I think it's important to recognize that it's not necessarily "government" but individuals in government who have pushed for this and followers that went along with it
like, I also am curious why those individual leaders aren't sued when certain things go wrong rather than the government itself - aren't some of these million dollar settlements just paid by taxpayers?
I think recognizing the responsibility of the individual, even when each person shares different responsibilities related to different issues, is a good step towards accountability

a couple things with this:
I was wondering what the pre-covid rates were, and I thought I saw like 75% in some cases
still would make me wonder what's driving the extra percentage, if we take the theory that covid is fake
secondly the shortages are artificially created a bit by market distortions - if we had less regulations and taxes, people would be free to create more hospitals and to work these jobs without degree mandates and so there would be less of a strain and load on the medical infrastructure altogether

ehhh it's mostly about marketing, a kind of catch 22 situation - it's there enough for a lot of needs, and the desires that people have beyond what's available could probably be added in if more people started using it

I think some have argued not to vax old people because there can be worse complications from a vax, but like what about antibodies or some other treatment?
I admit I only follow some of these things so closely but I have been unimpressed with the current "vaccines", and with vaccines in general.
There seems to be, to me, very little substitution for diet, exercise, and other things like that - I guess I have more of a mindset of just to do a lot of those other things and then if people die if they're old, then that's just a natural limit. They could still die with a vax anyway. But, they're also old so if they want to risk it with a vax, I suppose why not as well? I probably wouldn't be as interested personally.

better viewer interface
ok so to me essentially this would have three components:
a user interface like these apps use
a forum like lemmy you could post links to these vids or pics to but without communities (but it could not have the same UI look that we have here on wolfballs)
and then being able to tag them so you could sort through them
(and well some way to fund a spike in users making use of something like catbox if more people were to become interested)

someone really needs to do it to me for multiple reasons, because it's getting a lot of good content out there and a lot of people like the format - there are some clones of it, idk how much traction they get
I was thinking about how unnecessarily resource intensive videos are, I can get my point across in something like a twitter format instead - text takes so much less bandwidth than videos - it's almost like our technological progress is just enabling bloat and misuse of our new abilities

In [the other post](https://wolfballs.com/post/2598) I linked to an article arguing that RSS was the fastest way to "consoom" content on the internet, which I somewhat intuitively agree with - I requested Ruqqus support RSS but they never did Lemmy has RSS support, it's the little button in the top of each page that kind of looks like a sideways wifi signal or echoes. You can copy the link and paste as a new subscription in an RSS reader. The main advantage is that, on a typical page I can see maybe 3 or 4 posts depending on how much I minimize / maximize the page - with a RSS feed I can see the title of a dozen or more - you can read through the main point of posts much quicker. Problem is, RSS is just for reading - I can't comment on the post. Probably can't see comments either. Ideally then an RSS reader extension that allows me to comment on the post, or a user interface mode that looks like an RSS reader is what I have in mind as more ideal. So I don't have a clear request necessarily so much as to think of if the RSS model is useful for UI or personal "consoomption" of content across sites.
Found this link on win, basically this was what I was trying to get at - for reading posts fastest I like an RSS feed, so a hybrid RSS reader that allows me to post would probably be my ideal (making a separate post to mention that in [!development](https://wolfballs.com/c/development)

If you go to the [communities page](https://wolfballs.com/communities), like half of the communities have custom icons and banners, which prevents the listings from looking uniform (ones that don't have icons simply have no icon next to them, while ones that do have icons next to them) The wolfballs wolf icon like in the top left corner could be a default logo until user changes it if you want uniformity Pros: uniformity on communities page Cons: no banner or icon can look nice too on the actual community page
Sometimes like if I have a notification on something someone commented towards me, I can check it, clear it, and the notification bell might continue to display a number when I go to another page on the forum even though it shouldn't have any number there any longer
