    I don't think the lesson from this comic is that manual labourers stuck in dark tunnels have it just as bad as people interviewing to be salaried office workers

Similar to applying to jobs online, it's tempting but basically crap. Just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean it's the best or healthiest strategy.
