Buy 4 new tires for your vehicle. All at once. Take a look at the vimes "boots theory of economic injustice" principal. 1000 seems extreme to you, but getting through the winter in certain parts can be sobering.
The point isnt the dollar figure, it's the principal.

Options where i live for non alcoholic beer are scarce where i live, but tbh, It's a little more of a "something that isnt beer at night" sort of thing than it is a drive for sobriety. Ive got no problem with a gin and tonic nightcap, however a glass or two of tea is cheaper and healthier. But thanks for the alternative. I appriciate it.

Been trying to cut back on my evening alcohol consumption. Its a simple, very flavor forward herbal tea, and its been a great drink for winding down and resetting for the night. I dont know what it is, but im a fan. Mint tea didnt do that, but a cup or two of bengal spice seems to be what i personally crave now.

I like lemmy, but i miss reddits ability for useless hot takes to be downvoted into oblivion.
So many people here really do think their hard line, no context opinions hold value.
Something something forest, trees, shitty visibility. For fucks sake.

Im in. I dont know how to bump visibility in my own personal feed, much less everyone elses. Maybe a response helps? 🤔

You do know what a false dichotomy is, right?
Richard McSpadden, the senior vice president of the AOPA Air Safety Institute, died along with one other person in the crash of a Cessna 177RG near Lake Placid Airport in upstate New York on Sunday.

If you wanna be supremely dissapointed on how long the worst of the worst can last after they commit horrible atrocities, look up pol pot. Assuming this man will pay consequences for his actions anytime in the near future is, unfortunately, very naïve.

Its a pretty good joke though, you gotta admit. Nothing like someone with a phd and the knowledge to mess with people not literate in the subject matter. Kudos to dr liu.

Abbot' predecessor was the driving force behind our massive wind energy investments. This is great news for clean energy and the state. I dont like abbot, and barely tolerated Perry, but every now and then, the leaders of Texas do something i can get behind.

Using an emoji lineup to pick what service is superior is the most pantshittingly stupid reasoning i have ever seen. Jesus fucking christ.

Its the whicons pack. The rest is just optimizing squarehome through trial and error. Change borders here, resize tile there, etc. Theres a ton of customization. Once its set the way you like it, you will carry it through the next phone and the next phone.

I migrated from windows phone to android and loved the windowsphone interface.
I use squarehome. It is infinitely customizable and with a little work the cleanest ui imaginable.

Ive used it to get a rough idea of approach into new airports. It isnt perfect at all, but has helped 'get a lay of the land' so to speak.
Sims suck for feeling how something will fly. Maybe it is the lack of hardware that makes me feel like im forcing the experience. But msfs has been an asset for a wierd approach on occasion, just to get an idea of what to expect flying into addison or centinneal for example.
Personally i get bored flying for 2 hours and not going outside my house. But i can see the appeal so i wont judge it. It has its place and plenty of people love it. If you can find a good service, for radio work ive noticed some sims are more educational than actual atc tbh. And way safer when you mess up royaly. Speaking as someone who has fucked up his calls with vegas approach, radio work is pretty important.
Complete Walkaround has quickly become one of my favorite YouTube channels. in each short form episode, you will get a breakdown of the performance, costs, and quirks of a plane that you may just be interested in. as an owner of a Comanche 250, I can attest that the breakdown of costs and performance are fairly accurate (region dependent for fixed costs), and a great starting point for potential owners.

Oh he will be the first one out when it goes public. Whatever majority shareholders make up the board will not look favorably on this. Now it is all positioning and planning for future resource extraction. In no profit driven world does spez remain ceo in 6 months. Guarantee it.

Not ridiculing you, but if you have "decently severe anxiety" over this, what the hell are you doing here?
Seriously, why are you feeding the beast in your head? This information machine is made to continue that trend. Just stop it and look at something else. Go for a walk or something and close the browser or phone. Heres a hint, if you have any excuse other than "oh shit you're right", you are an addict to this, and ive heard enough excuses from junkies in my life. Do better for yourself.

Well, to be fair. If you join the nazi server and stick around, i dont have much sympathy. Lets be honest, there will be hints.
It's the internet. Make a new account on a better place. For fucks sake you can probably keep the same username with zero repercussions. It isnt really a loss.
It took me all of 15 minutes to repopulate my subscribed list when i picked a dead end community. And when my current one fails, i can literally do the same again. It isnt a loss. My goal at a certain point is to maintain some semblance of anonymity anyways. I had countless reddit accounts over the past 12 years. Why would i be worried now?

So i guess that this solves the big problem short term. The influx has been the first growing pain. But long term it does nothing. They will get caught defederating from smaller instances over and over. Anyone that jumps in from smaller instances will be able to carry on, at least how i understand it. The cream will rise to the top eventually, but such a strong declaration so early isnt a good sign. If the mods from any large instance decide that "this is too much, ban them" is the best response, the lemmy community is destined to be a fractured mess, rather than a reddit killer or a reddit refugee state.
I guess, imo, i get it. 100% understand from a moderation point of view. But im frustrated that there is this big of a fold the first week of real volume. The cesspool will exist in any instance. But going thermobaric this early leads to nukes next week. And it may be a sign of why a strong corporate arm and direction, as much as we hate it, is currently the winning scenario. Unfederated control is powerful. The hydra has been unleashed, but for each head you cut off, three more appear.

"There i was..." is put out by the AOPA air safety institute and has live interviews with people who were in general aviation accidents or in incidence.
I also listen to "the finer points" with jason miller. He is a career cfi that goes through training scenarios and is a great resource for student pilots or people learning ifr.
