Hi. Aktuell sind wir sehr ausgelastet. Letztens haben wir den Server umgezogen, zu Netcup. Die Partition mit der Datenbank ist mit Bildern aus pictrs voll gelaufen und seitdem funktioniert das Web Frontend nicht mehr. Federation und Posts über Drittanbieter-Apps funktionieren jedoch. Ich habe da bisher ca 8h Arbeit rein gesteckt, aber komme nicht dazu, das fertigzustellen. Bitte habt Geduld.

Dummerweise kann man bei all-inkl aber nicht die TTL einstellen, daher war feddit einfach mal gar nicht erreichbar, bis der Umzug fertig war. Leider gibt es mit dem [Ansible-Playbook von Lemmy](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ansible) auch noch einige Probleme. Es dürfte eine Weile dauern, bis die föderierten Posts alle reintröpfeln. Wir arbeiten heute im Laufe des Tages weiter am Umzug und richten Backups ein. Stellt euch auf ein paar kleinere Downtimes ein. Morgen sollte alles wieder wie gewohnt (oder sogar besser) laufen. Bitte entschuldigt die Unannehmlichkeiten.

How do I fix this?

I really like Syncthing, Nextcloud, Forgejo and Mailcow to collaborate with colleagues. Kimai allows me to track hours and get paid. Barrier allows me to use several computers at once. Xen Orchestra is pretty much on par with VMWare stuff and way cheaper. What other awesome software does allow you to work more efficiently **in a business context** and stays out of your way?
Can I somehow use my laptop/desktop Linux microphone and speaker or headset to call a regular phone line through my (GrapheneOS) Android 13 phone? SIP sadly is not an option as my mobile phone provider does not hand out SIP information, it's only possible to call with an attached SIM card. Hi, can someone give me a website where I can check peering status between two ASes? I want to know if the network between a customer and our datacenter is affected by peering issues. My dream would be if I could just enter two ASNs and see any issues on the path inbetween. But it's also fine if I can only enter neighboring ASNs. I know you can query BGP information with peering status e.g. on https://bgpview.io or https://bgp.tools, but that only shows if they peer, not if the link is currently up.

Hi guys, so recently we had a bit of an [influx of users](https://beehaw.org/post/412023) on beehaw.org, which lead to [some support questions](https://beehaw.org/c/support) due to the site being unstable. I looked at the nginx config and introduced rate limiting and we scaled up from 2→4 CPU cores and 4→8GB RAM. That alleviated these issues a bit, but we still have a load of ~2.0 with just a few hundred/thousand users online. In my experience with web services this is not a lot of users. What I found out is that a `magick` process is getting OOM killed frequently, that pict-rs often calls `exiftool` which causes lots of load and that basically the `server.js` from Lemmy-UI is not fast enough dealing with requests from `nginx`. How do I debug where the bottleneck is? Do you already have an idea on how to reduce the load? We're still running 0.17.2, but upgraded from pict-rs 0.3.0 to 0.3.1. Is it safe to upgrade to pict-rs 0.3.3 or even 0.4.0? Can you configure pict-rs to not use exiftool?
