Philosophize This has just started a podcast series on Anarchy that I'm finding informative. The podcasts are short and all have transcripts. The first episode is here: https://www.philosophizethis.org/podcast/anarchism-part-one.
The second part just came out this past week.

I like Yamamoto, but as a Yankee fan, I'm happy we lost out. 12 years is long time for an unproven player in the mlb. Plus he's 5'9". Small pitchers usually don't last long in the league.

One of the new efforts announced was the use of advanced AI on patrol aircraft — including the US's P-8A Poseidon aircraft, which is equipped for anti-submarine warfare — to process information from underwater detection devices used by each country.
AI singer-songwriter 'Anna Indiana' debuted her first single 'Betrayed by this Town' on X, formerly Twitter—and listeners were not too impressed.
If you have Inkscape installed, you should install this version as soon as possible.

To say It's been a long time is an understatement. But at least there's an end in site.
Uses the open source Stable Diffusion as a back end for AI generation.
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/8355853 > Good friends of mine would like a reprieve so they can have their anniversary dinner. I've been a camp counsellor and was pretty good at it but those kids were all 6 years old, this one is 13 months old. Adorable kid but I figure maybe some folks here might have good ideas/thoughts/suggestions/crass jokes?
The project has larger goals. They’re spending considerable time talking about zones of the UI, task flow, and what the default configuration should be. They’re also thinking about how UI templates can be created that make it easier for developers to implement new functionality without needing to reinvent the wheel every time. Effort has been spent on recommendations for color use, code structure, and other details that will help addon developers make their contributions feel like a native part of FreeCAD.

A fork of Enve 2d, since development has been stopped for awhile now.

I tried to like elementary and used for it for months awhile ago. But it was missing so many basic features for an OS. Eg, they only just added bulk rename to the file manager.

I tend to agree with the judge's assessment. He must make a decision based on existing law and the plaintiff's claim/argument. You're right existing law doesn't cover this aspect of technology which is why there needs to be new laws enacted by Congress. And the courts are put in a no win situation here because we've failed to establish new rules and regulations for this new technology.
The plaintiff's claim of derivative work doesn't fit here because of what has already been long established what a derivative work looks like. AI generated images aren't really derivative works.
I think rightfully, the court has told them to try again, which is ok.
Anyone going to try it?
Some good stuff here.

Looks good so far for basic editing. And the node graph system is an interesting concept. But I'm not sure about trying to be the jack of all trades app.

I had some trouble getting it to run on linux. The deb from the website doesn't update the location of some shared files.
I just discovered this hidden gem while sifting through Sourceforge. It's a simple app that's heavily inspired by Cinema4d. And from what I gather it's still being developed. ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/816fa6a1-e989-46a8-b2f0-deb21a7fb780.png)

Trying another instance might be a good idea. If you have problems on the other instance then you know it's a BW problem and maybe file a bug report. But don't give up on BW! It's a pretty neat piece of software that the fediverse needs.

Unfortunately, "gentlemen agreements" in business don't work and never has. Even with friends. Cassidy is a part owner in the company and will still have owner rights whether he's drawing a paycheck or not. It doesn't look like there are any written agreements in place to say otherwise.
