- Up to one-third of European flights this summer are at risk of being delayed or cancelled due to an impending strike by air traffic controllers at Eurocontrol. - Talks over staffing, rosters, and pay have broken down, leading to the planned walkouts during the peak summer period. - As a result, British holidaymakers may experience delays or cancellations, with approximately 12,600 flights across Europe potentially affected each day.
https://ploum.net/2023-06-23-how-to-kill-decentralised-networks.html Many of us do not trust Facebook and anything it is associated with or swallows up. EDIT: https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/05/adam-mosseri-says-metas-threads-app-wont-have-activitypub-support-at-launch/ "Instagram head Adam Mosseri said " ““Soon, you’ll be able to follow and interact with people on other fediverse platforms, such as Mastodon. They can also find people on Threads using full usernames, such as @mosseri@threads.net.”” “We’re committed to building support for ActivityPub, the protocol behind Mastodon, into this app. We weren’t able to finish it for launch given a number of complications that come along with a decentralized network, but it’s coming,” he said. “If you’re wondering why this matters, here’s a reason: you may one day end up leaving Threads, or, hopefully not, end up de-platformed. If that ever happens, you should be able to take your audience with you to another server. Being open can enable that.”

I read somewhere at that someone made their energy conversion box very small, which I tried to do as normally my one was huge, up to my waist. The purpose for making it small maybe to tell your subconscious that your problems are small. I think looking at it that way helps. Then I realised, why stop at putting your current issues into the box? Assuming that we are an eternal awareness inhabiting a temporary flash body with many thoughts and desires and fears associated with the human mind, why not imagine putting everything of the mind into the box? So that's what I do now- I imagine a very small container, and imagine my issues, then mind, then body dissolving into a wave and getting sucked into the box, a bit like the final scene of raiders of the lost ark. After doing this I imagine that I'm now my pure awareness, without the baggage of the human body or mind, and I feel lighter and the wave seem easier to do.
Recently found this app, and was intrigued to find it's extra 2 image stabilisation options beyond the pretty good apple IS - "cinema" and "cinema2". The IS is very smooth, though there's quite a delay when using it, and there's no documentaion abou them that I could find. Can you us them in normal day to day recording, or do you find the delay is too much?

- Nigel Farage, a prominent Brexiteer and broadcaster, claimed that his bank accounts have been closed without given reason, suggesting serious political persecution at the highest level. - Farage refused to name the prestigious banking group involved but stated that the closures were part of an establishment plot to force him out of the UK. - Other parties and politicians on the right of politics, such as the Reclaim Party and Reform UK, have also reportedly been denied bank accounts or had accounts closed, indicating a coordinated effort by financial institutions to target right-wing figures.

Aspartame is also linked in some studies to weight gain, GI disorders, mental health issues and more: According to some studies, aspartame and other artificial sweeteners can lead to weight gain instead of weight loss 12. Aspartame has been linked to increased appetite, diabetes, metabolic derangement and obesity-related diseases 2. > > One study showed that aspartame causes greater weight gain than a diet with the same calorie intake but no aspartame 1. Another study found that even acceptable daily intakes of aspartame might make you hungrier and lead to weight gain 3. > ...some research suggests an association between aspartame intake and metabolic damage to the central nervous system (CNS), such as changes in enzyme and neurotransmitter activities 2. Aspartame acts as a chemical stressor by elevating plasma cortisol levels and causing the production of excess free radicals. High cortisol levels and excess free radicals may increase the brain’s vulnerability to oxidative stress which may have adverse effects on neurobehavioral health 3. > > There is also some evidence that high-aspartame consumption may lead to weaker spatial orientation, irritability, depression, and other neurobehavioral conditions 14. However, these studies are limited in scope and further research is needed to determine the long-term effects of aspartame on human health. Worth researching more, especially if you eat/drink anything with this stuff - and it's in a lot of food products.

Devolution of Russian army: 2021: second army in the world 2022: second army in Ukraine 2023: second army in Russia
1/ Russia's security forces are reported to be in disarray following the attempted mutiny by the Wagner Group. It seems to have been perfectly timed for a moment – Friday night – when many personnel were too drunk to respond quickly, while others are refusing to fight Wagner. 2/ The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports what its sources are saying is the situation within various security organisations. At the FSB and Ministry of Internal Affairs, "Everyone is up and running, urgently reporting in. Now all the offices are like one big after-party." 3/ "80 per cent of the staff smell of booze. Some of them can barely stand on their feet. Can't arm 'em, can't send 'em anywhere. Friday night's the perfect time to start something like this. Everybody's standing around, waiting for something. No introductions." 4/ "A couple of hours more and the conflicts among themselves will start when [the alcohol] starts to wear off." 5/ Unwillingness to fight Wagner appears to be a common theme. "There is real panic in Rostov, especially among the police. There is more than a 40 percent shortfall in personnel among those called up in connection with Operation Fortress" (to defend security installations). 6/ Wagner forces were able to cross the border from Ukraine without opposition, despite orders not to let them through. "Both the border service of the FSB and the Interior Ministry received instructions to stop the Wagner PMC. No one is complying, as it is not realistic." 7/ Most ominously for the Kremlin, elements of the security forces appear to be actively siding with Wagner or refusing to act against it. 8/ "The defence ministry has lost control over a number of units and formations of the South Eastern Military District, it will not be possible to organise defence by the Rosgvardia [Russian National Guard] and the FSB. Local leaders are extremely careful in their statements". 9/ "Attempts to counter Prigozhin are only going through the FSB and the National Guard. The Ministry of Defence has simply withdrawn, junior officers either refuse to follow orders or directly support Wagner." 10/ And Shoigu and the [MOD leadership] team just hid and completely lost touch with reality. The fear is obviously serious." Wagner is reported to be directly taking control of some South Eastern Military District units. 11/ "A number of units of the Ministry of Defence that participated in the war are beginning to come under the command of Wagner. Entire corps. Shoigu and Gerasimov's people are being removed." 12/ General Gerasimov himself has not been seen in public since the mutiny began. According to Wagner channels, he was in Rostov when it fell to Wagner forces. 13/ He is said to have "escaped from the Rostov [military] headquarters along with people loyal to him” and “is holed up in a civilian apartment with his friends in Rostov.” /end

This is what ClaudeAI summarised (so not sure how accurate): Several studies have investigated a possible link between long term proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use and dementia or cognitive decline. The findings are mixed, but concerning enough to warrant caution with prolonged use of PPIs, especially in the elderly. Some of the key studies include: • A 2016 German study of over 73,000 people found long term PPI use (>1 year) was associated with a 44% increased risk of dementia. More frequent or longer-acting PPIs and higher doses were linked to greater risk. (Gomm W, et al. JAMA Neurol 2016) • A 2017 US study followed over 10,000 participants and found those on PPIs for 18 months or more had a 25-50% higher risk of impaired cognitive functioning based on memory and verbal fluency tests. (Klatte DCF, et al. J Am Geriatr Soc 2017) • However, several other studies found no conclusive evidence to link PPIs and dementia. A 2017 meta-analysis of 16 studies with over 200,000 participants concluded there were small statistical effects observed in some studies, but too much uncertainty and inconsistency to definitively determine a causal relationship. Larger, longitudinal studies were recommended. (Bian Y, et al. Front Aging Neurosci 2017) • Possible mechanisms theorized include changes in vitamin and mineral absorption (e.g. B12, magnesium), increased susceptibility to infections, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth leading to increased inflammatory cytokines, and direct neurochemical effects in the brain. But more research is needed. While no smoking gun has yet been found, clinicians generally recommend the following based on these concerning but inconclusive findings: 1) Only prescribe PPIs when clearly medically indicated based on severity of symptoms and risks versus benefits. Lifestyle and alternative medication options should be tried first before PPIs when possible. 2) Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest necessary duration. Try gradually reducing or discontinuing PPIs under medical guidance when symptoms are stable. 3) All patients on long term PPIs, especially the elderly, should be monitored closely for side effects as well as cognitive or functional decline. Report any changes to the prescribing clinician right away. 4) Patients on PPIs long term should maintain a healthy diet, exercise, stay socially active, and take supplements as directed to support brain and general health. Lifestyle factors may help lower risks associated with PPI use. 5) Educate patients about the uncertainties around long term PPI use and possible links to dementia/cognitive impairment. Shared and informed decision making around the risks versus benefits of continuing or reducing PPI therapy long term is key, based on individual patient priorities and medical needs.
