Can’t speak for TikTok as i’ve never really used it, but Shorts and Reels do have a seek bar at the bottom of the screen. It’s barely noticeable at first but it’s there. And on Shorts you can tap once on the screen to pause the video if you’re on mobile.
Now, I love to hate on the smartphone-ification of web video as much as the next person, but this meme just feels like bait.

Discovery of new music is so much easier now with Spotify/YouTube/etc. In the past you had a slim-to-none chance of coming across a band/artist/album outside your local scene, no matter what the genre. Back then you kind of had to be "in the know" for that to happen.

“Literally 1984”… unless I’m asking you what year the Macintosh 128k came out I don’t wanna hear it.
Ask some people why Windows Vista failed and they will tell you that most of the problem came from hardware compatibility. I don't remember ever having problems with Vista back when I used it. Then again I was running it on a brand new computer with the OS in question preinstalled. And that's another thing, I think you're pretty much expected to upgrade your hardware at least every few years. I'd like to think that the people who had problems with Vista kept the same white-box PC they've had since 98SE, or even 95. Vista ran great if you had the right hardware. Maybe if Microsoft had optimized their OS even for XP-era machines it would have seen greater adoption. I also really liked the Aero glass theme, it made younger me feel like I was in the future. Those gadgets at the side of the desktop were pretty cool too. Overall I think it was definitely ahead of its time, and with support for current software and hardware, would have been a solid choice for average computer users today.

MATLAB is an okay programming language when used in the right context. It’s intended for scientific applications, so trying to do your standard object oriented programming with it gets weird. I think we forget that some things were made for a specific purpose- you know, a hammer can’t do everything and all that.
