I played Flatout 2 a lot and got the bundle on steam now, still pretty cool.

I think the date was not clear, there was some info that looked like it's a year old but also some seemed to be from last month. Given the campaign was fully playable I doubt it's actually a year old.
They still haven't released the specs, but a fully functional build was leaked a few weeks ago. Did anyone try to play it on the deck? I know it's unlikely but I still hope that the game will be playable.

What's the chapter labeled iron hands? I think I've seen the symbol before but I'm not sure.

I used to check his videos when I was painting my Imperial Assault minis some years ago. Loved his examples

Thanks for keeping us up to date! My token in the Jerboa app expired around that time I think and now I can't log into that app again with that account, it crashes after submitting my credentials. Other Lemmy instances work fine. Does anyone else has that problem?

Do you know which if these are fun in local multiplayer/Splitscreen? Played unravel 2 and It Takes Two with my wife and am looking for more.

I've been lucky, found a cheap one nearby and got it, I like the pad a lot! It'll take some time to get used to the low position of the abyx buttons and the lacking second joycon, but once I get it I'm set.
Didn't get it to work with Bluetooth yet, guess I have to update the controller firmware, but it's fine with cable.
I'm currently looking for another controller for the deck. Reddit [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/15a7ytn/what_controller_are_people_using_when_docked/)s and some articles usually mention Dualsense, Dualshock4, 8bitdo Ultimate and XBox controllers. I want one with a trackpad this time because I miss it for point and click games and the PS controllers seem to be fitting, but I'd prefer the buttons to have ABXY, in the XBox ordering. Are there controllers where the trackpad has feedback like the deck has? There are plenty offbrand controllers out there, are you using any of them and what's your experience with them? I got the BT 8bitdo ult, some cheap Switch controller and 2 old Xbox "The Duke" so far, for references.

They arrived today and it's just plug n play, pretty cool! Got some from "McBazel" but I'm sure there are several.

I just want to use the ones I have, but good to know!
I still have my original Xbox. I always liked the fat controllers, they're wired and plugged in with some xbox specific connector. I found some usb adapters online, has anyone tried to connect those to a steamdeck?

https://ragnaroek.cafe opened in my city (Kiel, Germany) last year. Been playing Magic over there a lot and a few of their games. Great experience so far and they have a great palette of games.

I just got the 64GB version and I plan to replace the SSD soon. I'll reinstall steamOS, and before that I need to figure out what's the best way to have encrypted data on it (e.g. credentials for communities etc) or even have Full Disk Encryption. Haven't settled my mind on this but generally it'd be good to have the whole deck secure so in case it gets stolen nobody can empty my wallet on the steam store.

Magic Arena and a lot of WH40K Space Marine. The latter works pretty good and I noticed the servers are still online! Played some good old exterminate yesterday.
Also Zacharia Pinball in-between.

Yes, especially with LOTR I think they fit the magic IP very well. I'm not looking for specific cards currently, but I won't exclude them.
I still hate the fact that TWD, WH40k and other UBs exist but when I played against them I realized it doesn't feel as awkward as I assumed. I'm fine with them

I somewhat reject the "play competitive" vs "play for fun" distinction. I'd call the later casual play or similar. I mostly play competitive, but for me, that's playing for fun. It's not a decision between fun and competitive.
As for the formats, I enjoy explorer a lot. In competitive formats, make sure to play BO3, as that's what they are balanced around.
Many people enjoy historic as well, but I dislike the Alchemy exclusive mechanics and also like that explorer is close to Pioneer paper.

The cheapest format that is somewhat widely played is Pauper. All cards that have been printed as common once are legal, most competitive decks are sub 100€/$. Casual even cheaper! I like it a lot, the card pool is deep and the meta somewhat balanced, except for affinity maybe.
