Not the craziest catalyst for Thorn, but I'm still excited! One of my favorite guns and I prefer it over Osteo. I bet it's great after the HC buffs, too.
You will *not* get banned for doing it as Bungie doesn't issue bans for in-game exploits. You *will* be banned for any sort of hacking, external cheats, network tampering, etc.

We got through the first three encounters easily - Abyss in three attempts, Bridge in an hour or two, Ir Yût in two hours or so. Then we tried Crota for twelve hours until 8am until it wasn't worth it anymore and we went to sleep.
The worst part? Here's a screenshot from our very first final stand:
That expunge was so important on contest mode, but we just could never keep people alive to utilize it. If we had it, we probably would've beat him on that first final stand.

Featured this week: - Crota’s End raid and Bungie Rewards. - Iron Banner dates. - Turtle power. - Cabbage patch. - But what about Stasis? - Prime Gaming update. - Player Support Report. - The #Destiny2AOTW and #Destiny2MOTW picks. ---------- This TWID includes details for tomorrow's return of Corta's End. A list of disabled items is here: - Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle - Warlock Weavewalk Aspect (currently disabled in all raids and PvP activities) - Titan Banner of War Aspect - Foetracer Exotic Hunter Helmet - Elemental Munitions Mod ***Edit:*** - The list was quietly updated to include overload hand cannons Also, anybody that completes the raid during the 48 hour contest mode period is *guaranteed* to get the Necrochasm quest drop *including* every reward (Husk of the Pit, fully masterworked Eidolon Ally, and Necrochasm). It's worse. At least with the API down you can go to the vault, swap characters, etc. But loadouts are just gone now. You can use DIM loadouts, but I don't have my normal ones saved on there too, and I can't remember everything I use exactly. Hoping this gets fixed soon!

God that brings back memories. I mainly used it for Halo CE back on Windows XP still in like 09-10. Joined a clan through Xfire that I played with a bunch. Used it a little for Minecraft too! Those days on CE were the best.
A sad day for Warlocks

Definitely why, it just dampens the momentum slightly. It totally makes sense, I just wish there was a different way they could do it without making you hold a button in between every kill. It's the physical action of that between every melee activation that gets really repetitive.
I messed around with it for an evening before moving to another build (can't wait for loadouts to be fixed!) and I really enjoyed it. I paired it with Winter's Guile for some crazy numbers. ~590k on a red bar! I did it on Strand with the new aspect, so I had woven mail up and full melee energy (because you mainly use the bayonet anyway) to have an escape card for when you get a bit too in the fray of things. My only issue is chaining kills with it. If you get a bayonet kill, it gives you five stacks of Markov Chain, allowing you to activate it again, which is great. It gets a bit tiring doing it over and over. I wish they'd change it so getting a kill with it simply extends it, and just doing damage with no kill resets it.

I personally am very excited for this. It seems like they held back a lot of TFS info, which is good in my opinion. We know the basic premise, location, etc., and now I'm pumped to play it. I also appreciate how even though this reveal was disclosed by Joe as being for the widest audience possible, they still include the fact that the final showdown with the Witness is in the raid and not the main campaign. I think they're really pushing raids to a larger audience with that and the LFG system coming in season 23.
Also, all the new weapons are very exciting. Unique subfamilies, support/healing legendaries, Dragon's Breath!. The other returning D1 exotics are super exciting as well. The legendaries are very exciting though; I'm curious how good they'll be and how much they'll shake things up. Hopefully the healing stuff will coincide with a UI overhaul that Joe hinted at? Maybe seeing ally health bars to incentivize team healing? Please?

You could already tell with Root of Nightmares and Ghosts of the Deep looking back, but this armor just confirms that focus. I love this direction so much! I also agree with the Warlock, though we'll just have to wait and see in-game. I'm hoping this angle just doesn't show it off that much, and I hope it's got some good flower action going on.
# Eyes up, Guardians. It's finally time to see what Bungie has in store with The Final Shape, the conclusion to Destiny's Light and Dark saga, as well as Season 22, which also launches today. Someone on Reddit said the same thing, and the replies were that it was a bug and shouldn't happen this time.
From this week's TWID: > As we approach the end of Season of the Deep, players should make sure to claim all engrams and other rewards before the new Season begins. **Any rewards not claimed from non-Seasonal vendors will be removed at the beginning of the next Season.** > > Players should ensure that they have collected any earned but unclaimed rewards from their Previous Season Pass page for Season of Defiance. > > **Previous Season Pass rewards can only be claimed up to one Season after it concludes.** Once we transition into Season 22 on August 22, 2023, the Previous Season Pass page will be updated for Season of the Deep rewards. TL;DR: claim any vendor engrams from the Tower as they'll be reset on Tuesday. Claim any season pass rewards from Season 20 (Season of Defiance) [here](https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Seasons/Progress).

Same, though I typically try to only purchase on Bandcamp Friday anyway just to further support artists. I mainly use Spotify and just make Bandcamp purchases for stuff that Spotify doesn't have, which is typically small bands, so it's worth it to wait.
Excuse the meh photos, but my pup Tippy should make up for them. Did my first ever mods and went all-in with a complete replacement of everything on a SSS Bullet Strat. Here's what I did: -SSL-1 Vintage Staggered in the neck -SSL-1 Vintage Staggered RWRP in the middle -SH-6b Distortion in the bridge -CTS 500k push-pull tone pot to coil split the Distortion -CTS 250k pots for the other tone and volume -Fender five-way switch (to replace the Squier import switch) -Copper shielding on the pickguard and control cavity -Abalone pearl pickguard -Treble bleed circuit on the volume pot ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/11fb3ff8-761b-411d-b3c9-4c16a8ed1007.jpeg) Next round of upgrades will be tuners, attention to the frets, etc, though this guitar already plays just as well or maybe even better (IMO) than my Player Telecaster. The Distortion is perfect for my typical black metal, and coil splitting gives it tons of versatility for the other genres I like such as shoegaze, emo, and more.
Lots of great stuff here. Tons of tuning, exotic adjustments, and more. They've included a video preview of the Monte Carlo catalyst, the most complex they've done, and yes, it's exactly what you think! And Touch of Malice, my beloved, is getting a nice buff. Anyway, too much for me to add here, so dive in and point out your highlights in the comments.
I have a Lake Placid Blue Bullet Strat SSS HT arriving today that I bought (brand new) as my first guitar to modify. I'm also waiting on a new pickguard and a Seymour Duncan SH-6 to arrive as my first change. After that, I'm going to look into single coils to put in the neck and middle positions. I mainly play black metal (hence the SH-6), but also shoegaze, emo, goth, and general rock and stuff. So, any suggestions for things to do? Could be for the guitar in general, or those specific genres. Any suggestions are welcome!

I wanted to make this post to remind you all of two things going on for Bungie day! First, there's the fishing derbies taking place today, with two more coming as of this post. Taken from the 7/6/23 TWID yesterday, here's some details for those interested in competing: ---------- ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/c83d1583-dd86-43a2-812f-f739567a5157.jpeg) As part of our Bungie Day celebration, we’ve got a series of community fishing derbies for players to compete in for those that want to really dive deep into this Season’s fun. To compete, Guardians will need to catch as many fish as possible within a given time frame. There will be five fishing derbies, which will be one hour each, spread out throughout the day to help you find a good time to participate: - Alpha Derby at 2 AM PST at 2 AM PST - Bravo Derby at 6 AM PST at 6 AM PST - Charlie Derby at 10 AM PSTat 10 AM PST - Delta Derby at 2 PM PSTat 2 PM PST - Echo Derby at 6 PM PSTat 6 PM PST The top three scorers from each of the five derbies will be highlighted in next week’s TWID as well as receive a special Bungie Foundation Digital Prize Pack that contains the following items: - **Heartful Shell Exotic Ghost**, fully equipped with heart bubbles galore. - **Blue Blood Cells**, this year’s Bungie Day Giving Festival emblem. - **Helium Hearts**, give your bestie something to lift their spirits. - **Bungie Day emblem bundle**. Every Bungie Day emblem released over the past five years. If one person wins multiple derbies, we will award the next highest scorer. With the Lucky Perk that went live at reset this week, you’ll have a chance to catch double the number of Exotic fish while scoping out your favorite hot spots for some chill time. Ready to tally up? Here’s what you need to know on the scoring: - **Junk** = 0 points - **Uncommon** = 1 point - **Rare** = 2 points - **Legendary** = 5 points - **Exotic** = 20 points Oh, and did we mention increased reputation gains across the board for Rituals until July 11? Because that’s pretty sweet too. ---------- And of course, the Bungie Foundation is running a whole bunch of stuff for charity. You can read the [Bungie Day Giving Festival](https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/bungie-day-2023-giving-fest) article here, which goes into full detail of what's going on, what rewards are offered, and more. For those that don't know what the Bungie Foundation does, here's an excerpt from the article detailing some of the work they've done, as well as some of the goodies you can receive for donating: ---------- Before we chat shiny things, we want to talk about the real-world impact your support is having in the world. We finished 2022 raising more than $5 million for charity across all campaigns. Simply put, that is astounding! Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generosity. Your support enabled us to onboard three new partner hospitals into the [Little Lights program](https://bungiefoundation.org/littlelights/), which provides pediatric patients with iPads containing age-appropriate entertainment, therapeutic play, and education applications to provide comfort, distraction, and a sense of normalcy to their hospital experience. You also ensured that we could continue our funding of the groundbreaking anti-racist character creation research, led by the talented team at Yale University, and you helped us provide STEM scholarships to incoming freshmen who would otherwise be unable to afford a college education. And you provided life-saving funding for low-income communities around the world who have been – and will be – impacted by natural or socio-political crisis. When 2023 started out with the devasting earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the Bungie community immediately leapt into action. In less than a week, you raised over $300,000 that went directly to life-saving relief efforts through our partners [Direct Relief](https://www.directrelief.org/) and [International Rescue Committee](https://www.rescue.org/). Most recently, the community truly embodied the call to “Stand with Asians” with your support of the Harmonic Waves emblem, raising over $100,000 for [International Community Health Services](https://www.ichs.com/). ---------- ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/da41c8c2-68c3-4742-adb8-b47a0020f199.png) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/6427f963-3ad3-447f-b645-16e33325e9d9.png) ---------- And with that, I wish you all a wonderful 7/7! Go forth and donate, and celebrate the wonderful gaming experiences Bungie has created for us with Destiny, Halo, Marathon, and more.
Happy Bungie Day! # **Location: Tower Hangar** # Exotic Weapons: - **Coldheart** - **Dead Man's Tale** - Smallbore / Ricochet Rounds / Vorpal Weapon / Fitted Stock - **Hawkmoon** - Hammer-Forged Rifling / Eye of the Storm / Textured Grip # Exotic Armor: *Note: I'm a Warlock main; don't expect my roll takes for Hunter and Titan to mean anything* - **Warlock**: Wings of Sacred Dawn - 17 Mobility, 15 Intellect, 67 total. Pass. - **Hunter**: Wormhusk Crown - 17 Mobility, 26 Strength. Pretty decent? - **Titan**: Stronghold - 20 Resilience, 16 Discipline, 16 Strength. Grab these. # Legendary Weapons: - **Whispering Slab** - Kinetic Bow - Quickdraw / Demolitionist - **Cold Denial** - Kinetic Pulse - Feeding Frenzy / Swashbuckler - **Hoosegow** - Arc Rocket Launcher - Auto-Loading Holster / Cluster Bomb - **Night Watch** - Kinetic Scout Rifle - Outlaw / Multikill Clip - **Fractethyst** - Stasis Shotgun - Full Auto Trigger System / Thresh - **Extraordinary Rendition** - Kinetic SMG - Overflow / Tap the Trigger - **Path of Least Resistance** - Arc Trace Rifle - Stats for All / One for All # Legendary Armor: **Ketchkiller's Armor Set** - S18, Season of Plunder armor set ---------- Standouts to me are Stronghold for Titans, and Path of Least Resistance. Scoop this up if you still need a Trace Rifle for double special! Great roll out of the box, too. The Hoosegow is a solid rocket for general use. Night Watch has a solid roll as well.
only slightly upset there's no Maiden here
[Video for those who haven't done it yet.](https://youtu.be/diJI2nYyUOc) I need to use it more, but so far, I'm actually quite enjoying it. It doesn't seem super strong or anything (especially when something like Ager's Scepter exists), but it seems pretty solid. Feels like a solid workhorse gun to me. Once we're able to get the catalyst (correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody's gotten it yet), it'll be pretty nice in a stasis shard setup. My one wish is that it got a damage boost from collecting shards as well, because never reloading is nice, but feels slightly lacking. It would also fit the theme of the gun, being a gift from Xivu Arath to basically tithe as the Hive do with the sword logic. The thing making me want to use it a lot going forward is the look. It looks simply amazing; very unique styling. It almost reminds me of [Alchemist's Raiment](https://destiny.fandom.com/wiki/Alchemist%27s_Raiment) from D1 with the lights. What does everyone else think of it?
I hope we continue to see growth in numbers and activity as Lemmy grows and as more people come here from Reddit! Thank you everyone for contributing and being a great community!
Brand new album from the legendary NONE
I've mained my Warlock since day one of the D1 beta. I've mained Voidwalker specifically since the first gameplay reveal where they used Nova Bomb. I've essentially never used Contraverse Hold, however, even though I know they're one of the best exotics for Warlocks. I threw them on recently after my best friend (and fellow moderator of this community) started using them. Mostly cause we wanted to do cool matching outfits. But man, I've been missing out I've learned. I've always used Nezarec's Sin and Ruinous Effigy on void, and for harder activities, I usually just use Well. When I tried Contraverse before, it was in easier activities, where it's more difficult to really see the full benefits of it. Now that I've tried it in some harder stuff, I see how great it can be. Throw in weakening grenades and volatile along with CO and some surges and you've got a killer loadout. That's all, just wanted to share the wonder of trying new builds! I usually go for more gimmicky/low tier builds, so trying out a meta build was fresh for me.
Anyone else going to the Choirs shows on Philadelphia in September?
Another banger of a lore video from Byf outlining Ahsa's messages and this week's cutscene, as well as some possible hints about these revelations from as far back as Curse of Osiris. I'm very excited to see what other videos and explanations come from this new information.
> We've discovered that an external vendor that helped to create this cutscene mistakenly used this art as a reference, assuming it was official Bungie art. > > We have reached out to the artist to apologize for the mix-up and to credit and compensate them for their awesome work. Art submitted to bungie.net gives Bungie full rights to use it however they like, so they didn't need to do this. Nice to see them doing the right thing and resolve it and credit the original artist.
A few highlights: * There is a radio station in certain areas (probably the main cities) * No ground vehicles * Fully scanning/researching a planet nets money * 10% of planets have life * Stolen ships are fully upgradable, but require registration which costs money * Both in-depth ship building and outpost building are for late game; ship upgrades can be done any time, but the in-depth builder is much more expensive * The inside of your ship is customizable and reflects the outside/modules you use
