Why not both? Both is cool. Some people don't trust VPNs. Some people don't trust Tor.
Using both means if someone wants to get at you they likely have to compromise both.

I recently fucked a system because I wanted to resize the swap partition. Started throwing time after trying to recover. Realized that even if I succeeded, I'd have spent more time recovering than it would take to reestablish a new system, and no important data was on the system.

If you're ever in Copenhagen again, there are 24, 48 and 72 hour tickets that are a bit more expensive than figuring out the system but worth it for short visits.
Also, there's a variant that gives access to almost all museums and lots of other interesting places.

The Danish public transit infrastructure is a joke and there isn't any political will to improve it so it's just unreliable and extremely expensive.

Shortened my password, works now in Boost for Lemmy

Just had the same problem with Boost for Lemmy so I shortened it and it works now (at least in Lemmy)

There's this general problem:
My password was too long for Sync and Voyager and now also Boost; I've been using Jerboa since it worked in that client.
Since Boost also had the issue I changed my password to a shorter one.
The old one was something like
Friday-Ramble-Patriot-Apricot5-Tractor-Litigator-Shove-Antivirus
... and the new one is shorter and is causing no issues.

I'd use it but I can't log in. My password is probably too long as it's randomly generated by my password manager.
Fwiw can't login to sync either. It's all jerboa for me.

Compliance reasons. USB spec at the time didn't really allow for extension cables because it added an unknown amount of resistance.
The notch was a workaround; they were within spec for the intended device both with and without that cable.

[INTRO]
Tom Scott (with his characteristic enthusiasm): "Hello, lovely internet denizens! Today, we find ourselves in a comment thread, delightfully jesting about my propensity to dive into the oddest corners of knowledge. From the physics of shoelaces to the mysteries of quantum buttered toast, we've covered it all!"
[SMILE AND NOD]
Tom Scott: "Now, I can already predict a few of the replies that might pop up here. 'Tom, why not delve into the intricacies of a potato chip next?' Well, who knows, that might just be on the horizon! And yes, someone will undoubtedly ask about the physics of a cat's purr. It's been on the list for a while, folks!"
[CONFIDENT NOD]
Tom Scott: "But you know what they say, the quest for knowledge knows no bounds! So, let's keep the laughter rolling and the curiosity burning. What's next, you ask? Well, that's anyone's guess! Stay tuned, stay curious, and let's keep this adventure going!"
[OUTRO]
Tom Scott (looking bemusedly at his busily buzzing phone): "Well, it seems the replies are pouring in already! I might be here for a while trying to keep up with all your brilliant comments. But hey, that's the joy of it, isn't it? The learning never stops! Keep those questions and suggestions coming, and I'll do my best to tackle them in the videos to come."

I prefer iTerm2 on Mac because it supports ‘tmux -CC’ to transform windows into tabs.
I have two VPNs. One for privacy (e.g. general browsing) and one to reach my home NAS (e.g. to reach my selfhosted image backups). Is there a way to set the system up so that when I use applications X, Y and Z, it should use the privacy one, and if I use A, B or C, it should use the private one?
