Tannenbaum is fucking asshole. Isn't he the idiot that told Torvalds "you certainly would have failed my class if you submitted your OS as a final project?"
The guy deserves no respect.

Ugh... It is so stupid.
Women are much more likely to be physically hurt by a male partner than a (totally safe 🙄) bear because (I know, shocker) women spend a lot more time around male partners than bears.

The liberty they believe in is different than the more common use of the word, perhaps.
"liberty to" rather than "liberty from".

Yeah... I only use Debian server side. Despite it's flaws I'd say Ubuntu is the better desktop option if you don't want to go down the whole Arch route.

Not really. The alt-right isn't a new thing anymore, it isn't growing by leaps and bounds, and it generally isn't fascist by any historical definition of the term.

Ah yes, policies that would have been considered downright progressive 70 years ago are apparently a dictatorship today.
Say what you will about American policies in the 50s, yes they were racist, yes they were sexist, and many other things. But I don't believe it is really arguable that the US was a dictatorship at that time. Less democratic than it is currently, sure. Not a dictatorship.

I'm more inclined to not be annoyed too much by ads on podcasts where you know it's just some guy or gal getting compensated for the work they are putting into their podcast. That said, maybe I'm getting way fewer ads on Antennapod because of said adblocking, not sure.
I will say, it has a bug where it will not work in a work profile. You can install it but it won't playback. Which is annoying. But for me it is a small complaint.

No. They have different values than you. You can call their values cruel and perhaps call them cruel for having them, I may agree with you. But it is absolutely wrong to call these people dumb.

And for those living in the US with Androids.

Just why. This was like the third time it reminded me that I shouldn't have the phone I have. I really don't understand the public desire to make these AIs like this.
I was wondering if anyone here knew how to create a "curly" apostrophe in LaTeX without having to type out the unicode character for it. I know that the csquotes package is an option, but this only appears to allow making curly single and double quote pairs. I don't want quotes. I want a curly, *single* apostrophe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do any of you fine people know what might be going on here? Leaves are falling like crazy and the frankly looks sick. The plant did have aphids for a bit but that is taken care of now. The problem began before I noticed the aphids and has continued now that they are gone. I fear the poor thing may be dying. Sorry if the image orientation is off.
