Yeah, the labor standards that existed in the pre 2000s are vastly different to how divided and diverse labor is today. There is a clear divide in labor between what one would see as "youth labor" not highschoolers but younger people working in non traditional labor settings (Starbucks, Whole Foods, Amazon, etc), these individuals are most commonly politically opposed to the usual political leanings of "older insular labor" these are the old unions filled with mainly male workers (commonly older and conservative) who have at best "traditional democratic" values and at worst are chuds in everything but name. The Teamsters, though they may have younger members, are a traditionally male and older worker union that sadly has a lot of trappings preserved from the 1960s-70s with no clear coherent understanding or unwillingness to understand historically what has been done to labor unions over the last four decades (or they just don't give a shit).

People forget that the majority owners of production/capital in American are out of touch, evil/angry, white men that do not do any form of introspection. Similar takes also occurred when shows like Teen Titans were attractive across more than just one gender but sadly that was bad because most cartoon production houses are owned by companies that think He-Man and the 1970s are still very much alive and kicking (i.e. we market to mono gendered audiences only no matter what the statistics and rating say).
Truly capitalism is the most rational system on this Earth!

Any good veggie focused sandwiches people have done? Looking for very little to no animal products. So far done well with combos of onion, cucumber, tomato, and hummus alongside cream cheese (tried both vegan and non vegan based cream cheese). Sun dried tomatoes and olive pate (blitzed olives with garlic, herbs and olive oil into a nice spread) as well as Armenian eggplant spread have also been freaking awesome additions to my pantry for veggie sammies. Anyone used seitan or other more heartier vegan protiens in sandwiches? Looking for something that isn't too crumbly or wet like tofu.

had a coherent ideology or at least reason, i.e. "my mother was exploited and died in poverty via a cult, I wish to destroy the leader of this cult and if not that then it's biggest enabler". He succeeded due to this very clear, very direct understanding of the target and goal as well as likely the inherent challenge of creating the doohicky due to the gun laws in Japan.

Ngl they have all been totally not "good guys" given them being neocon wonks and weird ass distorted chuds in their ideology. Contrast with who had a clear vision of why and who he wished to do an on that he was successful even in a country with strict gun laws.
Hot take is that these presidential assassin fail sons are a result of American chauvinism inherent in gun culture and the ease of access in guns leading to a over estimation in one's own skills in actually hitting a specific target.

Latest Pathfinder, though chunky rules wise given it's origin, has been doing a good job taking the 2nd place of best known RPG especially after the whole WoTC going after third party content creators and pissing all over the community. There's also a new boom in indie TTRPGs which is nice.

I think ambition evolved out of the protestant workaholic ethic in which productivity was king, then in the 20th century it was that productivity meant ambition and ambition meant wealth (at least momentary wealth for the working class that would soon be taken from them again by the capitalists).
i.e. why must Hollywood focus on the endless capitalistic mouse wheel propaganda?

Young Jake Black was good I just feel now in the era of continual media making and consumption he is now self insert "omg Jake Black!!!" instead of willing or being offered to actually play a character which is horrifyingly depressing. In fact Jake Black and Mamoa are examples of actors being reduced into their names the way capitalist media commonly reduces the arts down into the most easily consumable and marketable pieces like slop sold to readily hungry pigs

more or less Liaos creates a more benevolent kingdom in which he tries to integrate everyone together and is home to often abused species such as the Orcs and Kobolds in the after credits pages, also apparently magic/mana is more readily available in the atmosphere and the elves have no idea if this is a good or bad thing (I'd say good maybe as it allows more magic to the races but it isn't truly spelled out?)

Honestly looks kinda interesting and happy to see Disco Elysium inspiring more iso rpg styles outside of standard DnD CRPGs
Anyone that is iffy on cold soups and especially fruit and veggie combos needs to try a basic gazpacho. Half of a watermelon, 3-4 roma tomatoes (or any big and juicy varieties), half a medium red onion, a whole bell pepper, half a large cucumber (persian or english works great), minced garlic, black pepper and paprika to taste, either red wine vinegar or balsamic, a glug of olive oil, add salt to taste. For ease of blitzing do it in stages, watermelon and diced tomatoe into the blender first which yields a lot of liquid, then followed by chopped/diced veggies. Blitz until it's a nice smooth consistency. Chill this bad boy in the fridge then eat as needed (this is especially great for y'all trying to stay cool during the heat wave). You can also garnish with diced cucumber, tomato and some croutons for added texture.
Honestly will be pretty happy if this means Capcom is gonna revive the series, gotta say the new VA for Frank doesn't hit right though.
Like for real, gamers okay with aliens being Gods and Leonardo Da Vinci being an assassin but God forbid they make a historic Black dude in Japan being slightly cooler than he was
So I've never been a fan of the sickly sweet oatmeals and other western style breakfast cereals, especially those with lots of sugar, so I've started recently getting into savory oatmeals and other porridges. My favorite so far is using a base dashi stock, miso paste and chili oil alongside some chopped light vegetables such as kimchi and scallions (water spinach is also good when finely diced).
Pretty good Helldivers rap with some great lyrics, that'll likely fall on deaf gamers ears but ![sans-shrug](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/77294479-90a5-4542-a15e-f0efb3b05bf0.png "emoji sans-shrug")

Don't know how many peeps here have seen the latest season of True Detective called "Night Country", but so far I've really enjoyed it. However strolling over to lovely ![reddit-logo](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/4aac8007-876f-4c7f-936d-b7eabf506ef4.png "emoji reddit-logo") has a lot of blubbering manchildren upset about the new season which just so happens to have two female leads, focuses upon abuses of Native Alaskans and women in general (domestic abuse, murder, etc), and also has native empowerment over exploitation as a theme. Well I just watched the final episode and I fuckin' loved it, so here's kinda a short tldr of it marked as a spoiler as I encourage y'all to see the show first if you haven't (it's an anthology so really only Seasons 1, 3 and this one are worth it). ::: spoiler spoiler Alright so the season began with a murder/suicide of a bunch of research scientists digging up ice cores to find microbes for eternal life or whatever (they had been found naked dead on the ice), however while checking the crime scene a human tongue is found and connected with the murder of a Alaskan Native woman several years ago by the name of Annie K (a woman that protested the activities of the local mining corp that was poisoning the town leading to stillbirths and other horrible stuff). Annie was a central figure to the town's native population being one of the younger upcoming midwives and spiritualist (don't know the proper term). She had been found stabbed and dumped over by the mine and her murder buried by the police and local politicians in cooperation with the mine to avoid public backlash. Welp turns out she was murdered by the Tsalal scientists when she found out they were the ones responsible for the pollution in a bid to thaw the permafrost and ice to get to harder to reach ice core samples. This would later be found out by the local circle of Native Women who performed a lot of the menial labor in town (maids and so had access to a lot of areas such as the police station, the mining office and the Tsalal station), so in revenge the women staged a faked suicide on to the ice, forcing the men at gunpoint to strip and wander into a blizzard for the sins they committed (all the men were responsible for stabbing Annie K to death Agustus Ceasar style when she tried sneaking into Tsalal many years ago to find info on the pollution). Anyway the season ends with the current cop duo covering for the Native women and letting the murder go unsolved as well as resolving issues of mother hood and sisterhood (similar to how season 1 was about the lacking of fathers and brothers/comrades as a secondary theme). ::: So yeah gonna be a lot of ![wojak-nooo](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/44f42cb5-b644-4687-a9f4-14557f5c0582.png "emoji wojak-nooo") in response to the show being turned into "Woke Detective". Anyway it's a pretty good season and is worth a try even though it does drag sometimes (but is thankfully only 6 episodes something I think was wisely chosen by the show lead).
Honestly surprised it took so long for a mainstream attempt at a zoo horror game, setting is ripe with it as well as the possible themes. Zoochosis for instance is actually the mental breakdown and psychosis zoo animals can suffer under from long term confinement without proper enrichment at zoos.
So yeah title says it all, currently around 8 months into a new hospital position and I've been extending my feelers out and doing job apps and got back invites to the start of preliminary interviews for some other jobs (mainly cuss there is likely going to be no significant pay raises for all us new hires until 2 years out so fuck that). Bring this up to parents though and they have the weirdest attitude as though I'm betraying my company as well as shooting myself in the foot even though if I got some of these positions I'm interviewing for I'd see a huge pay bump and really good benefits (one of them is a state gig and has a damned good pension plan with only 5 years to be vested fully).

So like has there ever been any research or writing into these types of revenge films and what they represent for each culture or like why exactly there are so many of them? Cuss I always feel western revenge movies are some of the most unhinged slop meant for guys who believe they'd become a badass if only their family was murdered by a bunch of random gangsters/thugs/"bad guys".

Subversion is a game about people and communities eking out a better existence in this rapidly changing world. The drama centers around the actions of envoys, representatives of your community, each from one of seven fantastic species, with their own unique combination of abilities, determined to protect and advance their communities while remaining true to their own ideals. Subversion is about community, direct action, revolution, and hope for the future, even against a world rife with runaway technology, unchecked power, and dangerous secrets. Seems kind of interesting ngl...
