How would you handle Reddit admins (paid employees of Reddit) visiting and playing along with Lemmy and the Fediverse?
Ban evasion is used by malicious actors to spread trouble to moderators, but when do you think ban evasion can be moral and justified, and when is it immoral?
We know that these platforms have incredibly powerful ban evasion filters that filter on browser fingerprinting, OS fingerprinting, machine learning, etc. The question is, which of them is the most powerful at detecting ban evaders?

So should I use Mull over Brave? And why is the last version six months old?
Edit: Do you mean this version?
gylotip 1 year ago • 50%
Do you mean this? I don't want any Tor-related stuff, and this says something about Tor, so that's something I'd avoid.
Edit: Someone said that it does in fact not use Tor, so I am safe from landing on those websites, but do you think Mull can handle fingerprinting blocking better than Brave?
I use LibreWolf mainly because it handles fingerprinting and tracking blocking well and is open source. I also do not want Tor-related stuff because I don't want to risk going to illegal websites. So do you know any LibreWolf alternatives for mobile and Android that handle fingerprinting and tracking blocking well, automatically delete cookies and are open source?
gylotip 1 year ago • 100%
You should use LibreWolf with private window, automatically deleting cookies, fingerprinting blocking, and much more.

?

YTA for setting the community language settings to disallow specifying English as an option though
Can you explain what you mean with this? I don't understand it.
Hello, when I search in the search bar for some words, the results are not fully related. For example, if I filter it by Posts or Comments, the results are still inaccurate.

This is a backup in case the post gets deleted by creator or removed by mod:
Hello, this community exists because !amitheasshole@lemmy.ml is deleted by creator, thus effectively abandoned by the creator. My problem is that there is already one in lemmy.world called !aita@lemmy.world. So AITA for keeping this community open, while the subscribers are wondering why there isn’t any activity here?

Hello, what do you mean with your comment?
Hello, these rumors are getting out of hand. To make matters worse, they are rejecting Lemmy (the software) because of the rumors about the developers. You really need to do something about this, because the reputation of Lemmy (the software) is in serious danger. Thank you for listening to my concern about malicious rumors.

Someone should tell the developer to not do that. They should just shut down their app.

What does purge user
and purge post
do?
We all know their true colors. They have the aggression of your typical Reddit mods^TM^, who are power-tripping and permabanning users on steroids. Mods are users on steroids, so admins are on steroids' steroids. Admins are the niceguy^TM^ version of Reddit mods^TM^. Enough fooling around; you see how abusive someone in power can be? Don't even be fooled by their kind attitude. They won't hesitate to show you their true colors.

But I don't get it. If Reddit admins implemented new ban evasion filters, then how can we still circumvent sitewide suspensions while subreddit bans are impossible to evade? I hope that it stays that way.
**I am not advocating for ban evasion.** Reddit has implemented a powerful ban evasion filter that catches ban evaders who use alternate accounts to post on a subreddit they were banned from. Though, the same cannot be said for sitewide suspensions. While simply using a fingerprinting-blocking browser that deletes cookies every time you close the browser, you can circumvent a sitewide suspension, but evading a subreddit ban seems impossible. So why does Reddit prevent circumventing a subreddit ban while they are okay with sitewide suspension evasions? Don't get me wrong, I respect Reddit for not being too punishing to its users, but it still feels weird that they gave moderators so much power while administrators don't use it at all. Mind explaining their choices? **Again, I am not advocating for ban evasion, and please do not circumvent a ban.**

The idea was to fake Reddit removals so the users would think Reddit admins censor information. Remember, you cannot see whether a comment is removed by Reddit or faked by a user. Only posts show that on new.reddit.com, though reveddit.com can indicate whether a comment was removed by Reddit or not.
gylotip 1 year ago • 0%
Oh, okay, thank you for explaining why it's a bad idea.
gylotip 1 year ago • 0%
Why was the comment to which you replied removed by mod?
Remember the people who edited their comments where it said that they were editing their comments to protest? Then they deleted their accounts. What if you people who mass-edited your comments edited it instead with `[ Removed by Reddit ]`? Like, you edit all of your comments (not posts) with `[ Removed by Reddit ]`, so if people see your comment that has lots of upvotes replaced by `[ Removed by Reddit ]`, then they will think Reddit is censoring information. This is kind of accurate because Reddit is known for removing random information and punishing people for ridiculous reasons. This feels like an effective way to protest. So what is your opinion about this idea?
gylotip 1 year ago • 75%
Me too.

I am disappointed by this. Karma ruins whole discussions, and I hope the devs never add something bloody dreadful like that.

I like the current design, but the way the lines are too close to each other confuses me, so how can I get the design above me, where a line stops when a new child reply is dropped?
gylotip 1 year ago • 0%
The old UI used to be where one line stopped when a new child reply dropped, so the lines weren't sorted to each other.
gylotip 1 year ago • 0%
Well, people said that the old URL was bad design, so they are right.
Personally, I prefer Lemmy over Kbin because I hate karma and reputation points. I do not want to worry about downvotes, and Lemmy feels so fresh. I can post things that will receive lots of downvotes and not need to worry about losing karma.

What does ETA
mean?
The URL looks currently like this: ``` https://lemmy.ml/?dataType=Post&listingType=Local&page=1&sort=Active ``` But `&sort=Active` is at the end, while `&page=1` is right before. This is bad design, because `&page=1` is the one that changes every time when scrolling and pressing, so put `&page=1` at the end of the URL please: ``` https://lemmy.ml/?dataType=Post&listingType=Local&sort=Active&page=1 ``` See? It looks so much better.
When I rotate my screen sideways, the `Cancel` button is near `Reply` button, but when rotating my phone back to original, the `Cancel` button is under `Select language`, which is annoying, so can you fix that?
gylotip 1 year ago • 6%
The URL thing used to be
https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy/data_type/Comment/sort/New/Page/1
But now it's
https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy?dataType=Comment&page=1&sort=New
The URL feels uglier.
The new UI with the parent-child replies is so confusing. It used to be more clear when the child lines stopped when a new child reply dropped. The reply lines are now a mess. Please do something about this.
I found this quite a while ago, and the sounds and distortion are interesting to listen to. So do you know any music like that without vocals?

It annoys me that I won't receive notifications if someone posts or comments on a community I moderate. Because how am I supposed to do that if I don't even know what's happening to all of my communities? There should be an option you can receive notifications for activity in your communities.

Admins did the impossible: They gave mods unevadable ban evasion filter, while their own suspensions are at least possible to evade, I heard it from random users.

Accidentally commented on a subreddit I was banned from another account. Quickly deleting it still didn't work. The mods reported it to the admins, thus you know.

Why are you threatening me?
gylotip 1 year ago • 100%
Wait, so you mean that the Reddit admins are secretly against spez?
Play here truth or dare as intended.
Why? Well, remember the power-tripping mods? Remember the admins falsely suspending accounts for ridiculous reasons? See? They are both our enemies. Always has been our enemy. But now, the mods are shaking in fear of losing their power. They can finally feel what the users felt like. The admins are also uncomfortable. They both are at war with each other. Remember, our enemies are fighting with each other instead of teaming up to ban us. I just love how they finally get to experience our suffering. I can feel the pleasure of the mods begging admins to not take away their power.
[ Removed by reddit on account of violating the [content policy](https://reddit.com/help/contentpolicy). ]
Let's say we have someone who shitposts on a subreddit. The mods will ban the shitposter, but the shitposter deletes their account. Now can the mods ban this deleted account? They can remove the post, but now they wonder whether they can ban the account. How would that work? Would the mods request the admins to look at the deleted account? Also, how does that work with the ban evasion filter?
I sent them a message on Saturday, but they still haven't replied so far. I also sent them a message via contact support on Thursday, but still no replies so far. Is this normal?
Since I joined Reddit six months ago, I don't know anything about Digg, so what happened?
