This community will be moving to lemmy.zip

!linuxquestions@lemmy.zip Hello all, As you might be aware, lemmy.world has gotten rather large. It is so large infact that when it goes down it takes a large portion of content with it. I don't know about you but I personally don't like the idea of all lemmy activity happening on one instance. Because of this I have made the decision to move this community to a place that is smaller.

You should be able to list all subvolumes with sudo btrfs subvolume list /. From their you can use the btrfs snapshot command to take a snapshot. sudo btrfs subvolume snapshot / test

Free software is moving to lemmy.zip

!freesoftware@lemmy.zip As you might be aware, lemmy.world has gotten absolutely massive. I know some see that as a benefit but for me it feels very dangerous. If something were to happen to lemmy.world it could potentially destroy lemmy/kbin. Therefore I am moving this community to lemmy.zip.

Why are you running pipewire? I though that mint didn't ship with it by default?

    Anyway try this:

    • Type 'about:config' in the address bar, accept warning and press Enter.
    • Disable speech-dispatcher in reader-mode (show only text of an html document) because it injects a nasty noise: Find 'media.webspeech.synth.enabled' and set it to 'false.'

I'm not looking for usable speeds. I just want to have a stable connection that can download a movie overnight

To do more troubleshooting I need you computer specs.

how to boost performance when running jellyfin over i2p

I'm trying to access jellyfin remotely over i2p and I want to get the best performance. Right now I'm having trouble with keeping a stable connection. My connection doesn't need to be fast but it keeps dropping in and out for some reason.

Uh, yes? I welcome anyone who wants a community of forms.

If you are unhappy with the growing Lemmy userbase you can always setup a instance that doesn't federate

I'm mostly referring to the "smart" features. Modern EVs are a not designed to be taken apart and understood

Do you guys use podman or docker?

On my Fedora labtop I use podman because its faster but for my homelab I use docker with docker compose because it is easier to administer

The two issues I have with current EVs is you can't work on them and they don't last as long as gas vehicles.

I have a old suburu and it still runs fine

I assume its a target for bots because its a lie hanging fruit.

Also it's harder to find bots down the road

How do you guys feel about pulseway?

I am setting up a new RMM solution and my first thought was to create a VPN with active directory. It turned out to be harder than I expected so I'm looking for cost effective solutions. The company I work for used to use pulseway but everyone who set it up either left or is deceased. It seems to be priced right and it seems to have all the features I need. If anything its overkill. Has anyone here ever used it? I'm a bit scared of supply chain attacks but I think I can get over my fear with convenience and price.

    Posting slowness issue seems solved!

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/288652 > Thanks to a comment by [@LargeHardonCollider@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/u/LargeHardonCollider) , I checked and saw that 'Federation debugging' mode was enabled. I had enabled that when the server just started (less than 3 weeks ago) and I had an issue with federation. > > I thought I had switched that off again, but apparently not. This mode causes the federation to be done in the foreground, so your 'Post' or 'Comment' action will wait for that to finish... > > This solves the most annoying issue, and makes the site way more useable. There are many other issues, but we'll get there.

How to a move nextcloud from lxc to docker?

I'm looking to convert my data from nextcloud turnkey lxc container to a standard docker docker container. What's the best way to go about this? Edit: I just exported my data manually and then reimported. It was almost pain free if I hadn't tried to upgrade from 25 to 27
