I remember the first time I ever felt the Santa Ana winds (having lived near Irvine), that shit was sooo hot and dry, like literally nothing I've ever felt, even having been in Dubai during the summer.
Think riding a bicycle straight into a giant hair dryer in the desert at full blast. I ride a lot over long distances, but head on, the hot wind was powerful enough to make me stand out of my saddle consistently.
Wildly, wildly unpleasant.

I use an actual dressing aid, there's a recipe from reddit I've been meaning to try but buying a tube is easy for now:
PROPORTION RATIO
0.653 DIMETHICONE
0.327 CYCLOMETHICONE
0.020 PHENYL TRIMETHICONE
Once the latex is on, your sweat will do the rest 😎
If you get new socks, try out chlorination. I haven't yet, but people seem to like it.

As a motorcyclist and bicyclist, I don't agree with the idea that it's the victim's sole responsibility to be visible at all times; there is a minimum expectation of sanity behind the wheel of a multi-ton vehicle when it comes to following rules, expectations and the law.
Based on this article, I don't think this person ought to be permitted to drive again, they've proven that it's too much responsibility.

Quite a long, pedantic response.
I didn't in fact read your other links, nice to see you're unable to imagine others having lives and limited time. At no point did I say you ate meat, but that you are using similar tactics.
Curious, how much writing you do when all I ask is whether you think animals experience curiosity, and how much of it doesn't have anything to do with that question.
Rolling back through your overly elaborate discussions here, you'll note that I never said humans and animals had the same emotions, nor to the same level we as a species do. But I do say what they have is analogous, and that the line between anthropomorphism and observation can itself be a fuzzy concept.
Do you understand that, or will you resort to ad hominem again?

Unfortunately I've got to disagree with you from the outset, they do in fact express emotions, having witnessed one of my pets feel less inclined to partake in activities he very much normally enjoyed when his compatriot of a different species eventually passed away due to age. That is one clear example I've observed on my own, several times in a couple of different species over the years (unfortunately).
It's a bit pedantic, in truth, to state that these animals don't feel human emotions. Do all of us experience ennui for that matter? Envy, to the same level as one another? Which leads to a paradox of how one defines a conscious, human mind at all, if it were indeed based only on what emotions are present when presented with a similar stimulus.
Further, I'm noticing that you're focused on dancing around "are they human", not "are they conscious", a more interesting & insightful question. Unfortunately, I've noticed this tactic among people who don't want to feel bad about eating other conscious beings. If you eat other passengers on this ship called earth, so be it, but avoid the cowardice that comes with assigning them lower value in a pseudo-intellectual manner.
Do you think animals are capable of being curious, even when there's no impetus for them to be? I certainly do.
RubberElectrons 2 weeks ago • 83%
How do you know?
My pets express themselves pretty clearly, despite having much more limited ability to communicate across species lines.
I feel reasonably confident in stating that I believe animals are conscious, just to varying depths.

I work in energy r&d, and have for several jobs over the years now.
My sadness is transmuted into passion for solving these issues from the ground up. Top brass is interested in "stock options" and blah blah blah, I'm just focused on solving technical problems to make efficient, powerful energy production that isn't hard on the earth.
The money won't matter if there's nowhere to live. My efforts may not be enough, ultimately, but I'll die knowing I tried to help solve the problems we've caused.
Anyone else hear these jets? They're zipping, and how. E: Blue Angels doing some practice.
Anyone have input here? I'm trying to decide which I like, yammie noob had a [cool vid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfNlHgJBle8) comparing the two with the xsr seemingly on top, but spec-wise, the z900 should be wild. I'm aware there are tune and exhaust kits to wake the undertuned z900 up. I like spirited riding, but mostly on straights as I roar off to a campsite in the mountains. What do you folks think?

Hey there, I'm looking for an alternative to Google pay that'll allow me to use NFC payments etc. Thoughts? I don't have a Google account, nor am I interested in opening one. E: Just to clarify, the payment part would be convenient, more annoying is how I don't get to use a single place for my subway/gym/ticketmaster passes.

Hey everyone. I built an mk3s+ from its kit form successfully, tested a few PLA prints with the stock 0.4 nozzle. I've set prusaslicer to use a 0.6 nozzle now that I've upgraded, and am using PETG. Prints look pretty bad, in spite of calibrating z-offset etc. If you were doing something like this for the first time, what would your setup steps be like? To be specific, using a diamondback 0.6 nozzle, matterhackers PETG at 235c. Issues I'm seeing are a really bad loss of detail, lots of stringing, etc. *eta*: added a photo of a moderately post-processed part. Notice how rough the top surface looks, there's a disconnect between perimeter loops, etc.
