SC redownloads map data if it is over 12 hours old on your device, so you're likely seeing up to date information. And you can always download manually in an area to see the absolute freshest data, if you think that's necessary.
Organic Maps doesn't update the data nearly as often, as it's not really meant for editing. That being said, unless you are in a busy area, the chances of a fellow mapper already having submitted that data since the last update in OM is slim.
At the end of the day, you should just do what is convenient for you and allows you to contribute easier.

I've lived in two separate but equal soviet era concrete blocks, and I could count on my three hands the number of times I've heard my neighbours do anything. I assume they dropped a neutron star or something.
That is except renovations... the type where they start drilling at 8am and do not stop until 6pm... those are not so rare.
I'm convinced one of our neighbours removed all of their internal walls by using a tiny drill bit to remove that much of one wall at a time. Nothing else can explain weeks of constant drilling.
I guess my point being: they had it figured out 50 years ago (except for renovations).

Neat! Now just need nested typed collections...
Also: Woah! The total number of issues+PRs is at 96K. There are 13K currently open. Just closing this many would be a good day's work, nevermind actually considering them!

Ah! I would assume the imported sources were decent enough, at least!
I think mapping them might be decent with SCEE. (Might be in normal StreetComplete as well.) You have to enable the quest type as it is disabled by default, but then it offers the quest and even displays recently used values.
That is if you know your stuff, me I would have to have a tree identification book in my other hand, so I guess a specialized app with that functionality would be neat.

6.6% of trees have the species tag filled out! That's much more than I expected!

You can block an instance via any post on it:
first blocks the user who posted
second blocks the community it was posted in
third blocks the instance the community resides in

I am relatively new as well. Someone asked for some clarification on an edit I made, and it turned out I had made a mistake.
In addition, if you leave notes, those may go without interaction for a long time. Although it is true that notes can be resolved without any further input from the original account.

I don't think that's good etiquette in such communities. I realize the privacy concerns, but what if someone wants to message you about your edits?
Not editing around such sensitive areas is a better choice IMO. Hopefully someone else will.

Every edit will have your username on it. If you edit a lot in certain areas, one might guess that you live/work around there. Other than that, I doubt there are any such considerations.
Some apps allow uploading photos when making a note. These services may not clear some of the metadata, though geolocation is already obvious from the note itself.

I checked this out when I ditched the yt frontend, but it was very limited in how many videos it could show you, and there was still no way to filter out shorts, I think.
A few ugly python scripts now take care of all that for me using newsboat.

Minute Food also recently did a video discussing the issue of describing coffee: https://youtu.be/Fk_IT1VyCiA
TL;DW: Nothing means anything. Your best bet is the flavour description, but even then "floral" suggests light while "earthy" I think suggests dark.

Kind of, actually. The graduation partay was on July 25, but if you're a no-show, they make you wait till August 22 to go get the papers. Guess they needed a summer break too, but come on!

The Linux command "ls -t" sorts by newest first, if anyone else needs a cheatsheet.
I thought to myself "yeah, like I'm going to use the command line to check it instead of a gui file manager"
Then I realized I was already going to ssh into my PC from termux because I am too lazy to get up. So... thanks.
Anyway, it is as I guessed a pdf listing the mandatory courses on the college I allegedly graduated from this summer.

Fire Hydrants are really well mapped in my city for some reason!
I tried to correct the trees in a small park, but when I was finished with half of it I looked on the other side and went "That's way too many trees" so it's kind of just sitting there half-good now... But yeah, that info being mapped is not of much use to me...
Thanks for the answer!

I use that one for finding stuff, but I had no idea you could also add places with it! The interface actually seems pretty decent!
Do you only contribute what is useful for your own use cases, or whatever you can improve the map with?
For years I was stuck with a setup where my main monitor was plugged into the GPU via HDMI, but my secondary monitor only had VGA, for which the card did not have a port. My motherboard does have one, though. Using that basically worked... with random issues popping up both now on Linux and way back in the dark times. One of these issues was that FO4 would not display correctly in full screen. It looked fine in windowed, but the cursor would be confined to the top left area of the screen, unless I had my second monitor, physically on the left, virtually on the right instead. I just inherited a new card and I took the financial hit of a cheeseburger's worth for a VGA-DisplayPort adapter, and now it works just fine in full screen!
