Honestly I think everything should move to 20.

Alcohol purchase, consumption. Military conscription, draft, voluntary service Age of majority, marriageable age Voting with automatic voting registration Drug consumption including nicotine, caffeine, and cabinets Driving ( permits at a prior age with supervision )

We know people's brains aren't really formed enough even at 18 to consider people adults, this younger age is a hold over from even younger ages and doesn't reflect reality.

People who are not fully developed shouldn't be able to make decisions with the full weight of adulthood, to take any other position is barbaric.

I agree, but I think all intellectual property laws should be repealed. I came to the conclusion that patent, copyright, and trademark are all varying levels of bad years ago and I think it clearly holds the human race and human progress back by limiting creative iteration.

Again, you can't have multiple competing ideologies be correct concurrently because some are going to conflict, but if at least one matches reality then your concept ( again from a logic standpoint ) is bad.

Isn't it just as likely that one religion across c all of human history was right than absolutely none from like a 'logic' standpoint?

I'm not a religious person, but the conclusion that all are wrong because all can't be right is just bad logic and doesn't follow from the premise.

I'm peddling something that may very well be true, and things like this happen all across the world, all the time. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm kinda trying to say that you appear naive in my eyes.

For governments, and organizations ends are often considered justified by means and that's not even a crazy position to take.

Conspiracies literally happen, and honestly a lot of change in the world, or research, or political coups would be fundamentally impossible without them. You, like me, don't have all the information needed to even know quite frankly.

That's how the world actually works.

In English the 'base' of the word is 'operate'. Co, an affix ( prefix ) modifies operate and means something like 'operate together', and can even be written as co-operative ( noun ) or co-operate ( verb, but antiquated in my opinion ) .

So it's usually written without the dash, but when it's shorted to 'coop' I think it's best to use the dash as it removes ambiguity.

We don't have a century, we barely have decades, your scale is off, and honestly I don't want to be right, it would be amazing to be wrong about this, but I feel like I know with absolute certainty that we've really just got a few decades max before the planet is unrecognizable in significant ways you are probably thinking won't happen until centuries.

It'll be too hot for roads, solar panels, and conventional air flight much sooner than people realize. The first springs that trees fail to reproduce will honestly probably not be noticed, it won't happen everywhere, all at once, but eventually the lifecycle of much of the plant life will be so misaligned that you'll see the failures of entire areas of plant life, but by that point too, you'll probably be more aware of how silent it is outside except for cars.

We're already at the point that localized heatwaves are killing a huge, like unimaginably huge amount of land animals, and ocean acidification is preventing shelled creatures from forming or maintaining shells, all while coral reefs bleach, and fish die off due to changes in oxygenation.

I wish this sobering reality wasn't happening right now, but it is.

Honestly everything you're saying is effectively the most realistic understanding. I promise things are worse than most realize, and even worse, we're past the tipping point and have been for a long time too.

Being positive is utterly meaningless, and even worse it's harmful - don't prioritize your mental health over the reality because the prevents the selective pressure for change.

You must understand this is really that critical. We're already in for a far worse future than most understand, the question now is, well, do we do anything about it, and we won't until pretty much everyone understands how serious this is, and freaks out the requisite amount for change.

From Western media in English. You're in a cultural and linguistic bubble online where people who think like you ( or within an expected range of dissenting opinions ) post and respond.

The ideas and values you see and even have fall into a range that believe it or not is different in other communities, often segregated by language.

It's hard to explain if you're a monolinguist, but the language you speak includes ideas and cultural nuance for idea that doesn't often cross the language and cultural boundaries.

But talking out loud with words isn't action? I broadly agree with you, but by that logic it deconstructs the statement entirely.

If typing words is action, then so it's speaking, so the rules are made up and the points don't matter.

Except actions and words both matter so I think the saying is garbo.

Honestly if you're living in a Western country, you are a victim of major anti North Korean propaganda that goes all the way back to the Korean War.

Like, North Korea is nowhere near as bad as people think, and it's people are fairly happy, yes the government censors and controls media, but it also creates a unified and strong society with far less division than all these Western countries tearing themselves down the middle about which party is less evil.

Remakes and faithfulness to the original vision

I think about this from time to time, but most recently it's the Persona 3 remake that's got me thinking about it now. The original game was dark, gritty, and I'm really concerned that they're going to downplay that for the more colorful 'mainstream' style in Persona 5. I loved Persona 5, but 3 has my favorite aesthetic, my favorite 'feel'. I'm worried they now feel like the dark blue, and 'gun' motifs are more controversial now. I'm also highly disappointed that the extra content from FES and portable won't be in it, that feels like half the appeal of a remake for this title. I want to like it, but I probably won't.

With the release of Phantom Liberty, I truly hope this game is remembered fondly

Maybe I like bad games, or maybe Cyberpunk 2077 was never quite as bad as people say - I'm not sure because I unironically love Forspoken and think it's one of the best games I've ever played. I did hate on the game hard at release, and a lot of it was well deserved, trying to play it on PS4 or Xbox One ( I picked it up on both ) was actually awful and unstable, I couldn't progress past the club at the beginning of the Street Kid life path so I eventually hung it up for a while. I bought it at launch, and it was a bad launch, reminded me of the launch of No Man's Sky, except visually the game was stunning, and there was a lot more substance, but it was actually broken. I ended up giving it a real try at the end of 2021 when I managed to get my hands on an Xbox Series X and it was a drastically different game. This was before the 'next gen' patch, but it had enough fixes and ran butter smooth on the Series X that I ended up getting enthralled. Y'all this game is good. I had a great build that was frustratingly nerfed hard at the next gen patch ( RIP Overwatch ) but wow the story and world is so interesting, and I feel like this is this AI revolution story just waiting to be told in the background - it's good shit. I haven't played since the next gen patch, so all that will be new to me along with Phantom Liberty so I'm looking forward to a drastically different game than I played a year and a half ago. I think CDPR finally did it, or will have did it upon release. I can't wait.
