if you need a consent-or-pay example, just open La Repubblica's homepage. You will be prompted with the "accept all cookies or pay" prompt as soon as you open the site. Pretty standard practice for most Italian online newspapers, sadly

I had a similar experience with ketamine. I accidentally did a line that was a little too long and k-holed for the first time. During the trip I convinced myself I went insane and that I would have had to live the rest of my life inside the mind of an insane person, with no chance to ever experience the outside world again. Never touched ketamine that weekend again, but the following week I wanted to repeat the experience.

Ketamine is not a psychedelic but a khole can make you experience stuff that maybe only DMT can. Illusion of timelessness, lack of physical dimensions, absence of linearity in time and space, it's something I've only been able to experience during my first k-holes

It's not an easy job. You're constantly moving weights (the truck lifts the garbage bin, but moving a 120 lt bin full of garbage from its spot to the truck and back is not easy either). When your friends are done with their workday, it's time for you to go to bed. You have to work with bad weather, because trash bins must be emptied no matter what. I work in the IT of the company that does the garbage collection in my area. My colleagues are not very enthusiast of their job, lol. But it's a stable job, at least. Pay is decent, but I wouldn't call it good. In other countries though, people doing the same job are getting paid better than in Italy

You can decide to send sms codes only within your country. You decide whether the tradeoff between costs, privacy and features is worth it. Sending 150 sms a month (or a magnitude more) would cost me 0 €. I find some of the premium features worth paying for. But I would never relay OTP codes for telegram

It's mainly to offload the cost of sending verification codes via sms to users, which is one of the costs that Telegram wants to cut. As far as I remember, it amounts to, like, 7% of all their annual expenses (I will source this later). A couple of years ago they decided not to send sms verification codes when you sign in from a third-party app, and just send the code to active session. This sounds like recipe for moderation headaches and privacy disasters, but also good way to boost their premium metrics :)

I have to mention that I've downloaded the app from the website - premium costs more if you download the app from the store. In Italy, the pricing is 3.66 €/month if you pay monthly, or 2.24 €/month if you pay annually

I've been subscribed to premium for some time now. The things it would be difficult to give up are:

• voice messages transcription
• 4 gb files upload
• real-time translations
• ability to react to messages using custom emojis
• ability to react with up to 3 emojis to a message
• maybe, being able to create more than 10 folders

These features might seem some niche features you use once in a while, but I actually use them very very often

Premium is 2 €/month in my country, and considering how much I use Telegram (all my contacts and circles use it) and the features I mentioned above, I think it's worth it

Yes, that was fast, but this is partly because of the introduction of channel giveaways a few months ago: channel owners can gift premium subscriptions to their subscribers, which will be randomly selected by Telegram (you don't need to opt-in). The channel will then be awarded the giveaway winners' boosts, that will let it unlock some additional features

That means that after some months, the giveaways winners will have to decide whether to renew their premium subscription or not (which was gifted to them: they might not be as interested in Telegram's premium features as paid users that decided to subscribe on their own). The current number of subscribers might be a spike caused by the novelty of giveaways. It's unlikely that the trend of gifting premium subscriptions will continue to generate this much revenue, but we will see. For sure this is a very convenient moment to decide to release some numbers on premium subscriptions ;)

yes, https://www.telegram.org/apps lists both, but if you open web.telegram.org, you will be automatically redirected to one of the two apps without being given the choice. The differences are not listed because the two apps are supposed to offer more or less the same features, and anyway nobody's keeping track of them. As far as I know, also, the two developers are given great freedom in deciding which secondary features to implement (these webapps are not yet mature to actually replace the desktop client) so this makes keeping track of the differences a little more difficult.

You are basically not supposed to chose, choice is for those who are actively following the development of the two apps, apparently 🤷

Yes, they are two different apps actively developed by two different people (A source code, K source code). They are the two winners of a contest Telegram held a few years ago, but they haven't' decided which one will be the default/standard webapp yet, so you can use both. I think web.telegram.org still picks a random one for you the first time you access it

On any platform, you can use the lens icon to search for messages. Once you tap/click on it, an user silhouette 👤 icon will appear. It allows to filter messages from a specific user, yourself included

If by "channel" you mean "channel", then there's no way to know which of the posts in the channel were sent by yourself, since they all appear as they were sent by the channel

If you want to see a list of all messages you've sent across all chats, then there's no way to do that unless you script something using the users API

I am not a weed smoker even thought I smoke weed occasionally (a few hits once every couple of months I guess, only when it's offered, I've never had a joint alone at my place), but I've tried many different drugs and some of them I use more frequently than others.

I've always been interested in drugs and I've spent some time on Erowid even before trying them for the first time, and the one drug that I wanted to try more than any other was mdma because of all the great experiences I've read online, and also because I am a big fan of 90s electronic music, and some genres are historically linked to ecstasy usage.

When I've finally been able to try mdma at a techno party, unfortunately I dosed too much (I perfectly knew what was the recommended dosage, the crystals we used were tested and weighted - unfortunately I misunderstood what my friend told me about the dosage in the bag he gave me (two doses instead of one) and I don't remember the whole night. But I had a blast nonetheless, and this experience made me want to try to explore drugs. It's definitely the experience that showed me that the altered state that you experience while under the influence of these substances is worth exploring, especially if you're doing it with other people.

Finding drugs was not a problem at all at the time, because legal techno parties in big cities such as Milan were full of drugs. But I didn't fully trust what dealers were selling, and even when my friends brought their substances to the party I never wanted to try them because of the the place - it wasn't that easy to find a quiet spot with no people where to isolate, and I was a little paranoid. For some reason we never organized to try them before or after a party, probably because I've always felt shy being the only one that was trying a specific substance for the first time, even if there was nothing to be shy about and my friends were fully supportive. Anyway, I really started to use substances when I started to go to freeparties. They last 2-3 days, you can do drugs pretty much anywhere, you go there with your tents so you have your safe spot where to isolate or cooldown or do whatever you want. At parties I've been able to try many different drugs - ketamine, 2cb, speed, cocaine, dmt, some RCs - and for a long time, I limited my drugs usage to parties only. I kinda still do actually, but sometimes I bring home a gram of ketamine that I use alone, and I have quite some speed lying around that I've used before some social gatherings, but I still mostly use at parties.

Luckily when I entered the drugs world, I already knew the basics and the harm reduction guidelines about every substance I wanted to try. I think I've always been very responsible with them, and the fact that I am the "harm reduction" guy of my friends group (I always bring with me a full reagents test kit, saline solution, straws to cut, magnesium, NAC, all that kind of stuff) kind of pushed me to act as the responsible drugs nerd (even if I'm not a drugs nerd, and in my friends group there's definitely people who know more than me about psychoactive substances).

I have never tried LSD or shrooms because in so many years I've never felt comfortable with the environment/surroundings. With some friends we often discuss to organize together and go somewhere in the mountains and take LSD, but none of them is a big psychedelics fan so :(

I don't plan on quitting because I think my usage is not problematic, and I like doing drugs. The one drug that I would have a hard time quitting forever, btw, it's caffeine. I am not operational without it if I don't get a full 8 hours of sleep (eg. workdays). I try to limit coffees to <=2 per day, but sometimes I have more, even when I know I don't need them. It's not much at all, and the fact that I usually don't drink coffee during the weekend shows that I can live without it no problem, but I hate the fact that I need it so much to start to be productive, even after I bike to work. I will soon try to gradually phase it out using tea

Yes, it definitely is - but, from a recent controversy originated from a Delhi court ruling that Telegram must hand them the identity of some users administrating some piracy channels, we learned that "private user data" doesn't include the phone number linked to your account and the IP addresses of your active sessions - which is probably the data Iraq received from them. Citing a telegram's spokesperson response to a Tech Crunch's question on whether they shared private data:

“Telegram stores very limited or no data on its users. In most cases, we can’t even access any user data without specific entry points, and we believe this was the case here. Consequently, we can’t confirm that any private data has been shared in this instance,” Telegram spokesperson Remi Vaughn told TechCrunch. [link]

Their privacy policy still mentions this, btw:

8.3. Law Enforcement Authorities If Telegram receives a court order that confirms you're a terror suspect, we may disclose your IP address and phone number to the relevant authorities. ...which seems to be a lie considering how much evidence is piling up without being firmly dismissed by Telegram
