Hey it’s me! Your high school friend who never addressed their insecurities and made their entire life about how they don’t live somewhere and what restaurants they eat at.
Anyway, here’s an article about how I perceive everything as racist so I can continue feeling superior to everyone

I left Reddit because of the API changes
I left Lemmy because it’s full of terrible memes and content

I honestly feel like there is more engagement here. Most Reddit threads were like telling into the wind. By the time you got there it was almost always too late to contribute

The “hot” front page STILL has posts from days ago.
I give it 3 days before people cave and go back. People will always find a way to get their dopamine fix. If lemmy doesn’t have what they want, suffering through the shitty Reddit app will be a cakewalk compared to giving up the habit altogether

You absolutely should. The new name is much better!

Apollo leaving was the last straw for me. It has slowly become worse and worse over the years and I think most of my time on there was out of habit anyway
KillaBeez 1 year ago • 100%
I subscribed to it but never used it because for me personally, I realized I’m only interested in games I want to play.
Searching for something to just play (like Netflix) to kill time doesn’t really appeal to me.
I think you make an interesting point and this is my fear as well. Publishers will no longer have the incentive of the game having to be great to get sales if they’re paid just to have it exist in a sea of options on Game Pass

It’s a web app. Just follow the instructions to put it on your home screen and launch it from there.

This is honestly amazing and I cannot believe this hasn’t blown up yet. It is so close to the Apollo experience that I now have zero reason to stay on Reddit.

Wefwef is the closest thing to Apollo I’ve experienced so far https://wefwef.app/settings/install

I also meant Memmy, not Mlem.

If something like this can pop up in weeks and provide all of the functionality people need, what makes Reddit valuable in the first place?

Bullshit. I’ve been using third party apps before the official one ever existed

Popular kid in high school always rubbed me the wrong way. He was the super go lucky kid that was always overly positive. I told my friends that something about him creeped me out and I didn’t want to hang out with him. They told me if I didn’t like him it must be me, not him.
6 years after graduating he killed his girlfriend and then himself.

Maybe all of those in favor of the protests kept their word and only those who are against it remain?
KillaBeez 1 year ago • 100%
It's both great and not so great at the same time. If the site were easier to navigate with less sluggishness I would have no problem.
I absolutely love the community so far and it has been a breath of fresh air to get away from the toxicity of Reddit.
However, the communities I'm interested in are just not active enough here yet.

I know it's not great, but is it really THAT bad? Is it honestly worse than navigating Lemmy?
Don't get me wrong, I'm DONE with Reddit. But is all of this really just because they don't like the official app or is there something more?
KillaBeez 1 year ago • 66%
I know people are pissed about this, but what is a CEO supposed to say?
KillaBeez 1 year ago • 94%
Just looking at Redditor's reaction to this is telling me the battle is already lost. Most seem to be completely done and just want their cat videos back. It's clear that the normies who invaded the site and proceeded to make it worse are completely content with what is happening so long as their addiction is fed. As far as I'm concerned, they can have the site.
HOWEVER. Maybe its a sign that all of the people who were in favor of the protest actually did leave and the only ones who are left are those who don't give a shit about it or don't support it.

People are ADDICTED to Reddit. So much so that they are using Reddit as their primary resource to talk about how much they hate it.
Once the craziness around the API stuff dies down and it's time to stop using Reddit for good, I'm willing to bet nearly all of these people cave in some way.

Going back to Reddit to read about the blackouts was jarring after spending the past few days on here. I didn't realize just how negative, toxic, and mentally draining Reddit was until I stopped using it.

Thank you for linking this. Glad to see so many subs continuing indefinitely.
Did you see the comment about r/adviceanimals and r/Tumblr have been forced public by Reddit?
Edit: Anecdotal comment states r/Tumblr had all of its mods leave and was forced public.

I’m honestly done with Reddit and I really hope enough people find a new home outside of it when this is all said and done. Hanging out on here has made me realize how toxic and mentally draining Reddit actually is.
I think Reddit will continue to grow into a normie cesspool of children and mentality I’ll folks and will eventually go the way of FB and Twitter where the interesting and saine folks will dig out new communities in some other place to be determined
Nothing agains this place, but it is VERY cumbersome to get going. Squabbles seems super responsive and intuitive. I’ll be using both!
Hello! One of my favorite Reddit communities was r/SteamDeck, and I wanted to create a haven for any of those leaving Reddit looking for a new Steam Deck community. Welcome! Obviously, this is all very new so please don't just lurk, participate! Create posts, discuss, etc...
