Played it just an hour ago! It's good, im very happy with what I saw. I must have played the original game like 20 times back on the Wii, so i was watching this pretty closely, but no bad notes so far. I'm pretty satisfied with what I got to play!

Considering the game's other predictions, I wouldn't put it past them XD

Also, before i forget to share, THIS MOMENT actually gave me chills down my spine.
(Major story spoilers!) ::: spoiler spoiler :::
Raiden gets the bad touch. Hi all! I posted a few days ago when I finished MGS1 and im back! :) MGS2 blew my mind, holy crap, that was a GOOOOOD game. Same as before, short break, and onto MGS3!

I knew about them, i tried 1 and... well, it's a little too far back for me. I don't care for too many NES era games, apart from a few JRPGs

Boldly diving into the series for the first time! I needed something different, and I figured "Fuck it, Metal Gear time. I've been wanting to try it for a long time. Snake was one of my mains in Smash." lol
Anyway, obviously i've heard PLENTY about the series, but thankfully in casual conversation, most people dont talk about story details, so im pretty blank on twists and turns.

Sadly no, too many damn lists, "top 10 details in gaming", and other such things like that to avoid the spoilers lol. But, i sat back and enjoyed the game as not only a "game" but a little piece of gaming history and DAMN, MGS is very ahead of it's time in style, meta references, and presentation. I couldn't stop a big dumb grin spreading on my face when ::: spoiler spoiler the screen blacked out with a green "Hideo" in the corner in Mantis's fight. ::: (Mantis fight spoilers) I even loved the little deathtraps in the game, trap doors in the floor, bullshit little gun turrets hidden around corners... but my dumb ass likes Fatal Labyrinth on the Genesis, so do with that as you will XD
Just played metal gear solid. Damn, that actually surprised me. The story was good, gameplay was good, and this was all done on the PS1? I'm taking a small break before heading up to MGS2 and figured I'd share this screenshot for all my fellow gamers XD

Funnily enough, I figured it out really fast, like I GET IT, it was a very strange and wonky mechanic to suddenly hit players with, but i was immediately wiggling around the moment I got on it, trying to figure out what they wanted and noticed that I was bouncing a little more when I moved up and down. So kind of... like pure chance I got out alive lol

Slightly unfair to say, though. Hogwarts Legacy got a multiplatform release. TOTK only released on Switch.
Counter-point for fairness, It's impressive that TOTK got that many sales on it's own while being stuck on one platform!
Either way, 2023 was a good year for gaming. Lots of fun stuff got released and I hope we can keep this trend going.

Damn, you accidentally did a challenge run!
I remembered a good brainfart of mine and wondered if anyone else had one to share. Mine is this: I couldn't figure out how to parry attacks in MGR: Revengence all the way up to Monsoon. I just jumped around a lot and played ultra aggressively and it worked! ...Kind of! I just had to make sure I NEVER used heavy attacks. Blade Wolf was a nightmare but I was able to muscle through, but Monsoon? No way in hell. I still blame the combat tutorial though. "To parry, push the control stick toward the enemy and press the light attack button!" I interpreted that as "just make sure you're facing the enemy and time the button press right." when they meant "Push the stick in the direction of the enemy and press attack AT THE SAME TIME."

Yeah... I already wasn't a fan of where the series was going story and gameplay-wise, now I'm just gonna have to call it here. I think im gonna be taking a looooong break from Like a Dragon/Yakuza. I'm not gonna back this shitty behavior with my money. Even If this turns out to be a fun game, they're saying "Oh, the STORY is 100 hours by itself!" No way in HELL that is all forward progress and gripping tales. These games have fluff and filler in their normal ~20 hour stories. I'd just end up losing track of things and burning out well before any the end of the game.

Thank you so much! Wanna hear a secret? I am NOT an artist XD Im actually REALLY bad at graphical art like pixel art, but I was able to kind of cheese it in a way. When you load up Blockbench with the "New Minecraft Skin" thing, it makes a default example skin texture as an example.
Because of the low resolution of the texture, pixels are very noticeable, and from there, I just played with the brushes and gradients in different shades of brown for the fur and hair, and then I drew the clothes on top over my "fur" base.

A lot XD The main ones are a texture pack called DefaultPack Remastered, Plantlife, MoreBlocks, and X-Decor for all my building needs :)

Wow, thanks for the breakdown! This is actually very interesting to me, since I usually play either solo or with my friend group and ALWAYS casually. I just find it funny because "why wouldn't you use your flare gun? You can see better!" Seriously, i love that thing. The power of the sun in my pocket!

Do scouts seriously not use their flare guns? I see this pop up here and there and, as a Scout main, I'm surprised. I use my flare gun every time there's a sizable room!

Decided to come back to this thread and check on it. Seems Wildlands is the clear winner XD
Silvia 11 months ago • 100%
I tried both and I feel like Wildlands is better. The world is very alive and expansive, plus the movement feels better. Something feels very clunky about breakpoint's movement. Oh, and I enjoyed Wildlands' primary enemies quite a bit more than Breakpoint. Wildlands does a good job of letting you SEE just how depraved the Sicarios are and their effects on the world.

ha, what a funny moment from a spider man comic!
what the fuck is going on in the comments.
I picked up Just Cause 2 after a long time of not playing it a little while ago and I had a bit of a realization.... I simultaneously get bored easily with and highly enjoy these games. Outposts and towns are incredibly repetitive, and those make up 90% of the game's runtime. It's not like that's all there is, and Just Cause 3 does have some other side diversions and new tools, but in the end, I'm just running, driving, and/or flying around a massive, largely empty, albeit pretty map. It's incredibly mindless sometimes, and I never stick around too long, but there's also this call to it. **It is mindless.** It's simple. I know where to go, what I'm gonna do. Im gonna see some pretty sights, big explosions, and I'm gonna zip around like a deranged Spider-Man. No deep planning or strategy, just spur-of-the-moment chaos. See a thing? Blow it up. It's almost like candy. As long as I only come back and play it here and there, I will play it consistently. Side note: On a certain level, exploring Just Cause's maps is pleasant in its own way. They are remarkably pretty and it kind of scratches an itch of just being able to GO. No real destination, no plan, just going.

A simple, stable mod that I adore. Adds Alfiq Khajiit to caravans, adds a few as potential followers, and has a random chance to be a courier!
A little while ago, I finally come out as trans to my friends. They've been wonderful, supportive, and encouraging. They were honestly the whole reason I finally was able to discover myself, especially my GF. But, and here's the key, I'm in a very delicate living situation, I'm pretty poor, and I can't reasonably just leave where I am and live somewhere else, not right now at least. Between the world and my rather transphobic family, I'm kind of stuck. I obviously can't get more feminine clothing, hair, ANY makeup of any sort, or anything I really want to try. I don't wanna make this a whole sob story or anything, so basically. Does anybody have some advice to FEEL more like a girl?
