I'll have to hop on then 😁
Vivaldi (the web browser) is hosting a community talk together with AllThingsTech about "Why does being on the Fediverse matter to us?". You can listen along to it via. https://audon.space/u/@Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net. They start on the 25th of May, 13:00 EDT / 17:00 UTC.
Bookwyrm.world has hit over 100 members! Additionally, the instance ranks 11th among bookwyrm instances based on the MAU (Monthly Active Users), which I would say is pretty good! I hope that we'll see the next user milestone as soon as possible! If you have questions about bookwyrm or about the [bookwyrm.world](https://bookwyrm.world) instance, then either ask it in the comments, in a lemmy dm, a mastodon dm to me or the [bookwyrm.world mastodon account](https://mastodon.world/@bookwyrmworld) or via mail at [info@bookwyrm.world](mailto:info@bookwyrm.world). ::: spoiler Source The MAU ranking is based off [fedidb.org](https://fedidb.org/software/bookwyrm)'s list of instances, ordered by MAU. The information was gathered at the 13th of May 23:01 CEST (UTC+2) :::
We've successfully updated to version 0.7.3 of bookwyrm. Before the update, we created a backup to ensure that we don't lose too much in case anything goes wrong. We'll update you if we come across any problems, and if you come across any problems, then contact us by mail via. [info@bookwyrm.world](mailto:info@bookwyrm.world) ASAP! Have a continued good time reading! 📖🐉

I think there is one on f-drpid. But using the website as is works great on mobile aswell.
I thank [@vsp@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/u/vsp) / [@vsp@mastodon.world](https://mastodon.world/users/vsp) for this amazing new logo and banner for the socials! ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/cd8212c0-3c4e-4152-9979-a9b043fb2356.png) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/81f9496a-41ac-4a26-aa10-10d207ec8bf7.png)

Yeah. It is kinda "lacking" in the terms of reviews. But for each goodreads people that join, the more reviews and books we get, as you can import your goodreads library. And knowing the fediverse, it won't be that long, I hope ;P
MrCenny 6 months ago • 100%
Lol, yeah. It can be a little lacking for now, but knowing the fediverse, it won't be long until it also gets populated!
MrCenny 6 months ago • 100%
Lol yeah. Would be nice. But I'll bet ya we'll make an instance for it whenever it gets made :P

Bookwyrm is specifically made for booksharing and book reviewing. While lemmy is more general. For instance, this is a link to the "a game of thrones book" https://bookwyrm.world/book/8138/s/a-game-of-thrones. Here you have reviews of the book. You can also add that book to your "to read" list aswell.

If you are interested in sharing book recommendations with other, or just manage your books, then bookwyrm is great for that! The .world team also has a bookwyrm instance up and running at bookwyrm.world with a community here on lemmy as well at [!bookwyrm@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/c/bookwyrm). Read Ruuds original post about it here: [https://lemmy.world/post/5904792](https://lemmy.world/post/5904792) If you want to join another bookwyrm instance, then head over to [joinbookwyrm.com](https://joinbookwyrm.com). Anyway, it's a great place to find books, share books, and find people with similar interests in books! If there is anything that you feel needs to be improved or changed on the bookwyrm.world instance, then contact me! EDIT - Mastodon account for the instance: @bookwyrmworld@mastodon.world

Thank you! Everyone is welcome on the server, no matter the instance node 😊. Its nice to hear that you havent seen any griefing! What is your username on minecraft?
MrCenny 11 months ago • 100%
My take is that this is way better than expected! This server was originally just a side project for LW, but has become my main focus. Its incredible how much a community can do on their own with limited rules! And I am so happy to see that all the "old school" players still play on the server! We have had minimal griefing, and that is especially above our expectation. Have this server been a Reddit server, then there might have been some more trolls and griefers. What is also fun is that not everyone on the server uses lemmy.world, or lemmy at all!

Who's house could this be...

If this is correct, and is the exact position i stood in, wow!
MrCenny 12 months ago • 100%
Correct!
Hmm, where can this be?
MrCenny 12 months ago • 100%
I thin that was mostly because of the house beeing in the middle of a smaller "neighborhood". And so the unfinished design didnt fit too well.

Amazing! The server has come so far!
Becoming a member would support this amazing dev. 1$ a month is enough if enough people become a member. Go support this person as much as possible! **You are doing gods work Xylight!**
Since minecraft hates the "#" character in URLs, we need to find an alternative way of giving peeps the matrix invite. And viola! We have a perfect link sharing website called lemmy.world.... hmmm how interesting! Anyways: Here is the link, a 2nd time but this time inside of the post https://matrix.to/#/#minecraft:lemmy.world

Hey! Is this directed at LW itself? If so, then this is not the place to ask for support. This is the community for the official Minecraft server. Head to !support@lemmy.world.
This communal farm has really developed fast! There is now bamboo, cocoa beans, wheat, carrots, potatoes, cows, sheep, watermelons & pumpkins! Thank you to everyone that contributed to the farm so far!

Oh sorry, didn't see that 😅
much in the same vein as lemmy-status.org
I was also thinking that an opt-in or something similar would be nice. As overloading small project raspberries with a large monitoring website wouldn't be that nice...
MrCenny 1 year ago • 100%
There does exist something similar to this: https://lemmy-status.org. It will eventually have an automatic list, but it is not implemented yet. They are currently adding instances in manually. The owner is @jelloeater85@lemmy.world, one of our infra people at lemmy.world. The website is not connected to lemmy.world by any means btw.

I've recently moved to Kubuntu, and I think it's great for a first time distro. It's kinda like the fediverse, you can find whatever suits you after some time. I installed it on a separate SSD M.V2, and that works great for me. I do recommend having it side loaded with windows, so that you can still access it :)

Bots that want to be here on Lemmy.World has to follow some bot-rules. This was to avoid most of the Reddit reporters and general spammy bots. Here is a list of bots that i know of: (I am not pinging the bots, as that will most likely activate them and make them answer me in some way)
And that's about it actually, as far as I know 😅

Hey there! Thank you for bringing this up! As the user @PriorProject@lemmy.world says, the normal route for community "takeover" is to report them to us, and ask for the community that you want. I also see that you didn't want any of the communities, but thanks for reporting it! I've just now taken this up with the internal admin team :)

No problems man. Good luck with setting up the perfect stats screen!
Heyo! Just a heads up that jelloeater added startrek.website to his [lemmy status monitor](https://lemmy-status.org). This means that you (the admins) can add a badge to the sidebar to show your uptime the last 24 hours, if you want. Basically, it's free status monitoring. Bay! Awesome!
As we see more and more bots on Lemmy World every day, it’s about time we publish a set of rules for bots and bot-owners. So here goes: - Bots shall not be used for any kind of advertising. - The bot accounts must be clearly marked as a bot. Both in the bio and by marking the account as a bot. - The owner of the bot and contact details must be mentioned in the bot’s bio. - Bots are only allowed to post in communities they have the explicit permission from the community’s owners to do so. - Bots from other instances that post in Lemmy World communities must follow the same rules. - Bots shall not just be posting Reddit content. - Bots shall not be “spammy”, as in multiple posts per minute. - Breaking any of these rules will result in a ban for the Bot and, if required, its owner. - Commands must use the bots mention as prefix, and not a text prefix like !help These rules will be updated when needed.

So you mean like subscribing to the entire instance of lemmy.ml and only having lemmy.ml in your subscription list and not the induvidual communities? If so, no, you can't do that. But you can browse using the all button at the top of the page next to local to view all posts that is from federated instances :)

I hope I am not the only one 😅
After much finessing and hardship, I finally got oxygen and gravity setup. I had to go trough every corner of my hall to make sure that every block had another block either adjacent to it or diagonally to it. And after a bunch of head-banging against the wall -- tada! ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/097ce6d1-cdff-4982-992a-fb2264a64020.jpeg) *another view* ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/fda6221a-5b1b-41ae-b507-0d48812dcb41.jpeg) *For me this did not show up as the post image, so here it is (maybe for a 2nd time)*
Fedidb.org recommends people who view their statistics on their “Threadiverse” tracking page that people should not use graphs and numbers from the total users due to the surge of bot-accounts, and should instead use the monthly active users. This puts the “Threadiverse” at 87,089. Lemmy with 37,197 and Kbin at 44,136. Fedidb.org also shows that the number of accounts is now at 1,75 million, though most of these accounts are probably just bots.
I don't know if this is a feature or not, but if it is, it's not working for me. When opening a link that refers to a post or community it opens an in-buildt browser inside of the app, instead of ridercting me inside of the app itself. It's a real pain when openig lemmy links and having to switch to a browser every time. If this isn't a feature, is it planned?
This is my 3rd playtrough, and i am really starting to love theese in-game scripts. They add so much flair. I think I used about two hours just to setup all of my signs troughout my facility! The scripts you see there are [Automatic LCDs 2](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=822950976) on the sides and [Fancy Status Displays](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2071102021) in the middle. I especially like FSD because of the nice images. What are your favourite in-game scripts?
