Reddit community. The comments were all about the mlem app. There was another post I saw earlier today about someone being shown another user's page when refreshing. Very interesting. ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/196a0572-574e-423a-befe-16f7a929ba8e.png)
This is my project and someone pointed out that it might be good to jitter the points by some set amount to help with privacy concerns some people might have. I want to know what the ham community thinks. At least here in the US, it's very easy to look up someone's location based on their callsign already, unless they've opted for a PO box. I don't think jittering would affect the usefulness of the site in any major way as long as one can ascertain the general location of a node. What does the community think? If so, how far out should the jittering me done? https://www.packetradiomap.com
I’m looking for some good death metal like Nile featuring awesome blast beats. Any recommendations? I mainly listen to Archspire and a few other tech death bands but am trying to branch out.
I'm about 70% through the second Jurassic Park book and it's ok. People on /r/books seemed to think it was even better than the first, but it feels like a slog compared to the first. I'm looking forward to moving on to Stephen King's The Stand.
I'm a ham radio operator and use what's called packet radio frequently. This is a mode that is essentially a computer network over radio. It's useful to know the location of other packet stations so you know where you can "hop" to, by making multiple connections. So I wrote some Python that automatically connects to different nodes and scrapes the stations they hear. I use an API to get the station locations based on callsign, and these locations are saved in a PostGIS database. I use GeoServer to serve up the layers you see in the webmap. I'm wondering how I can improve this? Maybe someone has some ideas I can implement? I've tried adding a line layer to show a spiderweb of who can hear who, but it becomes a huge mess and causes the map to lag quite a bit. This has been my first webmap so I'm sure there's a lot to improve. Please critique away! https://www.packetradiomap.com
I see the subscribed feed, but not a way to browse communities I’ve subscribed to. Is that in progress or am I missing something?
I love playing with packet, and I love playing with APRS. So how do I decide? There’s quite a bit of both packet and APRS activity in the area. I don’t want to put up another antenna at the moment because funds won’t allow, otherwise I’d get another cheap 2m rig for APRS. On packet, I occasionally check in with other hams and send messages. I mostly keep it running because my webmap at packetradiomap.com uses my radio to map locally received stations. I could modify the webmap to not use my radio though. I feel running an APRS station is more “useful” though, as my area isn’t covered very well by iGates or digipeaters. So if you had to choose, would you go full time APRS or packet?
I'm just curious what everyone's operating positions look like. If you feel comfortable, share a photo or two. Here's mine. I'm really wanting some sort of shelving to sit the monitor's on to help tidy things up a bit. I'm not too handy though, so it'll be an adventure. The autotuner controller drives me crazy because it won't sit flat due to the heavy coax coming into the back. ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/5703302e-c716-4066-8fb5-541174198694.jpeg)
I'm currently on Sheiko Gold and I love it. Lots of medium to medium-hard intensity volume. Double deadlift days are a blast and I'm making good progress. Recently got a 208kg (460 lb) block pull and am really happy with it, and hope to pull that weight in my meet at the end of July. The latest pull: https://imgur.com/a/bV4pqEs
