I find it funny when colonizers project their own barbarism on the people they colonize. In fact most of the shit they do are just as barbaric (if not even more) than tying a woman on a table and cutting her heart out, widows burning themselves alive, and whatever reason the bastards give on why x indigenous group is barbaric real or fabricated. If anything if we objectively try to figure out which civilization is the most barbaric then the answer is the West. I'll list a few things western colonizers do that are even more barbaric than that: - expelling almost all the Jews from Spain for the most insane reason possible; - deliberately infecting native populations with smallpox (yes, that's a real thing); - the Roman empire expanding itself to gain more slaves (which is a terrible idea unsurprisingly); - supporting colonizing regimes in their reign of terror on the indigenous population; - deliberately destabilizing entire regions for both the profits of their [...] ultra-wealthy "benefactors" and to stop the masses from figuring out what's really going on; - waging bullshit wars like in Iraq, the War on Drugs, the recent debacle in Afghanistan, Korea, and now Palestine.

I won't deny that parents these days are horrible at their job however a lot of people who talk about this issue miss the point of how modern parents suck to begin with. The biggest reason is the methods of parenting modern parents use (e.g.. giving kids ipads instead of actually parenting), the reason why parents do this is mostly due to genuine lack of time to properly raise a kid. From my growing adult experience comparing prices of basic goods now compared to back then, and being shocked basic jobs, BASIC FUCKING JOBS, now require degrees that could bankrupt me. I can see why it's insanely hard to raise a kid nowadays. You try raising a child in today's age where where inflation combined with shit wages, the fact you can barely find a job nowadays, and long work hours. There's a reason why people these days aren't having kids these days. With such extreme pressure, parents would have no choice but to let the ipad raise the kids. If you're aware of the ipad baby epidemic, you should know the damage this type of parenting does. Essentially the question of why modern parents suck is basically society putting extreme pressure on parents, modern parents being unable to meet such expectations, and then society coping and seething that a sizeable chunk of kids are so horribly raised despite the fact THEY are the ones that put such pressure that gave them no choice but to let the ipad raise them begin with. They don't suck because they're lazy, they suck because society forced them to.

Come to think of it, ignoring the misogyny, it really did nothing to alleviate the impending enshittification of gaming. Let's see where Gamergate failed. It failed at addressing ethics in game journalism. I barely see gamergaters cover the ethics problem (which is sadly real) of game journalism. I can see a few ethical problems wtih game journalism like poor quality control (especially in research) in outlets such as IGN and Kotaku, publishers' skewing coverage of games, lack of experience in video games and rampant ragebait as seen with the now infamous teabagging article. It failed to attract meaningful allies. The rampant reactionary rhetoric and beliefs in the Gamergate movement has deprived them of meaningful potential allies who themselves share many of the same criticisms of late stage gaming such as the appalling state of game journalism, the rise of live service model and its disastrous consequences. This became especially dangerous when the corporations and their puppets accelerate the ruin of gaming while principled gamers waste their time pushing back against reaction in gaming. I have yet to see folks who do critiques of late stage gaming from a left-wing perspective other than Jim Sterling and myself to some extent* *the only video I had on the subject was one about Bethesda having a union and why it's a good thing.
