I've been so busy getting my classroom ready that I haven't even opened Lemmy the last two weeks. The students' first day was last Thursday, which is a week earlier than it's ever been.
Country: USA Years Teaching: 5 (full-time tutor and sub for a couple years before) Grades: 5th Subject: Science and health currently, but I previously taught English language arts. I loved teaching reading but not so much writing. I don't want to go back from science.
What are your thoughts about "Main Event" Jey Uso? I'm sold on the guy and wouldn't be mad if he were the one to dethrone Roman... but I don't think it's super likely.
"The Rick" has been battling cancer for a while now and apparently passed away a few days ago. I remember reading the original version of Online Onslaught on WrestleLine when I was in high school to keep up with the dirt sheets. Thanks for the reply! I and my wife are two of those thousands who were helped by that subreddit over the years. I would love to help build a similar space here for those of us who have left Reddit completely behind. My intention was not to stage a coup or hostile takeover -- I just wanted to see it turn into an active and positive community.

He passed away in his sleep at only 55 years old. He was also known as Tank as part of the Truth Commission and Bruiser Mastino in ECW. Watching back some of his matches, it is clear he was pretty good and deserved better than the stupid Mantaur gimmick.

Except posting here is what admin has asked us to do in previous situations. PMing was literally discouraged. I did end up sending an email.
Edit: Sorry, I realize he directed people in that specific situation to !moderators@lemmy.world, but there have been multiple times in extremely similar situations over the past week when users have been told to post here. Both are modded by the lemmy.world admins, and I would think either is appropriate.

I don't have a big reason. I signed up for a secondary account on a tiny instance when lemmy.world was having trouble. I like the more close-knit feel, but I was also already kind of established here. So I just have both now.

You're good. I think a few are misunderstanding my intentions. I do have an alt on a much smaller instance, and I know how all of that works. But lemmy.world is my primary instance, and in the interest of this specific server, squatters and inactive communities aren't a good thing. Admins here have already asked that they be reported so they can be removed.

Yes, you are technically correct that a community with the same name could be made on another instance. But this is the Lemmy.world Support community. As the largest Lemmy instance at the moment, why would they want their server full of inactive communities modded by squatters? It's also my primary instance, so why would I want to create another account elsewhere just to make that community?

That's why I posted here. I didn't want to overstep by sending PMs.
There are a few regional ones that I'm sure some would love to see thriving, but I'd personally like to see an active SexOver30 community for those of us who are not spring chickens anymore. I know others have been removed for similar behavior.

I'd like to see c/sexover30 active and would take it over to see that happen.
This is definitely worth the watch.
Weird that they haven't announced MJF/Cole's opponents or shown an actual bracket. Kenny vs. Yuta should be good!

Dave said the abrupt turn by Shayna Baszler at MITB was always the plan and was something Ronda specifically wanted, but it was delayed because of Ronda's injury. Now the story has to be rushed because Ronda also gave them a "hard out" for when she will be done.
This is a couple years old but felt appropriate to post this weekend. Rest in peace, Droz. I wonder where his career (and D'Lo's) would have gone had the accident not happened.

How long have you been a wrestling fan and what got you hooked? I always watched the WWF as a kid in the late 80s but really got hooked by about 1994 when I was 10 or 11. I remember renting the Coliseum videos all the time. I must have rented WrestleMania IV at least 20 times. I was always a big Macho Man fan. The Monday night war, nWo, and Attitude era were all during my teenage years, and hooked me even further.
