This is fascinating
My biggest takeaway from reading through the GitHub comments though is that it seems like no one actually knows where much of the SQL comes from? As in it's possible that the bug in question is just one manifestation of old, handwritten Postres code that may or may not be optimized (Or even logical?).
I don't mean this in a critical way, as things like this are bound to happen in an open-source, federated world. However, I would think a comprehensive audit of the Lemmy Postgres triggers, queries, etc could potentially save us all from some future headaches.

I have my account marked to not show NSFW content, but I still saw your post earlier (The one about Andorian people right?). I don't think it was marked as NSFW?
Either way, I thought it was funny. For whatever that's worth.

Will those added to the Jedi Council be granted the rank of master?
Also, is there a way to directly upload a video file to Lemmy? I didn't see one.

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
"They do so by breaking the law in multiple countries and further contributing to a system where creators don't get paid!"
So I keep seeing articles like this where people are saying MI:7 is her breakout role. And maybe it is? I admittedly haven't seen the movie yet. But my question is: Am I missing something? Did the world seriously not know about her or her talent? I would have thought all the work she did as Peggy Carter would have been what put her on the map. She's also in an episode of black mirror. Idk. Is there more to this than I realize?

I was pretty into Pokemon Go a while back and at least for me, the game was much better/worse depending on how densely populated of an area you lived in. Urban > Rural. I'm not sure if MHN will be like this too. But if it is, you'll enjoy the game more in a city-like area.

I suppose it's possible that it was trained on articles and such that quote/summarize the book. But what you're saying makes sense.

How can they prove this though? I don't think they'd have any way to. Unless OpenAI straight up admits it. But like the article mentions, the data could still have been obtained legally.

I used to own a Wii U back in the day and for a variety of reasons there was a drought of good games to play on it. A YouTube channel I followed at the time had this same issue but in terms of content to create. So they started playing MH3U. I had never heard of monster hunter before and was intrigued, so I bought the game. 1000 hours later I had a new favorite franchise. Lol.
From there, I naturally played 4U, Gen, GU, and Rise on release. I've never played World because I've only recently bought a system that could run it (Xbox). Currently in the middle of Sunbreak and depending on when I "finish" and when MH6 comes out, I might try to squeeze in World because I'd love to play it.

Moving more processes to be asynchronous make sense. As that's also how Reddit's backend works.
Sort of an unrelated question, but are Lemmy instances specifically designed to work on top of Postgres? Or could they technically use "any" database?

Interesting. I'm really surprised they would publicly say that they don't expect it to make money. But then again, maybe it's ultimately for helping MH6 sell eventually.
