Weird, this mention didn't show up in my notifications.
Good context. It'd take one hell of a boycott to impact global sales. AB is huge.

A lot of people on social media are acting like this boycott didn't work. It totally did. Love it or hate it, it worked.

I don't know how Corona did, but Bud Light does appear to be struggling. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/29/business/bud-light-sales.html

Yeah, deleted RIF early and just pretend it doesn't exist. I'll probably use it if a useful answer pops up on Google, but not for scrolling.
Lemmy and Threads will have to fill the gap for now, but if they grow I don't see a problem at all.

I've heard that cited in stories, usually older. A baby dies and they blame someone leaving the door open too long and letting in a draft.

These guys talk like a major news network is the only way to debate. Get on a Zoom call or setup a live stream.

It's subtle, but I only use just enough to pop the kernels. I also have a jar of it by the stove most of the time.

Never tried Ghee. I usually use canola, coconut, or bacon grease. I'm up for more buttery flavor though. Thanks!

Awesome deal for the Jazz! Love it.
"He sounds like and he mimics so many decent men in our lives," said Kimmi Wolf with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition. "That image of a domestic violence abuser being explosive, someone foaming at the mouth, someone wearing a literal 'wife-beater' T-shirt that's stained — that image negates so much of what really happens."
Sounds like the Jazz FO got exactly who they wanted. Taylor and Keyonte were both in their top 10, and Brice in their top 18. Should be a fun summer league. 🙌

Pretty tame by addict standards.

It's definitely a wait and see situation. My Reddit account is gone, so if Lemmy continues to grow I see no reason why I'd go back. If Lemmy dies, then obviously I wouldn't have anywhere else to go.

Can you imagine the push it'll take to implement when probably half the country is too uneducated to understand how it works?

So young to be wrapped up in such senseless hate.
thesalamander 1 year ago • 100%
It was probably the extreme surge in popularity. Sustaining hate for something so innocuous is difficult long-term, so people lost interest. My son and I started in season 2, and he still plays with his friends. It's a phenomenal social game.
That's my guess anyway.

Yes, sort of.
My 20s saw my first real back, ankle, and knee injuries/soreness. Also had my first crown done around then. I felt pretty depressed about it.
I picked up stretching, yoga, and low impact cross training. 20 years later I can honestly say that my back and knees have never been better. I'm a lot more thoughtful about preparation and risks I choose to take.

I've got a 25 year old relative without a license. Guess what he always needs? A ride.
Not to say OP is the same burden. I'm sure you just live in a city with decent transit.
thesalamander 1 year ago • 100%
The bus in my town arrives every 90 minutes. For my usual 13 minute drive to the grocery store, it would take 52 minutes according to Google Maps. That's IF I somehow found myself at the pickup(3 miles from my house), boarded right away, and hopped right back on after shopping. We're a family of 4, so how many groceries would I be carrying through this ordeal? Probably more than I'd prefer. It's just not feasible in rural America, and incredibly inefficient.

Public transit is the slowest option everywhere I've lived(cities from 5k to 500k population).
Disturbed people, smelly people, loud music, unwelcome conversation, fights, and urine/food/filth on the seating has also made public transit a last resort for me.
Driving and all it's privileges is an absolute pleasure when you don't live in too big a city.

I agree. Missing 25 games as a professional player while your team either gels or struggles without you would be extremely difficult. If this isn't a wakeup call then 35 or 45 games wouldn't be either.

I couldn't get the glass to work. Totally failed. Then went with the flexible "self healing" skin protector. Got it on perfectly, but it's like soft rubber, kinda grippy when you try to slide your finger across it.
At this point I didn't give a shit if the fingerprint worked or not lol. Haven't tested, she don't care.
I've heard the 8 pro gets a flat screen. Hope so.

Wife wanted a decent camera, and I wanted to switch to Google Fi, so she got the 6 Pro. I really hate the curved edges and all the problems with screen protectors that go along with it, as putting those on falls to me. She seems to love everything else about it.

$50 or so. Could've spent less with just the original battle pass, but it seems well worth the money considering the years I've put in at this point.

The highs and lows he's experienced in the last couple decades are pretty extreme. Heartbreaking.

Drafting Scoot sounds like a rebuild and moving on from Dame.
Trading that pick for Zion would make one more run with Dame a LOT more interesting. Like you said though, he's gotta be healthy. It's a gamble.

It's far from perfect, but I'm taking a stand.
Half the reason I used Reddit was to cure boredom. I've decided to find other things to do. The other main reason I loved to check in was to make sure I don't miss big news. So far, Lemmy seems to scratch that itch. It'll take a long time for niche communities to establish, but I'll just deal with that for now. Maybe I'll just go back to some old forums for that purpose.

People always referred to subreddits as a sub or community anyway. Easy.

Same here, but I remember newcomers saying the same about Reddit. I'm going to stick with it.
