Season was canceled half way through, due to some TNT executive fight. They wanted more sex appeal in the show, and it shows a few times.
A bunch of filler episodes in the 13 episode season, kinda a waste. A totally new cast, took some time to get used to them, but they do grow on me. The format changed to be more episodic wandering starship with lots of away sets. Must have been more expensive then a babylon 5 episode.
The themes of these season are Techno Mages, Cosmic Horror, Nano Machines and Central control.
The plague infecting earth isn't a biological virus, but nano-machines with central control. We run into a techno mange nano machine plague as well, which gets taken out by finding the central computer.
I think this could have been a good show with tighter plots, and more focus on the arcs.

The shadow cloud that would wrap a planet in a net of nuclear missile firing stations was destroyed by the new mega destroyers
As a consolation prize the Drazi drop a misconfigured plague on the planet that will kill everyone in 5 years.
This is all setup, no payoff... I think its to establish the premise for the TV series Crusade.
As far as planet killers go, relativistic rocks going through hyperspace could destroy a planet without all the fuss... or jumping into the center of a planet. The Shadow Net is way overdramatic.

I enjoyed the psy arc, the super weapon vorlon super psychic was a nice mcguffin
The fall of Lando getting trapped in the shadows shadow was compelling, I would have liked to see it resolved.
I have to say the end of the season dragged out, but the ending was really emotional, in a good way, I was surprised it had such impact.

There are USB to barrel adapters out there, you could use one of those, but if you want to design the circuit yourself that would be a fun project. You would need something that could negotiate USB power delivery

A - I imagine it would then become possible to fly airplanes between planets, perhaps balloons? Would space travel become easier or harder? B - According to another lemmy post, we would start to hear sound waves from the sun (A constant jackhammer sound - delightful) C - Each each planet become the center of some mega cyclone (like the Jupiter storms, but bigger)? D - At some point the air above us wouldn't be pushing down onto the earth at sea level, could we survive the additional pressure?

I've decided to do my first Babylon 5 rewatch! Lets have a binge thread to talk about B5! I would love to find a 4k remaster of the series, there are some great demo videos on youtube, but on the streaming sites I can only find 720p. If you have any trouble choosing which streaming service to use just search for fmhy and they will have a curated list of options. TV shows were wild back then, 22 episodes per season, 45 minutes each; 1000 minutes per season!

The game got a lot of hate online, but I've generally found when a game is hated on, there's usually something more. So I decided to actually play the game. I'm 5 hours in Honestly I like it, for telltale like walking simulator, it sets up the story pretty well, it has some nice sci-fi beats. It's good for what it is. It isn't anything it promises not to be. I think it's a good game, I'd recommend waiting until it goes on sale for $10 maybe. At that price point it's about the cost of a movie and That's where I put it in terms of value pricing. When Tyrian finds her there, she attempts to kill him. This is my understanding of her Arc, and I'm confused by her motivations. 1. Why did she come back to the capital despite being safely away? 2. Why try to kill Tyrion when discovered in his father's bed? 3. If her motivation was just money, why not take the nice retirement offered to her three times? 4. If she loved Tyrion, why try to kill him at all, why come back to the capital and appear in his trial?

I watched the first season of Colony, and I really enjoyed it. The premise is good, they don't rely on mystery boxes, motivations feel fleshed out. 10 Episode season, i recommend it. The premise is Aliens have colonized and oppressed earth we only learn enough about them at any time to motivate the actions of our human collaborators.

Setting up a Synology server, I made the mistake of just buying a UPS that had a USB plug on the back thinking oh this is a solved problem, it must just work. No no far from it. So the UPS I mistakenly purchased is not compatible with Synology. SRV1KI-E wants to run this weird program called PowerChute. Anyone have success marrying this into the Synology ecosystem? It also has a RS 232 serial port, I wonder if there's an off-the-shelf device that would speak serial but output power state via the network or USB.

I've met some people from Myanmar, communicating with them is difficult. They speak Tai Yai. Especially because I'm not aware of any machine translation option, so a third party has to get involved. I don't believe Google translate, Microsoft translate, any others I was looking at, have a Tai Yai feature. Are there any options for translation without involving a human?
Built out my ploopy mouse today, it's been sitting on my shelf for a while. I got the self-assembly kit, had to solder on one through hole component. So far I'm enjoying the mouse, the right mouse button is a little sticky, but I'm sure with a little readjustment it'll fall into place. Every part of this mouse is open source, the hardware files, the PCB, the schematic, the firmware which is QMK. There's a lot to love here. I've been playing some video games, and so far I enjoy the mouse quite a bit. If I do have one complaint it would be the central scroll wheel doesn't have a detent, but that might just take some getting used to I would love to see a kinesis style pinch mouse like the DXT2. @pronk@mastodon.social @PKL@mastodon.social Great device, thank you for making it open source.      Note: I ordered their USB cables, just for solidarity, and assuming they found a cable that was very effective for a mouse, the cables I received were very strong, too stiff really to be used for a mouse cable.
