I was thinking this is actually thinner than sock yarn. Looks very similar to the lacy doilies that my grandmothers made of something more like 0 or 1. The connecting bits are actually braided or single crochet…so from a distance it looks like thicker yarn than it is. Either way…I love this and kinda want one now.

Good point. Though I haven’t had any cross platform issues myself with Switch. I use realms to play with a friend that uses Xbox.

Oh I know. It is just a ridiculous oversight. Compatibility could have easily been hidden for the page and it would have made more sense lol. This is just poor website implementation. Harmless but also makes them look dumb and pretentious 🤣

I appreciate the randomness and the fact that the polishing cloth is only backwards compatible to the iPhone 5 and iPad 4th gen. No mention of any other devices prior to like 2012 which is kinda funny honestly. It is a polishing cloth. I could use it to dust the display of my Philco Predicta and it would do just fine 😂 (not that I have one…just providing a ridiculous example).

Two things for me… pomodoro method and the mantra “Don’t put it down. Put it away.” Pomodoro got me through college and made hyperfocusing on assignments seem like more of a choice. The mantra? It is part of my inner dialogue all the time lol. I tend to put things where ever and wouldn’t you know it? In a day my home is a mess. So once I heard the suggestion I took it to heart and it does actually really help me remember WHY to put things away. Because the “oh I will grab it and put it away later” is a lie.

This got me through college. As someone who gets easily overwhelmed by large tasks, saying to myself that I will only work on it for 20 minutes (I do a 20/10 split) made things manageable and also it kept me from gluing myself to the chair unless I wanted to do it which made it seem more like a choice. I would frequently get through a few intervals and then keep skipping the breaks as I got nearer to the end of the task. I highly recommend this technique to people!

Therapy? I react badly to all ADHD medications so I am not medicated for it. What has helped me the most is working through things with a therapist who also helped me with implementing coping mechanisms. Things like pomodoro method (this got me through college!), organizers at “drop spots,” and learning how to self talk made a huge difference for me. It is not impossible to do well without meds…it is just harder.

The best solution I have seen to this was the guy I worked with, sick of people shaking the doors repeatedly while we were redoing signage after close exclaimed at some door shakers: “what the fuck you doing bro?!” Those of us in the store lost it and the customers walked away embarrassed. From your comment, I can tell you have not had a job that works with the general population directly like retail. You lose patience pretty quickly with others trying to complain to get their way, push boundaries, and sometimes just be assholes. You should try it sometime. It is quite enlightening.

BLAT. Bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato. Best with a hearty or sweet bread type. My preferred is sweet rye. No condiments needed…just spread the avocado for the texture and added flavor. Husband prefers the bread toasted, but I like it pan fried in butter.

Last time I shopped at a big lots, the product quality was that of a dollar store or worse. The hose I purchased is the worst hose I have ever owned and the other items I purchased recently broke. I haven’t been back since because the value that they used to provide just isn’t there anymore. Big Lots used to be the place to go for cheap but still decent quality. Now it is just trash.

I have played it on the Sony Vita, Nintendo Switch, new 3DS/2DS XL, and Retroid Pocket 4. The retroid I still have not figured out how to map the controls well and it is a bit glitchy (using the android app version of Minecraft). So based on my experience…if you care about the latest OS and Minecraft version…the switch. If you don’t care about the OS or Minecraft version, the Vita was a great experience.

A lot of what you say resonates with me. Perhaps something that has helped me greatly may be of use to you.
Know and accept what you can control. It is the only way to be happy, fulfilled, and passionate. When I was younger, I wanted to change the world. As I got older, I started to be depressed (for many reasons) but this one thing really changed me long term. An individual has no control over their peers, strangers, or even family. They may be able to sway some opinion but other people in the end have full control of their own path. The only person you can control is yourself.
This idea may seem disheartening at first, but it is the truth. Learning how to work with this limitation is a sign of great self-awareness.
An example for me: I cannot as an individual save the planet. Can I take some action to do so? Yes. Can I speak to others about my concerns? Yes. Does that matter? Yes. Knowing that is the extent of what I can do is imperative and it sounds like though you understand some of the concept of the limitations of your influence and control, you have not yet accepted it.
Limitations of influence and control are not a burden, but rather is a freedom! Imagine trying to bear the weight of the world! Knowing and accepting that one individual is limited in control is a relief as worrying about others you cannot influence is draining and only will drag you down.
I hope these thoughts are helpful. It took me years to start to actually put these thoughts into practice and I have been a lot happier since. Therapy can also help if you have a good person to speak with.

Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries. Buy once, let them grow! Not exotic, but sweet and delicious. They are perennials but do not require being taken inside during winter. On my next to buy list is a plum tree and pawpaw tree…

Was on the way home early and was coming up on an SUV that seemed hesitant at a major highway interchange between three highways at once….they stopped in their lane towards the middle of the road. Completely stopped. On a 65mph highway. I got over since they were in my lane and of course honked because wtf? Still blown away that someone would stop on a highway. They are lucky it was not rush hour quite yet.

I have been happy with my Kobo Libra Colour I picked up after the terrible experience with Boox. I wish a phone sized option was available from Kobo but I have been enjoying the option to use a stylus more than I expected.

Boox Palma. Got one for myself as a treat and upgrade to my aging Kobo and the screen broke within 24 hours. I have never broken a screen. Support immediately told me it was “pressure” and that it wasn’t covered. I was very careful with it so no…I really don’t believe them. If the screen is THAT fragile…no interest. Planning on selling the ewaste at a yard sale. No way am I giving them money to fix an already flawed product.

They make three wheeled bikes. Frequently they are set up as cargo bikes. Also some recumbent bikes have three wheels (sometimes double front, sometimes double back). I looked into a cargo trike when I was bike shopping but ended up with a cruiser with baskets and a trailer. A trike sounds like something that may work for your sister though!

This is really good for a person starting out with a DSLR. You have a great composition here. I recommend learning by experimentation and inquiring with others. A lot of photography concepts are covered well on YouTube. I learned a lot from Ken Rockwell though I know a lot of people don’t care for him. One thing to invest in is a good tripod. Take the same photo with multiple settings until you find what you want. Though knowing techniques is good and desirable, a lot of decisions are subjective to you as the photographer.

I bought a Boox Palma. The screen cracked on the first day. I wholeheartedly do not recommend them as a company as their customer support response is always “not our fault.” A quick google will find others who had the same experience I did.
I am an IT professional. I have had Kindles and Kobos and have NEVER had a screen break on any device. This company needs to be called out and boycotted.
Per the post…Android itself is old, yes…but they never promised security updates…only updates to the firmware. I don’t have a problem with this. Retroid is similar in that their devices are not current android, though not nearly as bad as Boox. It all depends on how you use a device as to if this is really an issue or not.

While this is stereotypically true, my grandparents that passed away 14 years ago were avid gamers. They adored their NES and bought a SNES when the NES died. I think it is worth inquiring with local nursing homes to see if they have anyone that has gaming experience. My grandma’s favorite game was Loopz. Grandpa’s was golf. Puzzle games especially are good for that age group as they keep the brain busy but don’t necessarily require adept fine motor speed like other genres.

100% this. I found the book “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brene Brown to be very helpful with mentally working through this. I still feel guilt occasionally but knowing that I am the way I am and that guilt does not provide a productive resolution to the “problem” typically is enough to pull me through.

I looked up my statistic from healthline which cited some study. I imagine a big part of the difference is the healthcare system. People are gonna be less likely to go to the doctor for the symptoms in the US unless they have money or are desperate for a solution. Others, like myself, figured it out ourselves by process of elimination and might not show on statistics because of that.

Those look sick. I haven’t delved much into patching but the black system iii looks like a ton of fun. Haven’t seen the MEGAfm. How would you describe it?
1998 US with fender lace golds in neck and middle…Seymour Duncan of some sort in the bridge. Plays and sounds a dream! Color is Plum Purple Metallic. Here it is next to my Jazzmaster.
Found a great deal at a used gear shop…actually a new unit open box. Digging the workflow and vibe. Already recorded a few tracks with it!
I haven’t touched my Tele or Les Paul since I got this. So versatile and sexy to boot!
Upgraded from a Squier. Lucked out with a used AC4 combo too. It is just a MIM but perfect for me. Plays well, very sweet Tele tone, and hopefully inspires me to get past the basic skills I have at the moment on guitar.
Looks like an interesting idea. I like the daisy chain option. Analog, portable, and $500. Not bad. Curious what you all think?
Picked up this little guy last week and have already cleared the presets and started making my own. Any tips or fun stories about Microfreaks?
I’ve used this on the Switch and it is pretty neat. It would be pretty awesome if the VR implementation is good enough!
Wonder how this idea will be long term? Losing come cables would be awfully convenient for those who perform or have smaller spaces especially.
Which one? For the sake of theoretical questions …let’s assume you could have any synth…not just what you already own.
Sounds like they are goners. Hope they didn’t have your favorite plug-in or at least you have the installer still!
Oh shiny new FM synths! Who has an original opsix? I hear good things.
Fascinating how this developed! I hadn't even thought about the history of it.
And...I just bought a mk1....
Another Moog knock off! Behringer is bringing in the heat.
Now this is fascinating! Wonder who will use this one a hit album?
So much more floor space! Also thinking about a Jaspers stand…anyone have opinions on them?
This looks intriguing. Wonder what sort of graphics card will be needed to run this when it hits production?
More acquisitions. Curious if they will integrate the different systems.
Curious if this is good or bad. What do you think?
Trying to work towards my first album. I have two songs mostly completed and a few in various early phases. I am not much of a drummer so the DrumBrute Impact has been…instrumental in implementing some beats.
I am actually excited about this. MIDI has so much potential and I am curious to delve deeper into the specs to see new possibilities.
Autograph is from Phil Keaggy. I am not much of a guitarist (synth player mostly) but these meet my needs!
I found this extremely useful. Make sure to check out his other tutorials for other synths too! I still have to go through one for the Model D I picked up.
Don't miss out!
My dream synth that re-inspired me to start writing music again.
My first guitar was a Yamaha and it was cheap but someone set it up so good. I wish I didn’t sell it back ages ago. Probably won’t find it again. I liked how it had a black flake finish…so cheesy lol.
This guy does a great job recreating and I do not want to know how much he spent on all of those synths!
Always nice to see into another person's workflow and how long it takes to get the elusive "perfect" sound that is in your head.
Picked up a Neutron and Model D. It has been a blast so far. Any suggestions on favorite ways to route signal? ![](https://midwest.social/pictrs/image/3f32d395-054e-40eb-be68-fa0569d7ee43.jpeg)
