You don't get high quality mp3s from that.

I'm not advocating piracy as a way to support artists, but a way to fight against the big corps/streaming platforms/the system that just take the majority of revenue for themselves while hurting both the consumers and the creators. As I replied to other comments, I try to look for ways to directly support artists individually whenever I can.

The first time I heard this song
https://soundcloud.com/blacklabelnsd/mastadon-rip (MASTADON - RIP)
I was blown away at how insane it is, like how could anyone ever make something like this at all is bewildering to me. The song structure and sounds didn't even make sense to me at first.
But now this genre of music is the thing I love the most. This song is my absolute favorite of all time.

The thing is, you barely support the artists you're listening to when you use spotify.

Okay, my bad I guess... Music piracy isn't DEAD, but it's not as strong as it used to be, hence the post.

I do when I can afford to, but you can't really buy every song you listen to, can you?
chuuqovn 1 year ago • 100%
I buy music on bandcamp/directly from artists all the time. I just dislike streaming services, as I always want to have the files, and the money artists get from them is abbyssmal anyway.

Just tryna make a general post to remind people to participate in the music piracy scene. Seen a few posts asking about where to find music.

I encourage everyone to download and install SoulseekQT/Nicotine+/Seeker-Android and share whatever kind of music you have for everybody to download. Let's bring back music piracy!

I recommend the Nicotine+ client for soulseek. It's pretty straight-foward. You get the app, create an account, then start looking for songs. If someone has what you want and had put it up for sharing then you can just download it directly from them. If you have a collection yourself, I encourage you to share it too, just like I do. Fuck traders and scammers.
of all kind from dubstep, drum & bass to house, trance and wave, you can look me up. My user name is ChuuqoVN. 320 mps only tho, keeping lossless is a hassle. Also I can't set up port forwarding at my place cause I'm a tenant so if you can't reach me then RIP I guess.

I have people download my files on soulseek/nicotine+ daily. Plus anyone that would pirate music probably already know how to rip it straight from streaming services.
