As someone who probably has had a similar amount of professional success with getting jobs cold, you just dont see the LACK of meritocracy. I know I wouldnt've been hired to several of my jobs if my name wasnt so white. You get to know hiring managers after enough time. Just because the is a minimun set of skills required for a job does not mean meritocracy exists.

The lib part of my brain had an idea. What if you could set up campaign donation funds that only get relesed to the candidate for certain policy promises ( i mean they can just break them). Im imagining crowdfunding some sort of "stop the genocide" campaign fund that grows as people donate and is only donated once the candidate vocally supports x policies, or say 'condemn the genocide using the word 'genocide'. If candidate doesnt do the thing everyones money gets refunded.

I mean not really. Its more controlled by the dnc/rnc corporations. They set the only two options people get to choose between. And both of those options do the bidding of the same donors.

The time and energy spent on voting and campaigning would be better spent planting gardens and building community yes. Then , AFTER you have a strong community, you can making voting easy in you area and coordinate yourselves as a larger voting bloc.

Once a critical mass of communities is organized enough to change an election, both right wings will pull the accelerationism lever as a hail mary. All the while blaming the communities organized enough to attempt protecting themselves. At no point will the ruling class allow an election to change things.
