I think you guys should be aware that the one-way federation is only temporary, as they work out bugs and features for a future update that isn't just one-way.

Definitely trolling. These people do this to bring in engagement. It's all fake

Who would've thought using tech that rips people off would just always suck lol
Just installed Debian 12 on a Dell Inspiron 14 Plus. I know there are those out there who are curious about different machines, and especially the Dell machines that come prepackaged with Windows 11 and all the bloat you can shake a stick at. Reporting in that it works great, it's lightning fast, it required zero driver installation. It just works, right out of the box. Now I've messed with a few different Linux packages before, but I've never had it on a main machine. I've done this because I'm highly dissatisfied with Microsoft burying generative AI directly into the operating system so that you're forced to see it, if not interact with it. And who knows what it's doing with your data. Not going to be me, but now I've got to maybe find a replacement for Photoshop, and figure out how to get Steam on here, and a few of my other work programs. But all-in-all I'm extremely surprised that all I had to do was install it and I was good to go. I suppose I'll close this out with a question to start some discussion: What are your go-to apps to install right out of the box on a fresh Debian setup?

Guy who bought corporations and took credit for their ideas doesn’t know how to tool around with Windows on a laptop

An ai that poisons any trace of art or text scraped by previous ai in all of its non-consent architecture that’s being propped up much the same way nfts were as “the future”

This is unfortunately not true, but like the Bible the deadly sins were made up. An omnipresent being with no concept of humanity and life wouldn’t give two sharts if you had some ice cream twice in a day

I kind of prefer people provide context for a link before I jump into it, especially with spam converging on the fediverse and all

I don't know if I just have really good eyes for a 38 year old, but I can tell at first glance, within seconds, that this photo is AI generated. It's all about the lack of humanity in the subject's eyes

Fallout criticized most political systems. How capitalism devalues humanity to the point where they've turned you into an object of experimentation in underground bunkers while their wars destroy the world. That communism was flawed in its lust for power and dominance so much so that the end result was the same. No matter the side you're on, war never changes. And in reality, being good, and honest, and decent is up to every individual to make that decision for themselves.
Back in the good old days of gaming of 2011, back when BioWare was blowing people's minds with the Mass Effect trilogy, they had community forums. A place where fans of Dragon Age and Mass Effect could gather and speculate about what happens next. Or, pester the developers for whatever romance they believed should be in the next game. And then, after the release of Mass Effect 3, they promptly erased their forums and moved all discussions to Twitter. This effectively silenced many discussions, because by nature, Twitter is an algorithmic beast that prioritizes only certain things. With the collapse of web2, Twitter especially, I wonder if they might bring those forums back. BioWare, if you're reading this, *bring back the forums*!

So this post is an example of what conservatives mean when they want to be allowed to speak their minds without criticism. Phrenology reawakened from the grips of the third reich, lazy, sociopathic hatred.
Imagine not taking photos of strangers to talk about them on an image board for losers.

I moved to Mastodon months ago, and I tried over and over to get my closest followers to follow me over and most of them continue to stay there. Happy to say I finally deleted my Twitter account, but I can't imagine the level of addiction you've got to be on in order to sit through this.
Maybe this is an option I'm missing somewhere? I find that clicking anything in home/all is a guessing game as to whether it'll keep me here or go to a completely different website. Since I have Reddthat in a tab for easy access, this is very slightly frustrating. 😅 If it's not a feature, might I suggest opening all external links across Reddthat in a new, separate tab?

I want one of these, but at the same time I'm not sure if I want it because everyone else wants it, or because I'd actually use it (my Switch is in a storage box because I never turn it on)

The faster Twitter dies, the better. Reddit has a complicated history, but Twitter has done nothing but warp people's sense of self worth and ideas of what social media is and what their presence should be online. It's a legacy of violence upon the mind

If these numbers are coming from more than mastodon.social, I'd be very interested in hearing about how exactly they gathered that data
