Upwork, freelancer, fiver are all gig websites you could use, since it’s a hobby project that’s probably your best bet.
Alternatively design discords might help, make sure to let them know it’s paid.
If you’re looking for more premium then look for specific designers/web devs outside of these places.

Well, except it seems that it's contracting rather than expanding.

I reckon this is because of AI datasets, same with reddit. Suddenly having millions of authentic conversations logged is very valuble to companies training Large Laungage Models and the last thing these people want is that value being taken from them.

If you didn't know, firefox has 'containers' where you can open a tab in, for example, a 'work' container and it won't carry the cookies over. Lets you log into multiple accounts on 1 browser (like personal email & work email etc).
Doesn't have seperate history though.

Defederating wouldn't disrupt them, your source is about the removal of leadership/core memebers in online hate organisations. Something I imagine would happen rather quickly on this platform when those people get banned for racism.
That being said I took a look at the community and there's like 3 accounts posting pro-trump posts. Not exactly a community...they're probably already isolating themselves on a different website.
Dav 1 year ago • 50%
I totally agree, I just think as an overall community we could report/brigade the racism, rather than allow it to grow unchecked. Maybe I'm wrong.

Just wanted to throw some support for you out there, I'm not at all a trump fan but social media driven echo chambers are half the reason the worst political ideals are spreading. Unfortunately there's not an easy answer to this, but I don't think defederation is it.

I have a vision of what’s to come so I’ll throw it out here.
When things truly take off there’ll likely be companies selling cloud hosted instances, the server requirements aren’t massive for a small group so it’ll be cheap.
That’d solve the issue of losing accounts or small communities, but huge communities would have to be hosted on huge servers just to handle the amount of content coming in.
Which means money will play a role somehow, imagine a community with millions of visitors every day. Could a server relying on donations sustain that? Or better question is could they sustain that better than a huge tech conglomerate?

If not full migration, maybe eventually they’ll support logging in with your masto account.
Dav 1 year ago • 100%
Kbin may allow migrating between Kbin instances, but would they support migration to Lemmy instances? If not then not sure we could expect Meta to support it either.
Pure speculation but I think a likely scenario is Meta would have all their accounts registered on a centralised server, and only have the content decentralised.
Dav 1 year ago • 100%
Very true, maybe we’ll see sites dedicated to these niche groups connect their own instances?

While you’re definitely right I get OP’s hang up, more people means more content. I do wish more niche communities on Reddit made their way here.

Hey so you'll need a [userscript addon](https://simply-how.com/enhance-and-fine-tune-any-web-page-the-complete-user-scripts-guide) to use this (e.g. greasemonkey, tampermonkey). It's very rough and I've only tested on firefox but if you're a developer feel free to use this code and make improvements. Here's the mind boggling list of features: * Collapse comments: adds a button to collapse a comment tree, click the comment again to show the tree * Show images: Clicking an image on the right shows a full sized thumbnail below the post, also click and drag it to resize the image. Please note this only works on the main feed (not in the post itself), also it's not the full resolution image. Not sure if anyone else has made something like this but if they have let them know, maybe they'll want to use the code.
