Those two are really the only good use cases today for facebook. Insane how Marketplace pretty much overnight almost killed local listing sites. Events I don't see good alternatives, don't have much hopes for that one, time will show

I just switched to Bazzite yesterday and it's insane how far linux has come. Next-next and everything works, even on a nightmare combination of hardware (Lenovo Legion half assed uefi, amd apu+ nvidia gpu).

To be frank I have used it since it started way back and it continues to have the best user experience among messengers. I myself don't use it for any crucial information but as a messenger with it's featureset it's second to none. When a better alternative pops up which will have a better UI and such an extensive featureset I will probably switch over

For the first time in a long time I might stick seeing the state of Linux today, especially Plasma 6. I'm eyeing Fedora 40 or Bazzite, tried Kinoite and pretty much everything I need works out of the box, the only thing I need to figure out is OneDrive.

How down-puttingly assuming of you to know me or my country who in its entire long history never invaded someone and was mostly a vassal for others. We gained independence after a bloody civil war which tore the country apart and saw its fair share of genocide, during which the whole world stood by the sidelines. No, muslims are not the only victims of this cruel world.
No, I generally don't comment on politics exactly because it breeds polarizing comments like this, but this open call for death for any side is horrific from my point of view, who saw what it does to a nation. This outlook of complete eradication of the other side is what is preventing any possible long lasting peace, and truthfully if the people don't recognize it there won't be anybody left to see it. As it currently stands there will be no peace until one side completely displaces the other, which is not what I or the vast majority of the world want.

In the same boat, I miss it still, other ones have a worse UI for me and hate the ad slots in the app although I have DNS ad blocking but its still annoying. Do update me if you find a good replacement as we're looking for the same thing

You may hit the nail on the head, once you get the broom you just breeze past everyhring. The forbidden forest may be the most dense content wise on foot, everything after that does feel more sparse as it was designed with the broom in mind. All in all I still enjoyed the game and got my moneys worth out of it, I did pick it up rather cheap on a sale

My favorite was Total Annihilation, it had great orchestral music, and was also the first legit game i bought. Totally worth the money, and I also won't forget the moment when I copied the CD for backup and found out it had normal audio tracks, had to immediately check it in the CD player - and it worked!

That's exactly how I use it, I buy the subscription pretty much exclusively for OneDrive for myself and my close family, the office suite is a nice plus. It's the cheapest online storage when you calculate the size per dollar and is even cheaper when you look at it per user basis.

Thinking about it we may actually have less breakage now as Blizzard has started selling Diablo 4 on Steam provided they implement it well. Does that version come with battle.net launcher as mandatory or is that requirement foregone beside account linking?

I've noticed notifications are working sporadically now for quite some time (at least half a year now) for both Android (both Play store version and APK) and iOS from my experience. Only on the deskptop version of it are notifications instant, hope they will fix it at some point

Bought Hogwarts Legacy a week or so on a deep discount and I'm enjoying the hell of it. During december I traditionally watch the Harry Potter movies so now I expanded to the game. So far it might be my game of the year since I didn't try Baldur's gate 3 yet, I'll pick that one up on a sale later on. I'm taking my time and explore every nook and cranny in the game. I was hyped for Diablo 4 as a long time devotee but in it's current form it's simply not fun and needs quire a rework for me to pick it up sadly. The atmosphere, visuals, music, even combat is spot on but it lost way too much on other fronts. Starfield is another game which I put on hold as I simply didn't continue the game at some point, will probably resume it after a few more patches.

Right off the top of my head I can think of two:
- best chance sites are working as intended, including DRM compatibility
- probably best integration with streaming solutions and integration with other apps

I'a bit lazy so I just use precompiled apk's from some good soul from the internet and avoid the hassle alltogether. I roll with a release until something breaks, whick can go for quite some time and then manually just install the new build, works flawlessly. Here's the source I use

Just a heads up, I'm not an apple user, it never clicked with me but this might be the best spot to get an answer for my specific use case. What I do like was their old 3.5 mm jack earphones, but the playback controls never worked right on my android phone, probably because of the wiring layout or some DRM screwery. I've been looking to buy a second pair of them as my primary one has been confiscated by my better half, and I saw that they put out a USB-C version of those. If any one has those headphones, can you test them out on an android device, or if you are sure can comment if the volume and playback controls work outside Apple's devices or are they locked to just their devices? I didn't see that info in any reviews and would know that bit of info before buying them blind.

Like some others have said, it’s a docking port of some sorts but I’ve never seen it in practice. In our company we buy the universal hybrid usb C docks and they are great. The connector has also a more useful secondary USB C port which you can use for charging if the primary port dies for some reason, saved us on numerous occasions that way so the user can work while we prepare a replacement machine.

It seems they are silently fixing stuff on their end, packages are being repaired in Package manager and version check is working normally
On the safe side better to wait out for a few days for things to stabilize but it appears everything's getting back up
I'm writing this post because I've gone through all the usual troubleshooting tips and I'm at an dead end. I was cleaning up my DS216j and checked if there were any new updates and stumbled by accident that the NAS didn't auto update to the newest version as per the [release notes](http://update7.synology.com/autoupdate/whatsnew.php?model=DS216j&update_version=69057-1) for that model. It was stuck on *7.1.1-42962 Update 6* so I manually updated it to *7.2.1-69057 Update 1* as suggested by the notes and here the issue began. I knew something was off as soon as I saw the app images corrupted ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/91d32d20-aba3-44cf-a72b-1fa00e19d0d9.png) Going to the package center it can't connect to it and is throwing the following error: >Connection failed. Please check your network and time settings, or refer to this article for further information. For pretty much any app it throws the following description: ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/5a9d5104-3e07-4541-afce-e42561fe67eb.png) DSM update can't do a version check and is failing as seen below ![](https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/a236816d-ccd5-4a3d-a919-224b12a4e389.png) [Synology service status page](https://www.synology.com/en-global/support/synology_service) says everything's up. The device itself has access to the internet (NTP syncs time, Configuration backup is working) and I can curl webs sites from synology normally via SSH so I'm a bit puzzled. **EDIT:** Upon digging a bit further on the [Synology forums](https://community.synology.com/enu/forum/1/post/163326) it appears I'm not the only one affected as there are other reports for pretty much the same thing

Seeing a lot of Manjaro here, what's the deal? I installed it just yesterday on a test machine to check it out as I plan on steering over from windows long-term so just browsing what's out there. Don't really have issues and it ticks the boxes of a more user-friendly installation and comes out of the box with Plasma. I may try out pure Arch or the GUI fork just not to have the hassle of setting up the DE

I blame people's shorter attention spans for it, to a degree I'm also guilty of it. Can't read a book nowadays before my focus shifts somewhere else.
