Crystalized honey is still good! Crystalization is a natural occurrence for honey. Just needs to be heated to be liquid again -- though some people actually prefer it crystalized because they can spread it with a butter knife

Damn, I didn't know it got cancelled. Was pretty exciting to see a new player in the life sim genre.
Hope this isn't the same fate that's in store for Paralives

Yeah this assumes you chose bay, and that max DIDNT learn her lesson about time travel.
Presumably these are the reasons DONTNOD didn't make a sequel, Deck Nine taking over the franchise never sat right with me

Yes but also no. I meant moreso that the owners name can only be written into a Shinigamis death note, correct?
I remember the rules saying something about it having no effect, i think
jivandabeast 4 months ago • 93%
But if ownership is never transferred, since Light would know its been taken into custody, doesn't that mean that it would have no effect?
Been a while since I've consumed anything deathnote related though

They did, but I'm not sure that applies in this case unless for some reason OpenAI signed a deal with SAG. Otherwise, they aren't beholden to any protections not afforded by the law.
At least, AFAIK. Someone with more legal knowledge should probably chime in

Perhaps, but on the other side of that coin: Because valve doesn't have legal obligations to make money snd increase shareholder value, they put a lot of money elsewhere. The products they create are awesome (literally the best launcher on PC, Tim Sweeney is probably upset because his is ass) and invest heavily in things better for gamers:
- digital returns were huge when they first rolled out
- (IMO) spearheading game streaming with steam in home streaming & the steam link
- creating awesome games and not milking them for perpetual profit (other than maybe in game items but i don't want to have this discussion)
- investing heavily in alternative ways to play (steam machines, aforementioned steam link, VR/index, steam controller, steam deck)
- legitimately spending money to make it possible to game on Linux, reducing gamers reliance on Microsoft/Windows

So i don't know what kit you have or what it came with but here's everything I would use:
Equipment:
- Star San (make sure everything is sanitized, also don't rinse this stuff out -- "don't fear the foam")
- Airlock (and bung)
- Fermenter (I like big mouth bubblers, but your kit should have come with something)
- A spoon
Ingredients:
- Honey (I do 3lbs per gal)
- Water (I use store bought water, because I'm paranoid lol)
- If you're using fresh fruit, pectic enzyme (this helps break down haze in the mead from the fruit)
- Fermaid-O (this is the nutrients)
- Wine Tanin (optional, for aging)
- Yeast (you can get some cheap yeast on Amazon -- I used Red Star "Cote Des Blancs" for my strawberry mead, but your kit probably came with this)
Watch some YouTube videos to get a feel for the process. I enjoy City Stead Brewing, they have tons of recipes and helpful tips. Also, if you're gonna bottle and stuff you'll need wine bottles, a siphon and bottling wand, corks, and a corker. You can bottle in swing-top bottles, but I haven't had good luck with those (apparently they're not great for long term storage >.>)
Like i said though, for your first mead it's probably best to KISS. I appreciate being able to get a feel for the process and then experimenting later on. I've only made two meads, but have made wine and a LOT of beer in the past -- so if you have more questions just lmk!

👋 fellow homebrewer (do we have a homebrew community here yet?)
My advice: your first mead is probably gonna be more of a learning experience. Go to costco and buy a big bottle of honey (3lbs), mix it with a gallon of water, and some nutrients.
Most cost effective way to try it out without blowing a ton of money. My first mead was terrible, and i spent a ton of money on good local honey.
My second mead i spent even more on better honey and strawberries, to apply everything i learned. Came out amazing

That makes sense, it's a little weirdly illustrated IMO, the lady snake has move lines around her so it just looks like they were walking (slithering?) to me.
I would have removed that and then flipped him 180° in panel 3, so it looks like he's turned around

one specific community, primarily one one instance. The concept of "rule" originates on r/196, where the only rule is that you have to post when you visit.
Therefore, its easiest to write "posting because rule" in the title rather than something creative. AFAIK this eventually devolved into just saying "Rule" or some sort of play on it.

My point exactly, the flavors are not the problem. A lot of states have banned them yet the problem persists, because it was never about the flavors. It's 100% a social thing IMO, online glorification and peer pressure.
Not peer pressure like how its depicted in the media, but real peer pressure. Your friends vape, and they're always vaping around you -- then one day you get a little curious about it and it snowballs from there.

You had me until "limited flavor", why? How is the alcohol industry allowed to create insane flavors (blue raspberry, literally any fruit, rocket popsicle, etc) but the tobacco industry can't? Makes no sense.
Adults should be allowed to enjoy things they want to. Perhaps if the government was stricter with id laws and online ordering we wouldn't be in this situation. There are far too many shops I've seen that don't check ID and THAT is how kids are getting them. The flavors have nothing to do with it (remember, terrible flavors didn't stop kids of the 80s from smoking).
IMO it has more to do with online glorification than anything else

As the title states, I have an issue where all images stored in pictrs are returning a 404 when trying to view them. You can see an example of this here https://lemmy.browntown.dev/post/27130. If i check the pictrs docker volume, I can find the image manually and if I curl `pictrs_ip:8080/image/original/[image.ext]` i can view it in the browser. So I know for a fact that Lemmy is communicating with pictrs to upload the image, but there's something funky going on with viewing. Hopefully someone here has an idea of where to go with this, I'm at my wits end lol. I've tried: * Creating a different pictrs container and using that * Pointing to an external ip for pictrs (i.e. 192.168.x.xxx instead of pictrs:8080) Not sure what to do outside of this? EDIT: Turns out the solution was to disable "cache assets" in nginx proxy manager! Not sure why that helped, but once I did that everything started working as expected.
As thr title states, has the community found a new home yet? Want get back to monitoring for those grail trackers!
I stood up my own instance, and it's federating (kind of?) but none of the posts are showing up with their comments. If I look on the main instance I can see the comments but not on mine. This also applies to sticky posts not being stickied when i view from my own instance. Is this a bug, a misconfiguration on my end, or a result of servers being overloaded? EDIT: In case anyone else has this, the issue was that I made the boneheaded mistake of just using the docker container for postgres i already had running without checking versions. Lemmy needs postgres15 and i gave it postgres11, causing comments not to be saved in the db and all sorts of funky issues.
