Probably a lot. I was very annoyed myself, though it made android pretty similar to the situation on iOS where you can't replace the default messaging app anyway.
It's an area where I think we need a bunch of stuff:
- Antitrust regulation to force companies to use open standards and allow customization
- Folks like the Signal Foundation should get over themselves and run their project like a real open source project, where others can fork/modify/run both the server side and client side.
There's so much anti-competitive bullshit regarding #1 from all sides, from carriers to Apple to Google to device manufacturers.

I think fewer people are actually using SMS than you'd think though - it's been quietly replaced with RCS.

They had a good blog post about why - their take was that SMS is dying and the replacement was a moving target that was hard to support for reasons I'm forgetting. I agree it hurt them tremendously though.

"Then he must be a noble beast indeed," said Aragorn; "and it grieves me more than many tidings that might seem worse to learn that Sauron levies such tribute. It was not so when last I was in that land."
"Nor is it now, I will swear," said Boromir. "It is a lie that comes from the Enemy. I know the Horse Freaks of Rohan; true and valiant, our allies, dwelling still in the lands that we gave them long ago."

They want you to access everything through search and recently accessed because its so intuitive. It's like they want computers to be as hard to use as possible for people who need to do actual work on many projects in any sort of organized way.
Also, now that IT has integrated everything with OneDrive, I routinely have to wait for my own files to be redownloaded before accessing them.

It should have been phrased "An appropriate version of an auto-sear can turn almost any semi-automatic handgun into a fully automatic weapon."
Not sure it changes the article's point though if they're available and being adopted for popular handgun models. They're very simple (if precisely machined) parts.

I see -- arch just seemed like a huge management pain to get all of my different software stacks working and playing nicely together when I last played with it. It's also pretty easy to switch desktop environments regardless of your distro, but I don't mind gnome (plus gnome-tweaks).

Yep. Brands which come to mind are Trojan Horse and Hometown Hero, but there are a ton now competing in that space. It has to be derived from plants that meet the hemp criteria, and can't exceed the concentration limits by weight during processing, but that works fine for edibles.

FYI many edibles are legal nationwide thanks to the 2018 farm bill.

I've had three different G603's replaced for free because the scroll wheel starts behaving erratically after a while. No hassle though, and the latest one has lasted long enough that they seem to have (hopefully) fixed the issue. I've also had good luck with their mechanical keyboards.
I don't have anything nice to say about the state of their webcams though, especially in price/performance.

At about the same rates, in fact. And yet, arrests are way higher for black people (in Iowa it's like 8 times higher).
The war on drugs is also a good tool to oppress poor white people, but the data on this one are really stark. Prohibition is a major tool of racial oppression in the US.

Buildings are still SUPER expensive, both up front and in an ongoing way. Personally I think it's a bit misguided to promote vertical farms when we are currently wasting so much space to create e.g. parking lots, or to grow corn to burn in cars.
Tall buildings are good for housing people though.

From what I understand vertical farming really only works out economically for high value crops. Using artificial light instead of the sun takes a lot of energy, and tall buildings are expensive and require maintenance. Algae tanks would also be SUPER heavy, which is a whole other problem.
