Strictly for commuting, rechargeable, nothing fancy. Doesn't need insane runtimes, just something reasonable for commuting that I can afford to buy and give several of them away. :)

Hahaha it was a container holding new litter whuch was literally just clay pellets.
I want to give away some bike lights. Does anybody have recommendations on some low cost bike lights?

I'm seeing many ponchos with hand loops and a waist strap so it doesn't fly up. AFAIK, they are more breathable.
SoySaucePrinterInk 2 months ago • 100%
Do you have a link? I'm only seeing regular ponchos, nothing bike-specific.
Edit: found it https://www.decathlon.ca/en/p/8759248/city-cycling-rain-poncho-100-black
I would like to ride more in the rain. What are some of this community's preferences around rain ponchos?

I like them for road biking but would prefer a mechanical pump for a commuter bike due to reliability and being able to change infinite flats.

I carry a spare tube, so I need a way to inflate it.
I have had rides ruined because of a friend not carrying a spare tube or a way to inflate it.
SoySaucePrinterInk 2 months ago • 100%
This sounds handy, however I'm prioritizing reliability which is hard to beat with a mechanical pump.

I'm glad he's alright!
Does anyone have any recommendations for tiny bike pumps to keep on my commuter? Durability is preferred, but I don't want to break the bank if it gets stolen.
If this type of post isn't allowed, I can take it down. I am not affiliated with LiTime but I like their batteries since seeing Will Prowse's teardowns of them. They have some smaller battery options for DIY projects.

I plan to snack on them, but a search online showed them served sauteed with egg on toast. I imagine that avocado would work as well. Not sure how common it is in France though.

I repotted my sugar snap peas into a larger upcycled kitty litter container that I found in a dumpster. There was plenty of space, so I added radishes that only take 23 days to mature to maximize my use of space. What are your favourite companion plants?
I have had earwigs eating my balcony garden crops, so I decided to try a solution I found online: add 50/50 soy sauce and oil to a container and leave it overnight. It was filled with earwigs the next morning! So I am setting up another trap with an empty tofu dessert container. That being said, earwigs aren't universally bad. They help decompose plant material in a compost pile. However on my balcony, they were doing more harm than good. The ladybugs can stay :P

Shed. It's for a small lighting setup for when I use it up to a couple minutes at a time.
I'm looking for a small setup that allows the panel to be removed without removing screws from the roof and exposing holes.

I went from flowers on the same plant. Admittedly, I know nothing about pollination.
Alt: Photo of young green cherry tomatoes on a tomato plant on a balcony. The photo mostly shows green tomato plant foliage. There are some yellow tomato flowers in the top left corner of the frame.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed they germinated quickly with most seeds sprouting whuch was a pleasant surprise.
I had filled a pot with seedlings, so the nursery pots I found at the side of the road came in handy today. I split them into their own pots which I will give away to friends and family once they grow larger. My goal is to grow marigolds from seed for the first time to enjoy their summer blooms and repel pests from my veggies.
My goal is to keep hot/cool air from seeping between floors. Is canned spray foam the way to go? Any recommendations? Pest resistance is a bonus.

I've been seeing improvements with powdered bar keepers friend but it takes several passes and still comes back unfortunately.

A common way to wash many dishes is a tub of soapy water to clean off food, a tub of diluted bleach water to disinfect, and a tub of water to rinse the dishes. It's used by wilderness guides around the world.

Where do you find citric acid? I've been using white vinegar in a jar in my dishwasher which gets rid of all water spots and cleans better with my hard water. However, I'd like to find a place to purchase citric acid crystals without relying on Amazon.

I've tried scrubbing it several times with bar keepers friend soft cleanser and although it improves, it never goes away completely and it always comes back. ![close up picture of bathtub floor discolouration](https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/d64d23d8-2e04-49e4-8fb2-8bfc32bba92f.jpeg)

Thank you! I would have preferred extra firm if I had it on hand for the texture because the firm took longer to get the water out and was still much softer than EF. But it was still delicious and I enjoyed it.

Great points! I learned a few things.
Power cables should not be coiled unless you want induction loops, lower efficiency, and waste heat.
Ideally, the cables would be the minimum length needed as I understand it. For excess cables though, is there a better solution to organize it to avoid coiling?

I agree, which is why I wouldn't use these services myself.
They were ok with me sharing. Edit: Yeesh, no posts in this community for 4mo, then one admittedly mediocre setup pic and I get torn to shreds.

[Cycle To Call For 150km](https://www.cycleto.ca/150km)
Later this spring, Metrolinx officials plan to add five cars to cope with the increased demand along the line that goes through Guelph. Those new train cars, which are to feature bike storage on the main level and passenger seating above, are expected to be added to the local line in mid- to late-May. Once that’s done, there will be a total of nine bike cars on the route. This is being done in response to a “big uptick” in the number of people taking their bikes and e-bikes with them to Toronto along the Guelph line during the past year, explained Metrolinx spokesperson Andrea Ernesaks. .....
I experienced knee pain only while on my trainer and after trying many other steps which usually would solve bike pain problems for me, I came across an unusual solution. My Wahoo Kickr feet have adjustable height and although they were fairly similar, the right Kickr foot was higher than the left one, which resulted in left knee pain. After adjusting the left one to match in height, the feeling of resistance in my knee and the pain that followed went away. This is what I tried before which is probably more likely to solve your problem: * Bike fit (very important!) * Physio (also very important; weak hips and other mobility have caused me problems on-bike) * Ensuring distances between the front and rear axle and the floor were equal. * adding/removing pedal spacers (cleat position done by fitter) * decreasing load / slowing down / taking rest * eating more hummus (I like it, leave me alone.)
I have two of these passive speakers that I would like to connect to my TV. It really doesn't need to get super loud since I will be using it to watch tv/movies at a normal volume. My tv does have yellow/white rca audio out ports (not just audio in) as well as sigital out. Can someone please recommend an amp and wires to attach these two with a priority on reliability and energy efficiency? I'm a noob at anything audio. ![](https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/46a743eb-919a-4267-83c5-521e2e97765d.jpeg) Update: I found a used amp for cheap and they both sound great!
I've been trying a rolled up towel but it gets soaked and falls into the tub if I lean forward.

Let's see your pothos!
It gets very dry where I live at this time of year. This is not just hard on my skin, but the 17% indoor humidity isn't great for my houseplants. Can anybody recommend a humidifier? My priority is on reliability and although it isn't essential, it should be able to start up when power is cut and restored via a smart plug. I'm looking forward to hearing what /c/houseplants suggests! Edit: So far, I'm leaning towards options from ConsumerReports since they prioritize reliability. I'm curious if anybody has experience with any of these models: https://www.consumerreports.org/appliances/humidifiers/best-humidifiers-of-the-year-a1138350061/
I started in mid-November and have already had 5 harvests! The outrageous red and oak leaf letteuce have done the best. None of the black seeded Simpson survived. They're all leggy because of the distance to my grow lights but one of these days I'll get around to setting up a way to drop them down. At this point, I'm getting about 1 cut and come again harvest per week from all 4 plants which is far more than I expected. Once the weather warms up, I'd like to chop them and start new seedlings for outside on the balcony. I have been averaging about 14-15kWh, or 2¢ per month in electricity costs. https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557572274690054 https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557630245529612 https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557686452770836 https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557735601760281 https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557797835868193 https://pixelfed.de/p/SoySaucePrinterInk/667557858406889514
