I understand people don't like him, but after watching my mom die of dementia it's a little hard to stomach just how cruel people are here about this.

No, it's real life. I mean yeah I know the sketch, but I was in Crater Lake and heard people actually talking like that.

Yeah it definitely seems like there's some selection bias in the responses. Maybe we need an anonymous poll.

Then he’ll say well next time take the 5 for 3.9 miles, then hop on 78 until you see the 420 then do a triple lane change to the 69 then you’re home.
Without even knowing where those roads are I see you are on the West Coast.

And where are you from? And how old? Not "do you" but just if you know how. I'm in the US, mid 30s and can (and do) drive a manual transmission.

I miss my MME, but if you are saying ICEs are obsolete then you haven't explored much of the country. There are huge swatches where it is impossible to charge or far more expensive to change than using gas in a hybrid.

Honestly I recommend it even if you aren't into his comedy. It's a bit thick in the first half of the first season, but it becomes a decent sci-fi show in general past that point.

Little bit of a strange article.
First, it's about data transfer speeds. I don't think... anyone else in my extended family, and certainly none of the iPhone users, use a cable to transfer data frequently.
But more importantly - the subtitle of the article says that only the pro models offer faster charging speeds. Despite the article being exclusively about data transfer speeds.

I use Firefox everywhere, but there are a few main issues that stop me from converting people...
- The lack of tab groups. This seems silly, but most people I know, especially on mobile, keep a lot of tabs open. If they're researching something, or shopping for something they'll leave 20 tabs open. Having that in one tab group in Chrome is a better way to organize than just tons of tabs.
- Sites that don't work well on Firefox. Again, specifically on mobile I run into sites that work on Chrome but not on Firefox.
- General stability issues. I need to force close Firefox once or twice a day because it will just fail to load pages.

It looks like it changed last year, but the UK. The law was previously that pedestrians in a crosswalk should wait until it was clear to start crossing, as opposed to cars should stop if someone is waiting to cross.

In most states in the US, if the automobile traffic has the green light and the pedestrian traffic has a "don't walk" sign, then the pedestrians are supposed to yield to the cars.

Honest but unpopular answer? He might believe he can make more money holding on to the $180k. It's the same reason why I would take a 2% car loan even if I had enough to buy the car outright. I can make more than 2% just keeping that money in a mutual fund.

What an odd trailer for what this patch is. Going back to the Reddit post that kicked it off feels like something you do for a 1.0 release. And the rhykker clip is specifically referencing content that is not part of this patch.
It was completely irrelevant sound bites set over some video of a Runemaster running around casting some spells.
Discovered these guys at a festival last year. The whole album is great but this is one of my favorites.
I've been using inoreader and decided to move to something local instead of cloud based. I found feeder and it is decent, but has one major annoyance for me. The "compact" view that gives you the title and a short blurb gives you uneven rows, and the other options (card and super compact) do not offer the same info. Are there any other FOSS (or even just local, not cloud based, apps) that have what I'm looking for? I'm happy to pay a few bucks, I just don't want features locked behind a subscription.
Is there a way to enable browser notifications on lemm.ee? I'm on Firefox for Android if it matters. Lemmy.world prompted me for permission the first time I received a notification over there, but I did not see anything here.
Odd ask, I know, but is there a way to make a "multi-community" view? To give you a specific example, I am looking at Steam Deck communities and there are two pretty active communities on two different instances. Is there a way to create a view that shows me posts from both (but not just generally merging all my subscribed communities)? I primarily use Android so an app would be a fine solution if that exists.
