African Stream has an RSS feed and telegram account. https://africanstream.media/feed/
You should be able to just put africanstream.media into your RSS reader and it will locate the /feed endpoint from the html head element.

They definitely should not have been using any kind of electronics made by a west-aligned country. Which is much easier said than done. I wonder if Israel was able to determine that the devices were going to Hezbollah? Or was it just any pagers being shipped to the region? I'd imagine supply chain stuff for any non-western organization is pretty difficult.

I guess it switched desktop environments on you? If you're logged out there's supposed to be a way you can switch between desktop environments. It makes sense that the GNOME Settings app would only change wallpaper settings for GNOME, which I think is the main Ubuntu desktop environment. Are you sure you didn't upgrade to a version of Ubuntu that uses XFCE instead of GNOME?

So much about the case is so vague in the Tampa Bay Times article that this article links. It says they communicated with someone in the Russian FSB and that's about it. I remember reading about how this group's office was raided by the US government and they had their computers taken. The Tampa Bay Times article (and probably also the US government's case against the three people) is so slimy in that they keep saying the group spread "Russian disinformation" but they never actually specify what that messaging was. In all likelihood it was probably just true information that makes the US look bad. Just classic US government stuff.

You can skip past the parts with the CGTN correspondent. They copy western reporter style way too much lol. Basically the newer prime minister/government in the Solomon Islands is continuing it's cooperation with China. And the usual "mutual respect/win-win cooperation" language that countries use when talking about relations with China and vice versa.

He's a little whiny pissbaby who does nothing for America
It seems like your thing is that he's not effective at being a ruler in the US? If you aren't a chauvinist you wouldn't care about "[doing something] for America". That just sounds like bog-standard middle-class little-Eichmann-type feelings of insecurity about the 4th Reich's ability to continue it's stranglehold on the world. Maybe you want Harris to get into office and show the world that The West™ can still control the world efficiently.
Do you think the people who face the most oppression in this country or any other cares about the important differences between the two candidates? What do people in US prisons think about the two of them? How about people in Latin America? Doubt they give a shit.

Pretending that there aren't large segments of the class hierarchy in this country that benefit from (includes me) and support all the awful stuff the US does is childish.
And using the phrase "mango mussolini". My brother in Christ you probably would've been a Mussolini supporter if you were Italian (but you think you wouldn't because your brain only thinks of Mussolini as "a bad dictator from the other country the US fought" instead of a fascist who had a support base of people exactly like you).

While China’s acceptance of the recommendations can be viewed as a positive development, there’s no guarantee that it will follow through on its promises. The country accepted six similar recommendations during its last periodic review, and almost nothing has changed in that time, some critics say.
In some cases, including the Las Bambas mine in Peru, projects appeared in the previous review and then again this time around.
Take it with a grain of salt because they also publish stuff like https://news.mongabay.com/2024/07/activists-ask-for-help-combatting-violence-against-nicaraguas-indigenous-communities/ and https://news.mongabay.com/2024/02/harmful-mining-continues-in-nicaragua-despite-u-s-sanctions-new-investigation-shows/ where they use US-speak calling Ortega a dictator.

> Yet in the hours before Salaam spoke at the convention, many Americans were learning for the first time that the DNC had [removed its goal of ending capital punishment](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/democrats-scrub-death-penalty-campaign-platform_n_66c67a0de4b0b9c7b360296b?1jq) from its official platform. The issue had previously been enshrined in the party platform for years, with the language in 2016 especially robust: “We will abolish the death penalty, which has proven to be a cruel and unusual form of punishment,” it read. “It has no place in the United States of America.”
Thought this was interesting because the video is from CCTV.

The economic workings of capitalism are marching the world towards World War III, accelerated by Vladimir Putin’s murderous invasion of Ukraine to deny its national rights, and Hamas’ October 7 pogrom – orchestrated by the counterrevolutionary rulers of Iran – that slaughtered over 1,200 Jews in Israel. Only the working class has the capacity to halt this trajectory. > > Driven by competition inherent in capitalism, corporations continue to pursue more production from fewer workers for less pay. From the article: What's really gross is the next part. Clicking "Yes" installs the Bing Chrome extension as well as changing the default search provider, and Chrome alerts the user in another dialog box that something potentially malicious is trying to update their settings. Google's browser recommends you click on a "Change it back" button to undo the tweak. But Redmond is one step ahead, displaying a message underneath Chrome's alert that reads: "Wait – don't change it back! If you do, you’ll turn off Microsoft Bing Search for Chrome and lose access to Bing AI with GPT-4 and DALL-E 3." --- Feels a little odd putting this under "technology"
