At risk of sounding like I’m advertising, I replaced my OtterBox with a Dbrand case a few months ago and I’ve been incredibly happy with it. I feel like it’s done just as well with my drops and it’s much thinner and lighter.

Weirdly, I saw a video online about how people have been looking at videos JKR has been making and the weird coincidence that black mold has allegedly been seen in her backgrounds, given the symptoms of black mold in a person and how the appearance of it lines up with when she started spouting these “opinions.”

I definitely fall into the category of what you’re saying about people being tired of the status quo, but there’s nothing she could say or do that would get me to vote. She’s just more of the establishment, so she’ll say the right things and then nothing will change. The democrat establishment is the issue and until that changes, nothing will.

How did you manage to make Spotify not a steaming pile of garbage?
militant_spider 4 months ago • 100%
Unfortunately, Spotify has it set where there doesn’t appear to be a limitation on how many people can listen at once, whereas Libby still only has so many copies to share.

I have an account for, eventually, marketing. It’s still widely used and so if I want my venture to be successful, I’d be foolish to avoid a place to be found, even if I find the owner to be distasteful at bare minimum.

Last time I tried to use wired headphones for work, the connection snapped off in the port. I’m definitely good to stay away from wired headphones for everything other than my computer.

I can get 2-3 days of use out of my wireless before they absolutely need to be charged. They’re not the best sound quality out there, but they have the features I need for my situation.

The entirety of the modern Christian faith is that god said one thing to one group and then changed it. This is not to get into the debate of authenticity or logic of religion or anything like that, it’s simply how it’s always been. God said only the Jews get to be my people. Then it was everyone who believes. God said no unclean meats. The he said the meats were fine. It’s the nature of the Christian faith. If you include the Mormons, there’s more changes, but I don’t know them.
Within the faith, it’s accepted as basically a change in the promises god made to humanity. And if we look at it giving them some leeway, why can’t he change it again?

Do you have an example of any historical society where work or die wasn’t an imperative? My understanding of history is that life has always fallen under that rule, regardless of economical/government system. Mutual aid and charity are, in my opinion, not only are not evidence against the concept, but are the exception that proves the rule, as they say. Because those individuals are unable to work to provide for themselves, for whatever reason, it requires others to care for them so they don’t die.
I don’t believe we disagree on what the ideal of life should be for the working class. I think our differences lie in what is realistic to expect out of life, whether short or long term.
militant_spider 12 months ago • 50%
That’s inherently not a compromise. That’s simply giving the union what they’re asking for, which we know is not how it’s going to happen, regardless of what may be ideal.
The defining principle of human history has been work or die, and I don’t see that changing ever. The best we can reasonably hope for is better conditions in which to deal with that truth.

I’m viewing it from the standpoint of one side getting the number of days working they want and the other side getting the hours they want.

Obviously the 32 hour week would be ideal, but I wonder how a compromise on a 4-day 40 hour week would be received. I know my life has improved drastically since my job went to that format

An intern read it, after which they found the form letter written by the staffer who handles those issues and used that to reply to you. The communication will never reach the staffer, let alone the congressperson. If you’re lucky, the office won’t have an intern and the administrative assistant will be the one to do the above.

I’d put the National Electrical Code out there. It doesn’t tell you how to do everything with electricity, like generating it, but it does give a lot of details of how to wire things safely.

I sleep in the bed, which is around 6 ft long, more than enough for me to have room. I don’t fit into the SUV, so the truck is the only option if I want to stay dry.

The truck is where I sleep. No tent, no camper. Just the truck. I can camp anywhere I want with the same level of comfortability.

I actually sleep in the bed of the truck. I take neither tent nor camper. It gives me many more camping options than either of the other options.
militant_spider 1 year ago • 100%
The back of the truck is where I sleep. I’ve never had a tent that didn’t leak, and the truck doesn’t leak at all. Less to set up and tear down and if I can park somewhere, I can camp there.

People who drive pickups are just easy to demonize. I need one for work and it is also how I go camping. There’s no way I could fit my work tools into even an SUV easily, let alone go camping in one. I think most people just like to assume anyone with a pickup uses it as a status symbol rather than thinking about the people who have good reason to own one.

I’d love to be able to give her the benefit of the doubt like that, but I didn’t just come out, it’s that I’m just now starting to have the tiniest amount of confidence to consider presenting as such.
I’d never felt confident enough to really do anything in the direction of dressing outside my AGAB, but her and I talked the other night and she was encouraging and supportive. She even said I should get some clothes to wear to a music festival we’re going to. I started to look and showed her some things I was thinking, which was nothing crazy, but clearly feminine, and that’s where she said she couldn’t live this way.
I’d love to be able to talk to a therapist, either alone or together, but no one near me takes my insurance.

She’s actually exclusively attracted to my AGAB, at least in me. So moving away from that is actually the root of the problem.
militant_spider 1 year ago • 100%
She’s definitely a lot better than that. In no way is she the type to try to vulture anything away from me. There is very much intent to figure things out, but like I said in my other reply, I just need a minute to get past the hurt of her being supportive then suddenly not.
militant_spider 1 year ago • 100%
Yeah, once the initial pain of her being supportive then suddenly not wears off.
I just found out from my wife that if I continue to explore my non-binary identity outside of the confines of our house, she’s going to end up leaving me. Talk about a lose-lose scenario, fuck me. I really don’t want to hear the “you’re better off without her if she can’t be accepting” line of thinking. I get where you’d be going with that, but there’s a lot more going on beyond this wherein I need her.
