I have two currently. I love painting miniatures, I work from home and will do it during my working day when I need a break.
My other fixation is a friend of mine who came back into my life recently. She's amazing and knows what's happening. I have a partner who is also amazing and understanding.
Hello. I have a post I made to a group on lemmy.world that doesn't seem to be federating. The group is !aphantasia@lemmy.world. The post can be found here https://lemmy.nz/post/322993 and the same one here https://lemmy.world/post/108808?scrollToComments=true

The funniest bit was after I'd done an online autism screening test, I sent the results to my wife saying I think I may have autism. She responded saying she's known for a long time.

I found I had aphantasia as a flow-on from something else I was investigating.
I have known for a long time that I had trouble watching movies because I lose track of who the characters are. My wife started watching Married at first sight and I got really confused with it. 3 of the ladies had the same shaped face, hair style and colour and I could not tell them apart at all. I searched on Google to find out why and found about Prosopagnosia.
Reading about this it mentioned it was common with aphantasia. I kept reading and it sounded more and more like fiction. This idea that people could see images, make sounds, imagine touch and actually feel it all. I asked my wife if it made sense to her, and she just looked at me like I was mad.
Doing more reading since, I've discovered I have SDAM as well as autism. Sometimes life would be amazing if we got an instruction manual for our minds.

It's different to that, I experience emotions and can express them in real time. However, after if I think back to a memory the emotion is there but like a line written in a book. 'I was having fun and happy...', but thinking about that memory will not give me a happy feeling. Talking with my wife she can re-experience the emotion when she recalls a memory.
My memories are like lines of knowledge in a book, everything is a fact and stored as such. It makes me amazing at remembering knowledge, facts and how to do things.
I know lots of stories about my kids as they're growing up, and yet I cannot recall/remember what they looked like as little kids. I do recognise them most of the time in photos.

I have no minds eye at all. There are no voices in my head aside from mine that I can control, no pictures, feelings or other senses.
I pick at my fingers as well, generally when I'm tired or stressed.

I'm not understanding your concern. If there's a powertripping moderator that's causing trouble there are options. The group can split and migrate elsewhere, just like the reddit migrants have who came here.
The fediverse is much harder to consolidate tightly. There are 5 New Zealand communities for example spread across the fediverse currently. One is large and the rest are tiny. If the mod/admin for the large one started being a dick the users would move elsewhere after a lot of whining. This was not as easy on reddit because there could only be one /r/newzealand. Currently there is newzealand@lemmy.nz, newzealand@lemmy.ml, newzealand@feddit.nz, nz@kbin.social, New Zealand@kbin.social.
If there was a powertripping moderator on a large group like technology@beehaw.org the site admins can remove that mod if it was causing trouble for the overall site.

What's the problem with this?
If they can moderate that many groups to the standard each community is happy with is it an issue?

There are two subs I've seen where the mods we're contacted by the reddit admins and told to reopen or be replaced.

Email has the same problems as federated lemmy servers.
Mail Servers can end up on distrubuted blacklists and unable to communicate with each other. When office 365 has an outage it causes huge problems because it's a single large provider having issues. That provider goes down but not email as a whole.
This is the same as what happened about a week ago when lemmy.ml and lemmy.world went down due to load.
This was written by me. Please help it get some traction.

The are so many bad actors in superstonk and other gme subs they do not want anyone to move or splinter off.
Keep making noise in there and people will start moving over.

The greatest tool we added at work was Apache Guacamole.
We have it integrated with salesforce and our monitoring software for easy access to servers when it's needed.

I'm finding I like Lemmy so much more than reddit. The people here are nice. Reddit was rehashed jokes and bitter idiots that'd jump on any tiny issue for the sake of it.

Lemmy is opensource, you can see and get a copy of the source code here. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy There's no development cost because all developers are volunteers at this stage.
For each instance that depends on the admins running that individual instance. The instance I use is being sponsored by a NZ company that are providing the admin's a free virtual server to host on.

Lemmy is less private than reddit. With reddit your comments exist on one server, with lemmy by design for they are spread across different servers in the fediverse and can remain if you delete the original.
Think of it like email, there's no way to recall the email once it's sent and same with your actions on lemmy.

We all have to work together so there's an opensource option. This can be as simple as using the software and posting or commenting.
The great thing is this is our space and does not belong to a business.
