Well a) yeah I know I said that in my comment

And b) you can get a YouTube plugin for Kodi IIRC

    So what's your point?

    Too bad for us, yeah.

The people benefiting from this have more than enough money to stay comfortable and live a long life if the environment becomes hazardous, deadly and inimical to human life.

It's the masses who will suffer, who will be forced to live in tiny bunkers just to survive and work for the capitalists, never going outside until an extreme weather event wipes them away despite their budget bunker

And the capitalist ruling class will say "oh look more space to expand my summer bunker"

Yeah we looked into a shield recently because we know someone who has one and we really liked it, plus I've heard it can be locked down and side loaded decently

But then we saw the price of one and are not willing to spend more than half the cost of a brand new 4k tv on a little box to stream from our media server and Netflix...

Thank you for sharing this, it looks really promising

I'm tired of only hearing of Kodi suggested in threads like this. I don't get why it's so popular, it's confusing for non-tech oriented people, you can't stream, YouTube functionality is questionable, the interface is dated looking and IMO an eyesore...

Some people like Kodi and that's great but it sucks balls for other people and there's barely ever any mention of any sort of alternative (like your comment)

    These threads are usually just:

"I need a device or software for watching tv that works with a remote"

Kodi Kodi Kodi jUsT uSe A lApToP Kodi Kodi Laptop + HDMI cable

Furthermore, for sterilization 70% is more effective because the other 30% is water, which helps ensure everything is exposed to isoprop for long enough and bacterial cells take in the isoprop and die (because water passes through the cell membrane, taking isoprop into the cell with it), rather than 'hunkering down' and surviving until the solvent is gone

However for cleaning electronics, the water content is bad because it does not dry quickly and can cause corrosion, so 99% is needed

So the percentages have varying uses and should be chosen based on the task at hand

Wow, the sheer hostility towards customers on display when your guaranteed business for life...

Just because they know diabetics have to use them is not a reason to be a scumbag company wherever possible.

Why is it permitted in our society to walk all over diabetics as if they are second class citizens???

Sounds like they treat you like a cash cow and not a patient in need of medical support, and I'm really sorry for that

It's not cool that these people ambush us in public places

But also there's a better way to handle it IMO, saying I'm not interested and repeating it no matter what they say shuts them down before they can even get going

You saying 'I don't believe' is an in for them, an opening to engage with you, might even give them hope that they could convert you or whatever

If you say you don't care what they're pushing, regardless of the content, they have no angle of approach. The best they can do is something like 'your not interested in being saved?' and you don't give a fuck and repeat I'm not interested

'what if I just give you this flyer?'

    I'm not interested

'Why don't you care about God?'

    I'm not interested

It's like giving a sales pitch to a wall. They realize the futility as quickly as they can and move on.

At least that's how I handle it

Kagi is a search engine and when you start a search you can enable different lenses, which are like filters that only show you results from that category. The fediverse lens shows you results from Lemmy and other fediverse instance, the forums lens shows results from a wider collections of forums only sites, etc

Ahh ok, that's what you meant before I guess

Since that function is usually meant for night vision, I wonder how well a security camera can pick out the laser during the day i.e. when the IR sensors are being swamped by daylight also coming in through the window

Fascinating, thanks for sharing. I see it says peer to peer vid chat and works in the browser but I'm wondering if it requires setting up a server or using a public instance, something like that?

Or is it possible for two people to go to the web page and start a vid chat with zero installation or any other preamble?

Sorry I'm away from home so I can't look into the GitHub page deeply enough to answer my own questions

Looking for a self hosted alternative to Flickr

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to find a self hosted and hopefully FOSS alternative to flickr for photo organization and viewing The sharing with friends part isn't important What we're looking for is a way to store collections of photos, organized and viewable the same way as Flickr This person takes a ton of photos all the time but they want a place to store the best/only the highlights/their favourites, organized into albums by destination/location/vacation and most importantly easily viewable to reminisce about the good times They used to use Flickr for this until it wasn't free anymore
