https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/abc-news/ https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/fox-news-bias/ These organizations are on very different levels of bias and credibility.
Furthermore, the ABC debate was already agreed to and scheduled. Why on earth would Harris agree to change the debate to a host known for spreading misinformation with an extreme right wing bias?
Trump chose to agree to this debate. He doesnt get to change the agreement after.

Read the first paragraph of the article. He was trying to dodge the ABC debate and instead have it on Fox. Obviously Kamala would not want to have the debate run by a company heavily biased towards her opponent.

Every modern android phone I've used comes with Google Messages by defualt.

That is only on rooted roms and ones using MicroG. GrapheneOS is generally not rooted and uses Google Play Services by sandboxing it. I am using RCS on my Pixel 7 running GrapheneOS.

It does work on GrapheneOS, but you need to have Google Play Services installed.

Why on earth would you not just hand them the phone to put a song in queue. Also what songs are exclusive to a specific streaming service? Just play it on whatever you were already listening on.

I'm interested in them finding a way to get AC working, but I really dislike this method of doing so. There are a ton of kernel variations, so this would really only work on specific distros and devices. This becoming standard would likely mean being unable to use optimized kernels, different schedulers, and other kernel modules like the ZFS drivers.

As far as I understand, the protocol and client apps are completely open souce. I do not believe the Bluesky software is open source, so you could not host an instance the same way you would with Mastodon. I could be missing something or not underatanding, but that's what it seems to me.

A great custom skin, and far better defaults for both privacy and speed, based on Betterfox.
The fact that a fork that simply has a better UI and default settings is gaining so much popularity shows how bad Mozilla is fumbling their product.

Bluesky is built on an open source ActivityPub alternative called "AT Protocol". However, Bluesky itself is not open source* and afaik does not yet federate with any other software. The company is a "public benefit corporation".
From my understanding, Bluesky has good moderation, to the point where Jack Dorsey (the Twitter founder) condemned it and withdrew from the project. That's a big plus in my book.
- Another commenter pointed out that some parts of it are open source, such as the apps and at least some parts of the backend. Im not sure to what extent the backend is open source.

When you try do sign up on the Mastodon app it defaults to and recommends mastodon.social, which does nothing of this sort. The average user will just keep this default and be fine.

I do really wish mastodon had normal quote replies. I believe they decided not include it for reasons related to harassment or bullying. I don't really get it since you can do practically the same thing but just linking to the post in yours. The mastodon UI even makes it look almost the same as a quote reply.

Fairly recently, I saw an app that served the same purpose as Barrier or Input-leap, allowing you use one computer to control the keyboard and cursor of multiple. I'm fairly certain it was designed with GTK 4, or maybe 3, and it had Wayland support. I've had no luck getting input-leap working well on my devices, so if anyone knows what app this was (or any other options) I would really appreciate it. Update: Despite searching for 15 minutes before posting, I found it seconds later, thanks to DDGs reddit bang. It is [lan-mouse](https://github.com/feschber/lan-mouse). Will leave this up in case this software comes in handy for others.

When I use open source software, I'll usually attempt to fix any small bugs I run into. I prefer to use an app made in a language I'm more familiar with to make this easier.

My point was that a game being from a common genre has nothing to do with its ability to innovate. Not sure where I implied that I was obligated to reply to you. I disagreed with your sentiment, so I shared my own opinion. It's fine if you feel my comment was aimless, but I disagree.

The game does what its trying to do excellently, and knowing Valve it'll continue to improve until release. If you like MOBAs and you like good shooter mechanics, you'll most likely enjoy this game.

streamers don't owe playing a single game forever to their viewers. If you like the streamer you can follow them to another game, or you can find someone else to watch. It'd be very strange to expect someone to play to not play the game they enjoy most just because you subscribe to them on twitch, especially when you can stop subscribing whenever.

NGL losing your guardian the first time you back is a skill issue. Maybe if the entire enemy team rotated to your lane. It usually takes at least 2 retreats to lose your guardian. More if you're playing with your lane teammate correctly and using your speed boost at the right times.

I don't think it's people that can't get into MOBAs, it's people that enjoy good movement and shooting mechanics, while also enjoying MOBA mechanics, which a lot of people fall into. I can also say for certain that SMITE will not scratch the itch of people who want good movement and shooting similar to a traditional shooter.

Because something is an FPS it can't be groundbreaking? FPS is an incredibly wide genre, something being an FPS does not mean it cant be doing new incredible things.
Not that I'm saying this game is groundbreaking, it isn't, but it is a really excellent fusion of two of the most popular genres in the world.

When I switched it didn't even have anything to do with the enshittification of Windows. I just thought it would be cool to try another OS. Pop_OS was really nice to use and this just so happened to be right around the time Proton was getting really good. I think the only game I was playing that didn't work was Siege, and I ended up preferring using Linux to playing it.

You don't need to be into BDSM to know the term gimp suit. I've seen it referred to in media plenty of times before. I think it's less common now, but it's likely the first thought of many people who hear the name. That or the offensive term for a disabled person, which is not any better.

That's some big slippery slope fallacy. Privacy respecting AI was a highly requested feature, whether you wanted it or not.
Them adding an AI mail assistant that is completely private has nothing to do with them eventually not protecting user privacy. These things have nothing to do with each other.
AI is not inherently a privacy invading tool, its just that the majority of services offering it are free, hence them profiting off data.

I've been using Protonmail as my primary address for a few years now. I'm yet to have a single spam email make it to my inbox. In comparison, I use my gmail less and I've had a few blatant crypto scams make it to my inbox.
I'm not saying for certain that it's better than Gmail's, but that's my experience so far.

Do any of you have any software you can recommend for removing unwanted audio tracks and subtitles? Some of my shows and movies have multiple, and the Roku app does not follow the users set default language, leading to it playing the wrong track when autoplaying. I've tried unmanic, but its unfortunately too heavy for my server, just slows everything to a crawl.
I'm not the creator of this video, but I wanted to share it because Warfork is an incredibly fun game and more people should be playing it. It's not super populated, but you can usually find a good match. Highly recommend trying it if you enjoy (or want to try) arena shooters!
