Maybe I should’ve said “midsize.”
My point is that they’re not a company with tens or hundreds of thousands of employees. And, as someone that usually likes to work at companies that are about size, you can run out of engineers pretty quickly if you’re not focused and or working on stuff that is wickedly complex. And Mozilla is definitely doing the latter.

The foundation is about 80 folks on payroll, although OSS projects have about 1000 contributors popping in and out.
There is also the “MZLA Technologies” subsidiary, which I think has some dedicated headcount under it as well. Although, there isn’t a lot of public info about that company.

Complicating things further, former President Donald Trump has demanded that the House pass the bill as is, and let the government shut down if they can't get it through.
This fucking guy again. Cause chaos, then run as the solution to the chaos.

270 active users isn’t much for a masto instance.
Given that Mozilla is a small company, and small company’s really can’t afford to lose focus for the major roadmap initiatives, I’m going to bet that this was someone’s hackathon project.

Global population is trending to slow down.
And these rates would put AMR related deaths in the ballpark of TB. Although, TB is also one of the leading causes of AMR infection.

“We want to operate like the world’s largest startup”
Yeah, that’s not how it works when you get over 1000 people. And it’s definitely not how it works when you get over a million people.
Startups work because the product is small and everyone can be consulted and looped in with ease. Massive companies need thoughtful processes and communication practices to work.
This is hard to do well, and any time someone says they’re going to work like a “large startup,” you’re putting yourself in company with a number of other stupid leaders who have received some dumb advice from 20 year olds at McKensey or Deloitte.

This man’s entire political career has been about stoking anger, division, and violence, then playing the victim when he faces any consequences for his actions.
Sadly, this stuff isn’t going to stop until the GOP keeping losing at the ballot box. We have to show up and vote the shit out of office.

IMHO, the most compelling reasons to install this are RCS support in Messages and the dark mode icons.
That said, I imagine 18.1 will be in public beta soon, and people will probably be more interested in that. That includes the newer Siri model, writing tools, notifications summaries, etc.

I was fine, but I’m also pretty diligent about my seasonal vaccines, and I think my body doesn’t even blink anymore. I haven’t missed a flu shot in decades and I have had every Pfizer covid shot.
That said, my wife felt kind of “meh” during next evening. Nothing as bad as when the shots were new and her immune system had to attack something brand new.

Thanks! So, from what I grok, the claim is basically that the games could probably run fine if they were written and optimized properly, but since they’re probably not, people have to buy a GPU that applies a bandaid solution. Right?

Adjusted for inflation, last years 15 was $827.
The base 16 is $800 and a separate USB C cable from Apple is about $20 for 1m and $30 for 2m.
So, if you buy a phone and cable, you’re spending about as much as you did last year, adjusting for inflation.
I don’t know why I just wasted all that time calculating that. I need to get a life.

The battery can be used to charge whatever you want. A phone, laptop, headphones, or anything else with USB. Also, the battery is user replaceable and the product repair diagrams are posted online.
IMHO, it looks like they’re practicing what they preach, and it’s all designed for longevity and right to repair.

As far as I’m aware, mods can only access banning functionality on user comments. If someone in a community keeps pestering mods with BS reports, but that user has not posted a comment in the community, is there a way to ban that person? I can’t seem to find anything in the UI to handle this use case.
