cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/30002608 > For people who have psoriasis/eczema/bad skin, how did you get rid of your dandruff? > > I've been dealing with dandruff since I was a kid, it's always made me really insecure and always wear a hat. I've tried plenty of different hair products, none seem to work. It's not just my hair on my scalp, it's my beard as well. I'm a 19 year old male (Caucasian), I've been already deciding if I want to go bald or not. I still get dandruff even with a buzzcut and stubble. My skin just sucks. Please feel free to recommend products. I'm trying to improve my life and I find this to be one of the most annoying things.

Thanks! I like it, but it does not allow me to order my own following feed differently…
Whats the state of #algorithms on #Mastodon? I mean for the feed. I understand that algorithms based on engagement are problematic, but scaling posts based on posting frequency could help me not have a feed where some people are drowned out by frequent posters...

Rowan Gavin Paton Menzies (14 August 1937 – 12 April 2020)[1][2][3] was a British submarine lieutenant-commander who authored books claiming that the Chinese sailed to America before Columbus. Historians have rejected Menzies' theories and assertions[4][5][6][7][8]: 367–372 and have categorised his work as pseudohistory.[9][10][11]

What astroturfing? I am not organized or commanded by anyone lol. Also I’m neither pro nor contra AI. It’s a tool that can be useful or can be used in bad ways. This particular tool might be useful but only time will tell. And I just think it’s a fascinating area of computer development.

cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/27998954 > Israel quietly rolled out a mass facial recognition program in the Gaza Strip > > > Israel has deployed a mass facial recognition program in the Gaza Strip, creating a database of Palestinians without their knowledge or consent, The New York Times reports. The program, which was created after the October 7th attacks, uses technology from Google Photos as well as a custom tool built by the Tel Aviv-based company Corsight to identify people affiliated with Hamas.

I guess potentially to differentiate themselves against each other? And NIOD always seems a bit more alternative to me, so I think they are more invested in more experimental solutions! Just my guess though haha :) And yeah, I also use prescription retinoids, but this is the new OTC retinoid that I am recommending to everyone that asks me about skincare haha :D

I know this is probably very specific, but does anyone know where I could get the Les Mills or Apple Fitness videos?
Have any of you been on isotretinoin/Accutane? What are your tips to get through and manage side effects? Did you do anything at the same time to get the best results? And did your acne stay away for good? Since I am currently on it, it be curious for tips!
I used the CeraVe one for quite a while because I thought it was the best, and then I tried the Cetaphil one because it was on sale and: I like it way more! I think the high petrolatum content is what is so great for my skin! What are your preferences between these community faves? Or do you have another preference altogether?
But that’s why it’s so nice that there are some gems who actually have scientifically backed formulations, or even better: contribute to science by doing studies and creating new categories!
Hey there! It's currently pretty hot and I am struggling with my sunscreens literally melting off my face during the day (or at least it feels like it?). Does anyone have any good tips on sunscreens that are good in that regard?
I mean people are basically just exposing and cancelling themselves these days 🤷♂️ tbh if I would have to talk for hours in a random podcast I'm sure I would also spill my darkest secrets... but that's why I don't go on one (also no one would care lol but that's neither here nor there)
Which one do you guys prefer and why?
