First Trump's idiots will do something stupid. Then Kamala will overreact and do something stupid which infringes on all our freedoms, like extra spying and cracking down on speech and curtailing the right to protest.

This clearly only applies to situations where the kids have more money than the parents. Generally, family helps out when they can. If you can't help, then don't. Obviously you shouldn't help your parents financially if they're more wealthy than you.

I've never heard this before, and it sounds gross and stupid. If you have the power to help your family then do it. Ignore the psycho who lets his parents wallow in poverty.
Although personally I'm more broke than my parents so it's not an option.

In order to answer this, I'd need to compare the efficacy of both the for-profit and the non-profit organizations. In some countries you don't get paid, and I don't know if that leads to blood shortages.

By "self hosting" do you mean serving apps from your own computer, where that computer is always online so you can access your own apps from the net on a client machine? Even when you're at work or out in the city?

I can't put my finger on it. I keep trying to watch it, but it always loses my interest. The plots sound amazing but there's something in the style that pushes me away.

I'll give them credit for sticking with it so far. I even keep getting updates. But I assume they're brainstorming ways to end the one-time payment installations.

I like this (and largely follow it), except that I occasionally need CMYK color space for printing, and GIMP makes that extreeeeeeeeemely difficult and annoying. That's why I use Affinity. I got the software for the single lifetime price and I'm hoping they let me keep it...
sentient_loom 2 weeks ago • 100%
That's too bad since they recently purchased the excellent Affinity suite... which I originally bought for a single lifetime price, but they're switching to a subscription model. So my favorite editing suite might get ruined two ways.

I think most of us have a good idea of the benefits and drawbacks of Linux/Windows/Apple.
I have a Windows machine for media production, because Linux doesn't support all the software I need for media production. I use Linux for absolutely everything else, because it's better for literally everything else. In truth, a MacBook Pro would be better for media production but they're too expensive.

Pick something to get good at, then really work to get really good at it. The younger the better. But be focused. Ideally something you can make money with.

Except that "the women" on your sites are often bots controlled by the site. Men will drag themselves through hell when they're led on by a bot, too. And the site gets to control the bots.

The beginnings of a serialized comedic novel. A multi-plot political epic.
It's basically a comedic programming language, and it's amazing and beautiful and I love it. I haven't used it, of course. I just read the documentation: https://github.com/TodePond/DreamBerd
I bought this Keychron V3 barebones kit with some nice keycaps and Kailh Speed Pro Heavy Plum switches (70g tactile). I did the bandaid mod and the tape mod. I tried it with linear 40g Keychron switches first but it felt and sounded weird. The full black keyboard is almost ominous and requires heavier actuation for the full experience of it to be consistent. So these tactile 70g Kailhs are perfect. The sound is more dampened because the keystrokes don't bottom out as hard, but it's also more crisp because of the barely-noticeable tactile bump. It feels like I'm writing on stone somehow. It's really a unique typing experience. I guess the "keyboard enthusiast" trajectory is one of escalation because I've graduated to the barebones kits and I'm dreaming of fully customized boards now. EDIT: This was supposed to be a photo post but the photo didn't work. ![](https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/15b8fbf7-01fc-4f82-8d75-b3994ce643b2.webp) ![](https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/9863c120-c32b-4316-93eb-8b9c84740cce.webp)
I ordered a new keyboard from keychron.ca but forgot to update my address since the last time I ordered (I moved to a new city). So now the order is paid, not yet fulfilled, but I can't get through to help and there's no option for changing the address. I sent them an email and I keep waiting for somebody to be available in the chat. I don't want to relax too much or wait too long, just in case they send it to the wrong address. At that point it will be too late. Has anybody dealt with a similar situation from Keychron? Edit: They did finally respond and changed the shipping address in the backend (it does not appear in my order listing but I'll trust them that it's changed in the places that matter).
I never saw anybody complaining about Sync or its pricing. But I've been inundated with bad memes about how it's wrong to criticize Sync. It's like how right wingers keep complaining about the war on Christmas and how you're not allowed to say "merry christmas" anymore... but I never heard anybody say "don't say merry Christmas." I had downloaded Sync and I was 100% going to try it... but now I hate it because of this ad campaign. And yes, I know that's irrational, and no, I don't care! I'll donate to Jerboa and Connect and I'll keep using them until the Sync zealots relax a little.
