I think this is a bad take, and the interviewer seems to contradict himself. He suggests that Nintendo goes after companies who copy them, but also mentions another company they've sued for patent infringement for a game that didn't resemble any Nintendo property. So it seems like it has less to do with whether or not you "trigger the wrath of Nintendo", and more whether you use their patents or not.

It should be noted that this is all just conjecture from somebody not related to the case at all. Nothing in this interview reveals any details about the actual case in question.

I'm gonna be honest with you, there's probably some red flags that your doctor saw that perhaps you're unaware of. You say living in your van is a choice; are you being honest with yourself about that? Are you actually taking care of your hygiene this way?

Because one red flag I'm seeing is a van-dweller making a doctor's appointment in the first place. Usually nomadic/hermitic people (as in, those who choose to live off the grid and aren't doing so as a matter of circumstance) generally don't go to the doctor, unless something is really wrong. So for you to show up in a doctor's office at all is already anomalous in the first place.

It shouldn't be understated just how important basic things like access to clean running water can be. And you're using the words "van" and "SUV", and not "RV" or "motorhome", which leads me to believe that you aren't taking care of some basic needs.

If you're truly taking care of yourself and being healthy, then more power to ya; I'm honestly a little jealous of those who can live that life. But if you're actually struggling, you should probably consider taking a look at the paperwork they gave you. Don't get pride get in the way of getting help.

An absolute waste of time, money, and sanity. Unusable UI, no soundtrack to speak of, doesn't support gyro aiming, and will be a major factor in your upcoming divorce. There's almost no replay value; you get one, single permadeath run until next year's expansion releases, and the consequences for a bad run can land you with criminal charges. There are many game-breaking exploits that can only be utilized by the most expensive of gaming PCs, so poor players will still have to follow all of the rules. Despite being sold as "free-to-play", you are stopped every 10 minutes with an advertisement to buy the Audit Protection DLC. Avoid this game at all costs.

I've been getting back into playing The Finals lately. Kinda similar to Splitgate, in that the mechanics are easy to understand and mastering them will yield you a lot of fun and victory. The movement is very snappy, there's a lot of variety in how you can play, and matches are relatively quick.

It's an objective-based shooter, so you won't win just by getting kills; you have to complete a specific goal before your enemies to actually win. So it's a bit like Overwatch or TF2 in that regard (kinda dated references, I know) in terms of goals and a player's abilities. And the gunplay feels very much like Battlefield, which would make sense because ex-DICE devs worked on this game, I believe. It's also got crossplay.

It's got a seasonal/live service model for cosmetics. The battle pass and any other MTX are all only for cosmetics, though; unlocking weapons/abilities can only be done through gameplay, with no skip mechanics. So no weapons, abilities, maps, game modes, etc can be bought with real money at all. Figured I'd mention, since I know that's a turnoff for a lot of people, but I've been enjoying it as a free player.

Nah he's just always had no self awareness when it comes to the noises he makes. I miss the arcade-y feel of older racing games. Everything these days tries too hard to be a simulator, that they end up stripping the fun out of it. I want sparks to fly out of my tires when I drift even though they're rubber and wouldn't actually do that, I want wacky announcers with color commentary, I don't want to shift gears.

I want games like Ridge Racer and Need for Speed to make a comeback.

My stepdad would eat bananas with his mouth wide open as he chewed. And he'd chew each bite for a solid minute before swallowing. Even though it's a banana and you can literally just mash it agains the roof of your mouth with your tongue. He would do this as he was driving, so I think he'd just get distracted and forget that he was still chewing food. But it made every ride to school in the morning an absolute living hell.

This is a really interesting situation. Even though this isn't a content update, it's still a pretty significant update for a game that has nobody left on the development team, which is almost a "ghost in the shell" scenario on its own. I'm guessing the work from this was done largely by Intel and/or AMD. And it makes sense why they'd be pushing out updates for a game that the studio has stopped working on; people still use CP77 to show off the capabilities of their high-end PCs, which is free advertising for these guys.

I just love that we got to see Cyberpunk go from "so broken that it was pulled from stores" to "THE benchmark game".

I'll be real, I think this is more of a problem with Fandom than Google. Fandom has been abusing the fuck out of their SEO lately, and manage to push their shitty site to the top results on almost any fiction media-related search you do now.

Yeah, Google's AI got the preview wrong, but it probably wouldn't have happened if Fandom wasn't constantly injecting themselves into every single search. They allow users to post anything they want, without any vetting, and then push those inaccurate posts to the search engines.

Half the time, the page on Fandom is a 100% copy/paste of the page from Wikipedia, except with a thousand ads littering the page. Guess which one shows up first in the search results, though?

Since the artist was commissioned by Bungie to make the original concept art in question, I believe that Bungie still retains ownership of the copyright, since the work was created under Bungie's employ.

That said, it's not uncommon for these types of commission contracts to stipulate that the artist retains some rights to the works they create. It varies from contract to contract, though. Sometimes they just require that the original artist is credited in any further usage of the piece, sometimes they require the artist earns royalties from any sales of the piece, etc. Or, he could've also just taken a fat stack of cash for zero ownership, which isn't totally unheard of.

If I had to guess, I'd say funding and plausible deniability are the big reasons. The longer the war wages on, the longer the US and other allies keep sending them money and weapons. And killing them off slowly makes it easier to argue to the ICC that you weren't trying to commit genocide, it just kinda happened as an oh-so-unfortunate side-effect of defending themselves.
