In a pre Trump world, probably not.
Today? I imagine a lot of republicans would love a black man saying everything Trump says to "trigger the libs".

In the UK it's illegal to pay blood or plasma donors, and I think the only time we've had a shortage is due to a cyber attack.
I think they do give you a medal or something after donating a certain number of times though.

I swear NATO is basically using the Ukrainians as cannon fodder right now. Or like suicide bombers: we don’t care if they die, as long as they take some Russians with them.
Pretty much, their goal is to weaken Russia by keeping Ukraine fighting to the last Ukrainian, not actually help Ukraine win.
If we gave Ukraine weapons to win, it would inevitably mean enough weapons for them to take Moscow, or at least get close to doing so, at which point Russia would probably launch nukes. That's ignoring the need to train them to use advanced weapons systems.

Funny how there's always a magic money tree for war, but not to stop pensioners from freezing. Guess we have to stop the Russians from taking our foodbanks.

What the hell does it matter what gender said characters identify as? Why would it matter if we had all types of Space Marines (yeah, yeah, lore, yadda-yadda, but c’mon…the Rubicon Primaris itself contradicts a whole lotta lore… it’s 40k, its lore is as stable as melted cheese), or trans characters, or agender, or anything else?
Approaching it from the opposite direction, 40k is supposed to be a dystopia, why would you want gender equality and all that nice stuff in a dystopia, unless you thought it was dystopian?

There is a post-Brexit revolution in farm subsidies under way, with billions of pounds a year being shifted from payments for simply owning or renting farmland towards “public funding for public goods”, largely nature restoration and climate protection.
I can only imagine how much it hurt a guardian journo to write something positive about brexit.

>This may seem a strange thing to say: Democracy isn't actually about finding out what the people want and just trying to do it. Democracy is about setting out a vision and a plan for the country and persuading people to follow it.

I've been away from miniature painting for a while, but I just bought the new heroquest and want to paint it. The miniatures seem to be made of a weird rubber or soft plastic that I've not used before, what kind of primer works best on these? I'm worried normal primer will just flake off. Edit: I probably should add, I'd prefer something I can shoot through my airbrush.

I'm experiencing a weird bug lately. When I'm logged in, if I follow an external link (from lemmyverse.net, for instance) to here, the tab that opens is not logged in, and stays that way even if I navigate around the instance. If I then open another new tab, and directly visit mander.xyz, I'm logged in correctly as normal. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? I don't know what could cause this or how to find out if it's a bug with lemmy, mander, or my browser config.

It's really not hard to find a way, extremely high taxes on any property vacant for more than 182 days in a year. With our current system I think you effectively get a tax discount for vacant properties. (obviously there would have to be exceptions for people in hospital/prison/etc, but the principle is sound)
What they need to find is the will to do it.

Whatever you think of the tertiary organisations, it seems like you're better off donating directly to a cause that needs it, rather than funding a bunch of middle managers to give it to someone else.

CPB Communist party of Britain, probably the largest socialist party in the country.
CPB-ML Communist party of Britain Marxist-Leninist, As the name suggests, an explicitly ML, anti revisionism, party.
CPGB-ML Communist party of Great Britain Marxist-Leninist, Another explicitly ML party.
WPB Worker's Party of Britain, George Galloway's party, has links to the CPGB-ML.
NCP New Communist Party of Britain, despite the name, one of the oldest communist parties in Britain.
RCPB-ML Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain, Hoxhaists I think.
Stalin Society, Their name pretty much says what they do.
That's all the orgs I can think of right now, I'm not very familiar with some of them.
