Health insurance is nearly a trillion dollar industry. There is no way to have a middle man that big and somehow save money.
Their goals are 100% opposed to ours. By denying care and charging more, they profit.
We can't even shop around for a better provider because it's tied to our jobs. The entire system is broken.
Abolish health insurance.

Yep. I just heard about the liberal hell scape that is California and it's EV's that are destroying their highway system. Now California is charging 30 cents a mile in taxes to compensate for fuel tax losses. A non-idiot might take a few seconds to realize that's the equivalent of $9 per gallon in taxes.
Another idiot complained about green energy destroying the country because "what do we do when the sun goes down or the wind stops?! Blackouts! We need coal energy!"
These people are dumb as rocks.

Double checked and all of the drives are basic. I'm very confused as to what is different between the disks that readable and the ones that aren't.
I've even tried multiple distros. Same scenario.

How does Joplin hold up with larger files? I've just been using Google docs, which I don't like for several reasons. One of which, is that it gets really choppy when you hit 100+ pages.

With the recent Microsoft garbage, I'm giving Linux another try. I've been running a laptop for a while, no issues. My main rig, however can't read all of my um..?hard drives
A live USB of Mint 21 reads 2 of 5 drives fine. The rest are recognized from GParted, but can't access them. It looks like NTFS-3G is installed.
I've duck duck go'd (which apparently is just Bing) for a solution, but haven't succeeded. Long term, I can probably pick up another drive, copy, and reformat everything to something Linux friendly. For now, I just want access.
I'm lazy and burned out. I don't want to use the terminal- which I did try. I just want to make a few clicks and have access to all of my files.
If it matters, the drives (roughly) show up as: 500 gb, 4 TB NTFS (readable) 3, 12, 16 TB unknown (not readable)
Windows says they're all NTFS.
Is there an easy way to easily mount my drives?

My wife found a giant sectional couch that's in "great condition" at an estate sale. She couldn't believe no one bought it for $900. She bid $500 on the last day of the sale and was shocked she won.
I sincerely doubt anyone else even bid on the thing. People with living rooms that large don't buy used couches. We have a relatively large living room and it still sticks out funny.
My wife is so excited. I don't have the heart to tell her that I hate it. So now I'm out $500, stuck with a behemoth of a couch with worn out cushions, and I have to give away the perfectly nice couch we already have.
So... that's interesting.

This was a sad read. A gambling addict would have at least had a chance to make money. This guy just kept throwing money away other peoples money and never saw any returns.
I can't believe someone at the bank didn't question the strange wire transfers. Or that the guy who told him he was being scammed didn't immediately reach out to the authorities.
Question: Wouldn't the FDIC reimburse most of these people's money?

Every time I read a quote from this idiot it hurts my brain. I could go on about how stop and frisk is a horrible, racist policy that is a violation of basic rights, but just reading anything he says is painful. His speech is so jarring, erratic, and logically flawed. I've listened to average second graders express their thoughts more eloquently than this piece of garbage.

The internet with a proper ad blocker is a game changer. Take the five minutes to figure it out. You'll save more as free time than that on your first day.
Ironically, you could also YouTube how to install Firefox, then unlock.

Everyone laughs like this is obvious, but I really struggle to do this. I'm not sure if it's an ADHD thing, but I just can't make myself go to bed at night. Extremely tired? Nah, I'd better wait until I hit a second wind. There's unimportant stuff I'd rather do.

I know our courts are corrupt, but I have to believe there is a virtually zero percent chance Musk wins this. Aside from being idiotic, a win would completely break advertising and business in general.
Musk was always a piece of garbage, but I really believe having a billion+ in wealth breaks your brain. He's just astounded that anyone could cross him and get away with it.

I don't think you have pins at all. It looks like you just pull the string through the hole. That 'pin' is just the end of the string. Pull a new string through and the bead will just stop there.
If you haven't changed strings before, YouTube it. It's not difficult, but it's easy to break one by going an octave to high and what not.

That was my plan, but my brother and I share our Xbox games (you can share digital copies with one other person). Since it magically appeared in my inbox, I gave it a go.
Absolutely fantastic game. But it's very long, and that's assuming you don't read all of the lore. The learning curve is little high, nothing crazy, but I won't be getting any noobies to try it. Lastly, I hate searching every stupid crate, body, etc. but I'm sure I'll miss out if I don't. Oh, and absolutely fuck that neural network "puzzle" and it's clunky controls.
Otherwise, decent plot, lots of unique battles, good voice acting, many, many different tactics. My favorite game in a while. So I'm taking an hour or two here and there, and switching it up with other games when I lose patience, and I look up the answer if I don't feel like searching on a quest, to save my sanity.
Have fun when you find a good sale.

I don't want to have 15 kids that I can't afford and would only provide a terrible upbringing dipshit.
He also does not understand why women don't always give natural child birth anymore. "Women did it for hundreds of years."

I'm not going to down vote you, but I strongly disagree. Wealthy begets wealth. Poverty digs the hole deeper. This has been the pattern for longer than any of us have been alive.
You don't have money? Congrats, you need to take out loans for any important purchase, and get terrible interest rates on those loans. You can live in a crappy apartment and drive a crappy car, but those still cost significant money when you have none. Work two or three jobs even. The minimum wage have been raised in 15 years, so what you earn is barely enough to scrape by, assuming you don't have any health problems.
You come from money? Make investments, but rental properties, get your education without financially crippling you for years. You come from lots of money? Corner the market, influence Congress to pass bills that protect your assets and punish others.

I'm voting democrat no matter what, for obvious reasons, but I don't understand the down voting for calling out what is pretty obvious. I watched John Stewart's episode on it, then some interviews today. It was bad. Really bad.
Biden isn't fit to be president. I wouldn't trust him with my dinner order. This election hasr potential to be a disaster. Yes, I know staff is doing the work, but it's still not comforting to have a doddering old man at the helm.
I would think finding someone that is youngish, intelligent, and exciting wouldn't be that difficult. It would also be a(nother) huge contrast from the orange shit stain.

So far $5.7 billion has been spent. The total approved funds were actually $60 billion. That ratio does seem sketchy, but the article mentions the money will be spent on other upgrades as well, such as customer service, though it fails to go into much detail.
I recall reading that increasing IRS funds tend to yield significantly higher earnings, but the article doesn't provide any depth there. The proposal mentions that they expect to bring in $200 billion. That sounds disappointingly low to me. I was hoping for something more like a 10-1 return, but I imagine auditing those armed to dodge taxes isn't easy.

Never responded. I didend up buying a keychron. They didn't have the blues in stock, so I bought one with browns and ordered blue switches. They also were out of the model that had Wi-Fi, but I figured Bluetooth is fine. Turns out, I love the brown switches. Also, I realized my rig is so old and randomly upgraded that I don't even have Bluetooth.
Anyway, it's the best keyboard I've ever owned. Works great with my various laptops. I now enjoy typing. Many thanks for the recommendation.

I'm going to have a party with multiple headsets running, each with a stream so people can view, and I can easily help new players. I used to be able to begin a stream from the Quest app by clicking cast and selecting the device- Chromecast in my case. Once the connection was established, my phone was no longer necessary. Easy. Now. As far as I know, I can either: 1) Stream to my phone and cast a mirror. I hate that, because private phone stuff, I can't turn off my phone, or use it for phone stuff. 2) Stream to a PC: Make the request from the headset. Access the headset from a browser. Connect that to a TV. Option 2 would be fine, except neither option has been stable for me. There is almost always a disconnection within 30 minutes. Is there a better option? A way to increase stability? Thanks!
My havit KB395L died. It was cheapish, but great for me. I should have bought 3, because they don't make it anymore. I bought a Red Dragon Horus (k618rgp-pro) with red switches as a replacement. The form factor is fine, and I like the wireless, but the keys feel mushy and I make typos constantly. So, now I'm looking for something with: - Low Profile - Blue switches - Tactile (feel the bump on a key press) - Full size (I guess I could go ten keyless) - Backlight Bonus features: - Wireless - Hot swappable switches Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
How can I easily make a live USB drive that is persistent? My goal is to boot it through the boot menu (not grub). And just reboot to Windows for the few things I need on my laptop. I would prefer if my laptop had no trace of Linux installed. I found a guide, but it looked endless and needlessly complicated. Does anyone have a premade process? I'm not attached to any distro. Any help is much appreciated. Background: Every couple of years I get fed up with windows and give Linux another try. I love the idea behind it, the stability and... Inevitably I find something that won't run, then get fed up. I no longer have the energy for Wine or running more than a command or two. I want the idiot experience. Recently, I put together a live USB of Mint. It did most of what I need, but I didn't want to deal with grub or partitions. Errors there suuuuck. So, I figured a persistent USB version would be great. From what I read, you can just install like normal, only to the USB drive. Of course I accidentally installed grub and nearly gave myself a heart attack when I couldn't get to the boot menu. (Had to put the USB drive back in). The Linux install didn't work either- not sure why. So, now I'm back to hating Microsoft's increasing ads and data tracking, wishing Linux was just a little simpler.
Well, I just spent an hour with customer service. First trying to gain access to my own bill. Then trying to understand why I'm being charged for Pandora Premium "on us", which clearly is not "on us", and I never signed up for (T Mobile assured me I did). Made me wonder how many others went from a free Tidal account to a not free Pandora account. Anyone else?
The photo isn't very interesting, but it showcases the problem. I have a 7 Pro and my pictures all look great ... Except when I use the 5x lens. All of my pictures come out with these vertical stripes. Warranty support says I should try a factory reset. That's a huge pain and I doubt if it will fix anything. Thoughts? Anyone have a similar issue?
