I will never understand people who think this movie isn't funny - endlessly quotable:
"That's a lot of nuts!" "You should be able to beat him now!" "Beware his song about big butts, he beats you up while he plays it!"
I could go on. In a just world he would have gotten to make more films, and not just thumb parody movies.

Yeah - I don't want to be too dismissive. I've read interviews with him, and despite his success, he hasn't measurably changed his lifestyle or fallen into the traps a big influx of money can cause. It honestly reminds me of No Man's Sky (minus the redempetion arc) where enough money was made from the base product that it funds ongoing development for the forseeable future.

I mean this is great, props... But didn't he already make his nut with this game?? I mean I can play it on my fucking Tesla, I assume he got paid.

You sure?? This Embracer Group seems like some smart young men, and they make a compelling offer. Can I at least sell them a beloved fantasy classic?? As a treat?

No, any business major could tell you they release the game, then lay everyone off and sell the IP for parts!

And it was written that no hand but his should wield the Sword held in the Stone, but he did draw it out, like fire in his hand, and his glory did burn the world. Thus did it begin. Thus do we sing his Rebirth. Thus do we sing the beginning.

Back in 2000 I had no idea they were basically just speed running 10 years of OG Gundam stories. I also didn't know that the things the characters said didn't make any sense, I just assumed I was too dumb to get it.
The second half especially is a complete mess, but the power of nostalgia makes it a beautiful mess.

I damned those bugs myself with a combo of napalm, flamethrower, and incendiary breaker.
But in all seriousness there are some huge bugs that can ruin a run you spent almost 40 minutes on... So I also bring a 500kg to deal with those.

My dream scenario is having the map almost cleared, and then BAM there's a sneak attack on Super Earth. We're all suddenly fighting on a new tileset and have to push back from the center of the map.

Whether or not the game needs this anti-cheat feature, players are still finding ways to give other players huge amounts of Samples (a grindable resource with limited amounts included in each mission) and spawn in unreleased equipment and stratagems.
So clearly the GameGuard isn't as useful as it could be.

Absolutely, I tend to do my best to skirt engagements and pick off targets before getting in close. Being able to hammer hard targets every 10 seconds or so is great; especially when backing up a group, it's great fire support.

As someone who bought a new Tesla in February, this is very much true - I'm certainly never going to pay 18-goddamn-thousand dollars for it. I just did my first road trip in the new car and wasn't inclined to spend $200 to try it out. Traffic-Aware Cruise Control was more than suitable.
When they wanted $5k for it, I could imagine the value proposition (though I'd never spend that much), but the current price point is outrageous.

I wish I weren't such a basic removed with the Breaker, but the way it can blow brood commander's legs clean off and dig through a warrior's armor is just too good. Plus, I'm generally on recoilless duty and can usually solo a Charger with a rocket into a front leg followed by a breaker clip into the exposed flesh.

BG3 was in development for 6 years, had a huge budget, and a development studio with experience making RPGs.
You can't expect a small, indie studio to match that when they've only had... Jesus 9 YEARS?!?!

Oh yeah, making it an FPS was a weird choice. But that wasn't a dig at the 1999 game, but at Red Eagle Entertainment, the group that announced and never made several video games over the years. Also responsible for the lousy attempt at adapting WoT as comics (which took 5 years to release 8 comics)... oh, AND the Winter Dragon TV pilot.
Never mind, my comment was almost entirely aimed at Red Eagle.

The Wheel of Time and licensing their IP rights to hack-frauds, name a more iconic duo.

It's also been great to see new affordable entry-level equipment become available. I had a friend finally get an espresso machine a few months ago, and I was able to point him to the Fellow Opus, which is only $195 ( and was on sale for $150).
To your point on "When to invest?" - there are certainly things this grinder could do better, but he has yet to hit a real problem in his coffee making. So sure, an $800 grinder might have fewer fines or more micro-adjustments, but that's not really offering any value to him at the moment.

I'd recommend Killing Mr. Kringle.
It's a very silly one shot, and it takes 0 prep. It's a super-streamlined Forged in the Dark game where you're mischievous little scamps instead of scoundrels.

I've been pulling out my Aeropress more because my roaster keeps sending me tart, juicy roasts that do not work in milk drinks. I normally make espresso and a latte for my wife, but if I get something like this that I cannot make palatable for milk for the life of me, I'll just brew it with the Aeropress. Otherwise, I'm stuck trying to have two espresso grinds dialed in.

They were actually pretty small when they made Battletech. I know they pretty much pushed Unity to its limits at the time. Also, some of the design team that made Battletech so great left the company afterward.
It's pretty disappointing that Lamplighters' League doesn't give me the ability to blow parts off my enemies to build my own new troops so they can go out and blow up more enemies.

Free RPG Day is Tomorrow, Sat 6/24 Do any of these titles look particularly interesting? Do you know of any other titles that aren't listed here? I'm always looking for fun one-offs to play.
My current campaign is set on the planet of Caradu. A formerly metropolitan world devastated by the Clone Wars. We're playing in the direct aftermath of the war's end. I can always use more interesting NPCs, give me a name, look, or even a short description of their motivation and I will put them in the game! (Assuming they're not a dumb joke🤣) Example NPC: **Gardner Prospas** - An older human man, with graying auburn hair, a thick close-trimmed beard, and an easy smile. He is compassionate, and jovial. Prospas travels Caradu by wagon sharing his rare herbs and saplings.
